  1. As noted before, concentrate on starting up. There is an in-game tutorial that's pretty good. The first time you get the thing running and ready to taxi you'll be grinning big. After that taxi to the runway and fly the bird. Practice takeoffs and landings until you get proficient. (shouldn't take long if you fly prop sims):pilotfly: Once comfortable, start looking into other parts of the plane. Conquer one part at a time. Should keep you busy for quite a long time. Welcome aboard and Good Luck
  2. I often move to the corner of the runway out of the way to re-arm and fuel. If I need repairs, shut down the motors (APU On) and select repair. While waiting for the repair to countdown you can also select rearm and refuel and both will be done before repairs are started.
  3. Megs Once you change your views to tracker you'll want to make sure the trim hat is set up. You'll be using the trim a lot with the A-10. Also the Joystick Paddle switch works great when set up for centering the track ir.
  4. Part of the reliance on CCRP (In multiplayer at least) is the layout of many of the missions. Seems like anytime you dive low a manpad or other is hidden and waiting your arrival. There are exceptions of course and those usually require NOE flying and have long range sams to take you out if flying high.
  5. People need to chill. Imagine having to sit around and make stuff up every week for the update. Not much changes in a week's time and the time digging up info for the updates takes away from doing other work. Also there is always someone not happy with the info or shortage each week.
  6. Those Huge one's help keep the feet pointing down while riding the parachute down after ejecting :D
  7. Always helps to note your setup. Just put it in your sig.
  8. For those who are still learning the Hotas commands I recommend downloading and printing a quick reference chart. There are a few available in the user files section such as this one: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/340527/
  9. We understand that things are being worked on. We don't understand why the same issue keeps creeping in after being fixed several times. (always looks easier from the outside). We also understand that we often shoot the messenger. (people the company puts in front of us) Note though that it's not the only diverse sim with clients flying on-line. Aces high flies hundred of people from around the world in the same server every day without a hiccup. While it's not a high end sim, it does have many times more planes available and flying at any time. In the end they're computer programs with similar issues and challenges. I think the issues are simply a company that is trying to grow at a fast pace and tripping some along the way. we're hanging with ya's but still get frustrated when things aren't right.
  10. Just did it last night in the 76th server. The 31's are what it took to destroy.
  11. Ya just have to hang in there. Looks like ED was focused well on stabilizing the game and did very well for a while. 1.2.5 is probably nothing more than a temporary eye off of the ball. I remember a couple of years ago in Aces High they had 500 plus pilots in the Friday Night match. They had just released a patch and not long after the start the server crashed. Turned out that running 200 was fine but once they crossed about 450 the server couldn't handle it. (note the server type is different there and the company runs their own). The following week there were the same amount of pilots and the server did not crash, so I know it's possible to do it with a server supporting 32. And as far as things like cluster bombs. They have B-17's there that have the same amount of projectiles when they let go. And there are sometimes dozens of bombers dropping the same time.
  12. I'm curious about 1.2.6 beta. Maybe this is how they are going to make the switch to 64 bit only. Giving the option allows 32 bit users to stay where they are. 64 bit only option has the ability to beta.
  13. Someone should post a screen shot of it showing on steam.
  14. I think it's a bug that doesn't show up very often. I've had it happen twice in the past and posted it in the bug reports over 6 months ago. Last time it happened to me I bounced into the air and wound up floating at a pretty high altitude with no control. I just make it a point to keep the speed over 120 and never had it happen again.
  15. Just their way of letting us know they're thinking of us. :music_whistling: That or they tried running a multiplayer server and it crashed. :pilotfly:
  16. Maybe wags will mention it in tomorrow's update. :music_whistling: They'll probably slate it for version 12.8.16.2017. If you look careful enough you'll find lots of other issues that are best not mentioned. Such as Wheels aren't really touching the ground (because there isn't one) Ground crew talks to you but aren't really there When raining there are no drops flowing down the canopy When you look down at your feet they aren't there When you look in the mirror you aren't there. Feel free to add on. :pilotfly:
  17. As noted just go the gameplay tab and unclick labels. You should be all set. Note that if your are in multiplayer and the server is set up to allow labels you may have to turn them off manually.
  18. Also check for the obvious. Are you running the latest software? If your version does not match others it won't show.
  19. Pretty much covered. Search from 20mi out to give more area. You can switch the tgp view between wide and narrow as well as change the Light/Dark setting. You'd be surprised at how much stands out when you select the dark view on the TGP. After a while you'll start spotting easier once you get some experience. Good Luck
  20. Also understand that the Navy is geared primarily towards Anti-Ship and Sub. A plane as slow as the Hog wouldn't survive very long against ship borne targets as well as the aircraft that may accompany them. There is also no terrain to hide behind.
  21. One big thing to check is that you waited for alignment during the start procedures. If you didn't then auto pilot won't work. Look at the trouble panel on the right side by your knee. Are any lights on? especially the EAC? If so then the auto pilot won't work.
  22. Pretty amazing. Probably deemed non practical because the aircraft would block normal operations since they cant lower it to the hangar. It would be interesting if they used it for special ops to refuel in long range missions. As to the wind it would be realistic to have a pretty high one. Carriers can do 40+ knots and with normal wind added can get to be 50+.
  23. I would suggest getting airborne and having a little fun before going much further. In time you will pick up one piece at a time.
  24. Also I'm sure the C130 would need a hook installed or arrestor net raised to land on a carrier
  25. Agree Once you can fly pick a weapon and learn it. Then start flying multiplayer using that weapon for a while. When everything is second nature learn one or two more things and practice with missions again. In a few months you'll have a large chunk committed to memory and have fun doing it.
