A10c and F18 - unplanned shutdown
0414 Wee Neal replied to 0414 Wee Neal's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hi Feefifofum I appreciate that is the intent, but it used to do this after i lifted over the detent. It started to do the engine shutdown when the throttles touched the detent i.e. before lifting over. i am sure this never did this before lifting over the detent before, or i would have noticed thi before? thanks Neal -
A10c and F18 - unplanned shutdown
0414 Wee Neal replied to 0414 Wee Neal's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Solved Hi Thank you for the responses. For some reason when I updated my HOTAS FIRMWARE it assigned the engine off to the backstop on my throttles, so when I pulled the throttle back to the rear detente it turned the engines off! Neal -
Hi I have, since yesterday, been experiencing unplanned shutdowns in both the A10c and F18. I start a standard mission in the A10c and when on the runway ready to start mission, a[prox 5 sec after pushing ‘fly’ the main power seems to turn off, engines close down, HUD closes and MFCD GO BLANK. Bizarrely when I start the F18 Taxi and takeoff training mission the same thing happens. I have not changed any settings and do not run any MODS. I have run a clean and repair, no change. The only thing I have done is alter a stock mission for the A10c to change the waypoint elevations, which I did just before the problem occurred. It’s all a bit strange! Any advice greatly appreciated. Neal

Help - Engine seizes on takeoff!
0414 Wee Neal replied to 0414 Wee Neal's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Hi everyone thankyou for your responses, the problem was the prop pitch in manual and overrevving, i was pushing fully forward with breaks then ......release; it does not like that apparently:smartass: neal -
Hi I have been practicing takeoff in the 109 and as i get to 500m the engine seizes and then its all bad from here! Anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong? thanks Neal

Hi I tried this and my system did not like it at all I got very bad micro stutters. I reverted pagefile back, which made no difference, I stopped Lasso and instability dissappeared; this was clearly the issue. The only thing that I was unable to set from the .pdf was the 'single threaded performance mode' which I could not find- whether this setting or lack of was the issue? Any advice welcome. Neal

Thanks mate, did not know you could do that!

Hi I agree with the above, during 2017 I was flying in a home built simpit for the A10c with triple HD projectors and using Helios; complete with a 180 Deg wrap around screen, all of which took 3 years to build. I tried the Rift in Dec 17 and that was the end of the simpit! The whole experience for me was amazing, and still is. I personally dont worry about the resolution, but once you fly through a cloud in a WW2 warbird fairly certain you will be hooked. Neal

The Big Show - My Combat Report Movies
0414 Wee Neal replied to Sydy's topic in Spitfire LF Mk.IX The Big Show Campaign
Hi I have a problem with the Spitfire in mission 1 when I get towards the French coast. I am at about 25K ft and my rpm at about 26.5 and boost about 4 ish. The low fuel pressure warning light comes on and the engine coughs and sputters and i lose power. I switch the fuel pressuring cock to the right (on?) and then have to pump the wobble lever which sometimes works! when i then lose altitude the engine pressure light goes off and engine kicks in and happy days! Can anyone advise what I am doing wrong? Thanks Neal -
The Big Show - My Combat Report Movies
0414 Wee Neal replied to Sydy's topic in Spitfire LF Mk.IX The Big Show Campaign
Hi Sydy great thread thanks. In your opinion is the upgrade from a GTX1080 to RTX 2080 worth it? I have a 1080 at the moment and have not decided yet whether to upgrade? Thanks Neal -
communication Hi I have just started flying in burning Skies but have not been able to communicate with anyone over the radio, I am clearly doing something wrong. Can anyone advise please? Neal

Hi I fly exclusively on Rift with a 1080. Is it worth upgrading to a 1080ti i.e. performance v cost? I appreciate I could sell my 1080. Ta Neal

Hi, I have the same CPU and investigating options to upgrade to a new i7 and the review comparisons (purely for gaming) show only a 10-15% improvement. When considering costs for RAM, MB etc etc that seems like a big outlay for minimal performance increase; Am I missing something in your statement? Thanks Neal

I could of sworn there were other allies involved in Afghanistan? If I recall we lost a few hundred soldiers! -
Hi I have no technical knowledge of GPU and CPU and programming, but I have a fair knowledge as a flight sim consumer. So from that layman standpoint will the upcoming RTX cards be a useful addition to my flight sim pc, specifically Rift flying. I don't really understand the 'Ray tracing' bit and I suppose its probably not important to know the finer points? I realise its a bit away yet but my pennies must be saved for the purchase! On a related point what would the advice be on whether to upgrade my motherboard set (new cpu and RAM are expensive and it would mean that only one of my children can have new shoes this year!), when / if I upgrade my GPU? Thanks Neal
