  1. Neither of these Cards will be of any benefit if you are using the Optical output. If its just about dolby digital live support there has to be cheaper cards that support it. (Xonar DX?) The essence is what you want if you have high quality headphones, using it to feed your mixamp would almost be blasphemy *cough* PS: both the Creative and Asus drivers are rather shitty, i've had problems with both. Sadly there is no proper alternative.
  2. valvetime * 42 : π edit: the pi symbol doesn't really work on here...
  3. Installiere mal per hand das neueste .NET Framework, nach Neuinstallation von windows wollte TrackIR bei mir auch nicht ohne. Mit Radeonpro (preview version) hatte ich noch nie Probleme, läuft.
  4. FC2 is a whole separate piece of software, as is BS1. Both will remain unaffected when you install DCS World.
  5. You need to first install DCS World, its the base for all current DCS products and includes all the terrain and 3d models. (its about 5gb in size i believe) The Black Shark module includes all the KA-50 specific code and cockpit you need to fly it. This way we don't have duplicates of most of the data if we own more than one DCS product. In your case you need BS1 installed -> install DCS World -> install BS2 upgrade and activate -> you are now free to uninstall BS1
  6. There was another thread where he told us how great this mod will be, but he explicitly said that it won't ever be released to the public, so why show it here? Edit: there you go
  7. iControl DCS uses Wifi to transfer key commands and video, the USB port you use won't change a thing. Make sure your wifi connection is as good as it can get. Also check your PCs connection to the network and update your network drivers. If some buttons do not function is most likely because you have changed the default keyboard mapping for said function.
  8. Are you posting pictures of that mod you are not going to release to the public again? If you have not changed that plan you are still only a troll.
  9. that "AMD" build has quite a few faults 1. Why waste money on the fancy motherboard 2. Why a 1000watt noname PSU when a 500w name brand one will do (and won't explode in your face) 3. GPU should be the HD7950 if this is an AMD build, else it should be the 660ti What you really want is the Intel i5-3570k, a Z77 motherboard of your choice (can be as cheap as ~100€) with fitting 8 or 16gb of RAM and a HD7950 or GTX660ti. Now don't forget a name brand PSU (enermax, bequiet, cougar etc) and the rest will do. PS: if you have room to play with you might as well go with a bigger Graphics card, but its not really needed.
  10. DCS World is the base game, with all the 3D models and tech that makes it run. The A-10C module is just the A-10 specific cockpit and systems. You have to download and install them both, thats why i linked both of them.
  11. The newest version of DCS A-10C is 1.2.2 (soon 1.2.3), to get this download DCS World and the A-10C Module (click the links) and install them after another (uninstall your old steam version) You might then have to activate A-10C upon loading the first mission, use the license key provided by Steam to do so. If you are set on updating you old version to 1.1.1.1 instead, look here to find the appropriate patch for your version (might or might not work with the steam version)
  12. Take it from someone who has already tried and do not get an iMac to play games on. (got a late 2009 27" iMac, awesome for everything but games) If you are a gamer you will not get around having a dedicated PC for games, otherwise you will be plagued by performance and driver issues. Especially DCS is extremely hardware hungry (mainly because its not properly multithreaded) and you will need every bit of CPU and GPU power you can get. Get a nice screen and hook your Macbook up to it for everything non-gamey and get a decent gaming-pc. i5-3570k, 16gb ram and HD7950/gtx660i shouldn't break the bank if you are prepared to get an iMac.
  13. Delete the cookie for digitalcombatsimulator.com The cookie your browser(s) has saved is corrupted, most people seem to have that problem.
  14. It doesn't require FC, what you need is the original LOMAC which is usually included when you buy FC/FC2
  15. Soon™
  16. Same, also got BS2. The Mustang does seem to be tons of fun, but the Ka-50 scares me
  17. No he doesn't, that 500watt has plenty of power to accommodate most, if not any single-GPU graphics cards on the market right now. People on these forums for some reason always encourage others to buy more than they actually need, i am failing to understand why...
  18. actually the 660 would be the newest equivalent of the 460, mr. G-Lock recommended a more than two year old card. In short: GTX660 (or Ti of budget allows) Or if you want AMD HD7850 or HD7850 depending on budget Remember that for DCS the CPU is much more important than the graphics card, so do not expect too much. PS: Your PSU will do nicely.

  20. I'm encountering a problem with the SU-30, loadouts are not being applied properly. See this http://cl.ly/image/213x1m1T1N1g Happens with every livery and config Edit: Nevermind, i just noticed that the SU-30 has two extra hardpoints, so the default loadouts don't match up anymore.
  21. The cores in both CPUs run on the same architecture. You'd be exchanging two cores for higher frequency, its simply not worth the cost. For DCS this might give you a tiny performance boost, but for most other modern game the X6 will be better. Almost all newer games are properly multithreaded, meaning they can utilize all the cores of your cpu, while DCS is based on over 10 year old tech which doesn't make it easy for the devs to implement this.
  22. DCS uses only two cores, so in theory the 965 would be better due to higher performance per thread. Overall it would be a downgrade though, its just not worth it.
  23. That would actually be kind of a downgrade, even the newer Bulldozer CPUs are not much faster than your X6. Either make the switch to Intel or keep it as it is.
  24. Others can join, but they can only fly the Modules/Aircraft they own.
  25. Use radeonpro and set up the OSD to show whatever you need it to. Make sure you get the newest beta version with 64bit support.
