  1. Ah, I was thinking about incorporating it into the old scenery, but placing it with the ME would work as well, Ill have a look at the CLSID then :)
  2. Id love a Black Hawk actually, but yes, the way ground combat is handled would have to be changed. A Black Hawk would actually add quite a bit to the DCS world as it can do everything from ferrying troops and cargo, to rescue missions, to gunship missions, I think it would prefer that to just lurking around shooting up tanks in an Apache.
  3. Okay, so Ive browsed through the thread, but I havent really found a question to my question, so I hope its okay that I post it here. Im not trying to make new terrain, right now Im just trying to import some new models into the game, but Im really at a loss here, as the Wiki isnt very through. So Ive made a model (just a box to try it out) and exported it as test.LOM, then I made a .sc file with a placeholder called "test%", so far so good. Now comes the part that I havent been able to wrap my head around, the AssembleScenes-part. Is there anything else that I have to do? Ive tried just running the AsembleScenes.bat file to see if it generated a new .sc file, but it didnt seem like it did... And how to I determine where in the game world my object pops up? Lets say that I want my box on the taxiway at Batumi, how do I go about placing it there? Any help would be much appreciated :)
  4. Of course not, but what does that have to do with anything? I was at RIAT 2009, where this video was filmed, and I have to give it to the Finns, they really know how to show off the Bug. The Swiss Hornet demo is great as well, the Yanks could really learn something about display flying from them ;)
  5. Dont really see what's clumsy about that take off... You rarely see display pilots flying with JHMCS helmets as there is no point in it, and considering that the JHMCS helmet is quite a bit heavier than the normal crash helmet its going to put much more strain on the pilot's neck.
  6. What about Las Vegas International Airport? Its just a stone's throw from Nellis, so it would be a bit weird to leave it out...
  7. It baffles me why there are no vapor effects in the DCS-series, the wing tip vorticies are better than nothing, but they look a bit weird compared to the real thing. Some vapor effects would really add to the immersion, and lets face it, it looks damn cool ;) If the next DCS aircraft is a Hornet then not adding vapor effects would be blasphemy :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKzzp0LuMIw As you can see the Hog generates quite a bit of vapor if the conditions are right.
  8. This is probably my biggest problem with the DCS-series, it doesnt feel like you're flying around in a living world. The civilian car traffic does help a bit, but Id love to have some civilian aircraft flying around (especially when the Nevada scenery comes out) as well. And ground crews would certainly help a lot. Everything that helps liven up the DCS world a bit is welcome in my book ;)

  11. They probably want to get some more people on the DCS bandwagon before announcing anything, but I dont think its going to happen any time soon to be honest...
  12. The maximum prison sentence in Norway is, as you say, 21 years. But people who pose a threat to society may be held indefinite, its been done before, and will probably be the case with Breivik as well.
  13. This is indeed unbelievable, I couldnt believe my eyes when I read the initial reports from the bombing in Oslo yesterday. Last night the police confirmed that seven people had been killed in Oslo, and nine or ten people had been killed at Utøya, so it was quite a shock to hear that at least 80 people had been killed at Utøya when I woke up this morning. The number of people killed at Utøya has now reached at least 85... My thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones and those who escaped from Utøya, it seems as though everybody knows some one who was at Utøya.

  15. Ukrainian Il-76 and Su-27 leave Fairford after this weekend's RIAT. The Il-76 shreds a tire and the Su-27 rolls on departure, so much for no non-standard departures.
  16. 2011 is the centenary of the Turkish Air Force, the F-16 display is part of the celebrations.
  17. You cant import the models that are used in Flaming Cliffs or DCS, because they are .LOM and .EDM.
  18. Nice video indeed, but the display was rather tame, at least compared to the Swiss or Finnish Hornet displays.

  24. I wonder if A-10 crews feel a bit like rock stars after the release of DCS: Warthog, Im sure the A-10 didnt get this kind of attention prior to DCS: Warthog. Great pictures though :)
