  1. Not sure if I commented on this before... but this is a fantastic video. I must've watched Les Chevaliers du Ciel twenty times at least... this is a great tribute.
  2. Wishlist forum, people...
  3. Nice, thanks for your clarification!
  4. Simplified as in "press a button to fire weapon" or simplify code that was needlessly complex?
  5. Maybe someone on CheckSix or the Virtual 229th 1st Cav website knows something. Many real-life military pilots hang around these parts. I'm sure you know them already ;)
  6. Is there a chance we can have a look at the armament control panel for the Mistral? (if there's one) Also, a question about the Mistral version: is it equipped on the SA-342L or the SA-342M? Is the Mistral variant a separate one altogether? (since it has a different cockpit interior due to the modified armament panel)
  7. Other typos spotted: In many places, the HSI is incorrectly named "HIS" (probably due to autocorrect, it happens for me too when I type my guides). I also noticed that there are many places in the manual where the key bindings for certain commands are reversed (for instance "LShift+HOME" is incorrectly written "HOME+LShift" ).
  8. Working on it. :smilewink:
  9. Corrected Mirage guide for CCRP bombing procedure (mainly with new HOTAS bindings such as the MAGIC SLAVE/AG DESIGNATE key). Added: 27/07/2016
  10. I disagree. The F-5E3 shouldn't be "upgraded", or it just wouldn't be a F-5E3 anymore.
  11. I commend you for striving for system and procedure accuracy. Hopefully, the process for the Tucano and Mirage III will be easier for your guys. Did you post the future changes for the HUD somewhere on the forum? (not sure I remember reading about those)
  12. Honestly... as much as I love the folks at Razbam and appreciate their work, I really hope that they come to a point where the procedures, controls and bindings finally stop changing.
  13. Like jojo said... it's unofficial and sometimes I don't have time to update every new change in right away. I'll have it updated soon... maybe during the next week-end.

  15. Added drag chute tutorial in the LANDING section Added: 21/07/2016
  16. Some people also made a similar suggestion via PM, and while I appreciate the thought, I have said it before and I will say it again: I do not and will not under any circumstances make profit from a derivative work of ED and its 3rd Parties and Partners, as dictated by the EULA. I am not that versed in legal matters, but I do not wish to risk jeopardizing the good relationship I have with them. These guides have always been free, and will always remain so.
  17. 2 weeks.
  18. Thanks Roie, I appreciate it.
  19. A good trick I can give is to immediately cut throttle the moment you reach the runway and to fight this reflex we all have to flare the plane. I consciously have to force myself to maintain my nose in its current attitude when landing in order not to smack my tail on the ground. The exercise is even more difficult with fuel tanks equipped; try it!
  20. I highly doubt that Gazelle pilots fire their rockets without somehow counting a little bit on science. ;)
  21. Hi folks, I was wondering if there was documentation available somewhere to know how to aim properly the machinegun and rockets using the gunsight. I see reticles but I don't quite know what ranges they indicate and at which range I should fire. The SA-342L having little ammunition, being precise is a must. Thanks in advance, Chuck

    Comms problems

Updated the Mirage guide to avoid further confusion. Thanks for the heads up.
  23. No one here is dismissing the importance or quality of Yo-Yo's work and a rigorous physics model. Yo-Yo initiated this discussion; everyone here is perfectly calm. :)
  24. Aerodynamics books and pilot feedback are complementary. Engineers can be wrong just as much as pilots given certain situations. Heck, I've even seen flight test data that was wrong because the sensors weren't installed correctly. Pilot feedback is used throughout the vast majority of commercial and military flight simulation businesses as the main validation process for FM behaviour. Most aeronautical certification authorities do recognize this validation process. Of course, a solid physical model needs to be built before this validation process can occur like you said, but I would not dismiss so easily the value of pilot feedback. I deal with test pilots regularly... and while it is true that their feedback can vary from pilot to pilot on a given aspect of a flight model, there are good or bad test pilots just as much as there are good or bad engineers or good or bad books.
  25. Being a FM expert, Yo-Yo obviously meant "Wingardium Leviosa"!
