  1. The OP hasn't posted since April :music_whistling:
  2. Here's a video that shows how to do it :D If in a hurry fast forward to 2:00 http://www.imdb.com/video/demo_reel/vi3929973785/
  3. 1.2.6 is not 32 bit friendly. Probably your issue. lots of reports on it. You may want to try a 32 bit fix which can be found in the search but don't count on it after the latest patch.
  4. DCS runs better because Steam is a Hog. It uses quite a bit of resources and can even be some of the problems with crashes. I used to have crash issues with it back in my COD days.
  5. Today is 4 weeks since the 1.2.6 release and not even a micro patch. Kind of surprised.:dunno:
  6. That's how it's sold. You get world but to have the cockpits and controls you have to buy and download the module. I believe each plane is in world. That's how you can see them when playing. Proof in the pudding is download world only and hit f2 to view players in multi-player. It doesn't have to be done that way but I believe it is.
  7. If you're blaming beta software make sure the trackir camera is facing towards you and not the wall behind the monitor. :music_whistling::D
  8. The X52 is a different animal than the X52 pro. I would go with the X52 pro if you can afford it. The X52 is a decent stick but has very little spring tension. The pro version feels so much better.
  9. A lot of work has been done and often comes out great. I think the main problem is that World has embedded every new and existing aircraft. By doing so every time something is changed in any part of the game, all modules and base world has to change. It must be a nightmare to manage. Now that 3rd party modules are starting to appear, many changes in the world must be updated with other companies products. It will only get worse as more are added. IMO to get a long term stable platform the base World should be set with minor bug fixes. Modules should be added as the user purchases them, similar to FSX and Xplane etc. Everyone who plays those sims don't have a copy of every plane that exists on their computer. If you play a multiplayer server, the graphics of the planes can be uploaded to you when you log on or some other scheme. Once you get the base playground working leave it alone.
  10. How about the challenge of receiving new content that isn't ready? :music_whistling: :megalol::megalol: The latest hasn't been too bad for me but for many (especially for the late 32 bit players) it hasn't been a good one. If the open beta is next, they should back off to 1.2.5 before doing so.
  11. Does the mission you use have open plane slots for them to use? Try one of the missions in the download/user files section. There are also some available in the mission forums.
  12. Also the 32 bit version has 4 gig maximum memory support which includes the video memory. That is why it only sees 3.3 gig of your main ram. I'd suggest 8 gig of ram (pretty cheap these days) and 64 bit os.
  13. It's not a GAU 30mm and there are relatively few of them.
  14. You can mirror the c drive onto the new larger one, then use the current c for storage.
  15. Just having the ability to turn tracks off would be fine with me. The tracks folder gets pretty big if you forget about it
  16. Considering the software is a Russian product there are very few spell errors.
  17. No, you don't need BS1

    Perspective

After participating in some of the recent forums and reading many others complaining about details of the game I googled a little and got a pretty big laugh. Some/maybe many of you started with sims around the same time as I did (1985 for me with Flight sim 2.x) After watching the video below I find it amazing how far it's come and how much we take it for granted. So you think 10-20 fps makes the game unplayable? watch this link. I encourage all to check it out just because it's the history of MSF. Other titles happened in the same time frame but the technology and graphics were similar. Enjoy :pilotfly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff07H0xRRKM&feature=player_embedded
  19. Yes Uninstall Then re-install. This time create a directory directly off of the C drive. Like C:/DCS World. Instead of C:/Eagle dynamics/DCS World Creating a different directory will get you around any potential registry problems that may exist. Back before World it was a suggestion that seemed to work for some.
  20. Torrents are available for world and each module in the download section.
  21. I have a first edition paper airplane for sale  Only 39.95.
  22. Shoot while out of range from them. Use any missile, bomb or higher angle of attack when approaching them and pull the trigger a little earlier. Once you attack TURN. When approaching straight at them it is the same as if you were standing still. Very easy to hit. Also tanks tend to have a big gun machine gun on them. Some include the ma duce which can reach out and touch very far and shread your aluminum plane.
  23. It won't hurt to try upgrade without uninstall When I first switched to 64 bit back in vista days I was able to do an upgrade from 32 bit. Cant hurt to try.
  24. The Gun is not as small as you think http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.456fis.org/MIS-4/GAU-8_meets_VW_Type_1%5B1%5D.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.456fis.org/GAU-8_AVENGER.htm&h=1150&w=1800&sz=206&tbnid=tcHXMomMlix8UM:&tbnh=111&tbnw=174&zoom=1&usg=__YCMAvBfJ0IwOPbGeNrDanY-6ppE=&docid=nBixf3t-1z-AJM&sa=X&ei=1kQ6UrfhG47c4AOejYHQAg&ved=0CEkQ9QEwBA
  25. One thing I noticed causing crashes is popups. I had a program (adobe) and another program (system mechanic) announce a update available in the background and the game crashed. When I closed the program the popup was on the screen. happened on different occurrences. One thing that seems to help is if I hit ctrl alt del to bring up task manager before starting the program. Don't know why but I don't get very few crashes when doing that first.
