  1. Looked at V10 of your mission, the crash to desktop is caused by a missing "Mission Details Picture" (found the error logged in the DCS.log and also seen it when I ran the mission, the mission detail window comes up with a big fat missing textures picture). I had some funky things happening with included sound files and briefing pictures being truncated from missions in early beta versions, most issues seemed to have been fixed with hotfix 3. There maybe a few gremlins still floating around, caused under certain circumstances. Solution was to just delete corrupt picture from the "Briefing Windows Panels" and reload your "Diamond Dogs.jpg" from the V7 mission. Ran the mission and jumped into all available aircraft without crash to desktop, Voices seem to work fine, intro and Il76 stuff in SP and MP. Played sounds from with in ME and they all played fine. Can't explain issue as to why the corruption is happening, but just know were to look now most of the time. DCS.log is your friend, check it out, will give clues to issues such as CTD. Whilst testing when I have issues: Clear the Temp cache in location = c:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\ Check DCS.log in location = c:\Users\YourUserName\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\ Hope this has been of some help, ammended mission is attached. Regards, Ian. Operation Coop V10 new.miz
  2. Good job, don't ya just hate it when the fix turns out to be the one thing you really didn't want to do. ;-) Happens to me quite a lot. Glad your all sorted. Regards, Ian.
  3. See here, might be your problem http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147740&highlight=MSVCR120.dll
  4. If same as me, running windows 8.1, the lastest SST software has a problem with not being digitally signed and therefore windows will not load them, so no simulated keyboard / mouse commands will work. Solution: Uninstall the newer SST software v7.0.39.x Download and install the older SST software v7.0.27.13 which will setup correctly. Running newer drivers software v7.0.40.9 works fine, just remember to unplug joystick whilst installing the drivers, and only plug joystick back in when asked by the drivers. Check in Device manager that you have no items marked as yellow exclamation, especially after all changes installed and you have rebooted. Regards, Ian.
  5. AI Flights are very reluctant to fire on enemy convoys with guns or rockets on each parse. Setup simple test mission to force a flight of 4 x P-51d armed with Gun and Rocket Ammunition to engage an unarmed convoy. Doesn't make much difference if the flight is P-51d, Bf-109, Fw-109, Mig-15, or several other plane types, just seemed the P-51d was the worst offender. Observation: Setup IP waypoint to 8000m, all aircraft in flight achieve 4000m and runs in on convoy and pitches down to fire canon/guns and rockets, this works fine from this height, however after the first run in they circle around and stay very low at an approx altitude of 800-1200m and do multiple strafing parses but very rarely do they pitch down enough to take another actual shot (Guessing they can't achieve a high enough angle of attack) Even though there is no AAA or Sam threats, having Reaction to threats = Evade Fire or Evasive vertical maneuvers makes the Test Flight perform worse at shooting the convoy than if set to NONE or Passive Defence. 6. At last I have figured it out, applied the fix to 5 or 6 missions of the F-15 Eye for an Eye campaign with my issue and it has fixed all of them, with no lua error on conversion. Still may drop a file or more, but that seems to be either the files were injected manually and have no calling trigger function in mission, or they belong to custom lua scripting. Solution: Load up an old dcsw v1.2x Mission Go to the Triggers Section of mission and at the very bottom of page were it has "Initialize Script" with the Open + Reset buttons and check if the CODE box is highlighted in GREY, will not have any code there, if it is GREY and NOT BLACK then press the RESET button to make it go black and clear it. Now select Save AS to save mission to new DCSW 1.5x file format and it should save all work as it should. Close ME or load the next mission and repeat, you will not get the save mission prompt again as before. You will also not get the renaming of all units to "Dictionary_Unit" Regards, Ian. dcs converted eye for an eye_log.txt
  7. I have tried it on two completely different computers (Win 8.1), with the same failed results. The issue is that in the process of resaving out to the new format, it causes a LUA script error and doesn't complete the save properly (as Grimes has found). Symptoms are: Sound and Picture files will be missing from the missions .miz file, the new .miz file is not the same size or slightly smaller than the old 1.216 .miz file Straight after save, all the Units names change to the "DictKey_GroupName_xxx" format naming, hence why the editor thinks the mission needs saving on exit or loading of another mission, if you save a second time, you have totally destroyed the mission and mission .miz file.
  8. This is related to my findings in: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=149353 There are quite a few missions that will not convert over, for what ever reason, it seems quite random, this has been reported to Devs. I too have tried it on two completely different computers, with the same failed results. The issue is that in the process of resaving out to the new format, it causes a LUA script error and doesn't complete the save properly. I am watching the beta update changelogs intensely for the fix to this issue, its a real deal breaker. Regards, Ian.
  9. Might be related to this thead. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=149766
  10. So that is what is happening to me, thanks for that find, I was having the same problems and couldn't figure it out.
  11. +1 Same issue in missions, whilst watching AI do their thing, using F1,F2,F10,etc they will stop working and then back on again for no reason that I can find.
  12. This is what I thought originally, but those sounds are not called by standard triggers, they are called by the custom "SpawnVerifyTeam.lua" script used for the helo rescue, that is were the part script code in my original message is from.
  13. Blooze: I welcome all types of work arounds / solutions and I thank you for your reply. Thinking out side the box or trying something that makes absolutely no sense is in my nature. I did try your solution, along with some other wacky ways to fix the issue, I have always loaded sound files from any of my various hard drives without problem. But as it stands at the moment this not being able to upgrade all the mission I maintain to DCSW OB 1.5x without extensive testing and manual corrections has to be overcome before I can see myself playing v1.5x exclusively. Looking at my attached part Dcs.log and confirmation by Grimes shows there are lua errors with the conversion of missions to the new file format of OB v1.5x. Grimes: Thanks again hope ED team can sort it out ASAP Kind Regards, Ian. dcs_log.txt
  14. For your pleasure, I have attached an original 1.216 campaign file and the same file loaded into DCSW 1.5x and resaved out with no modifications. I have also uploaded: A file by file comparision of both mission files when compared taking into account the different structures, highlighting just some of the missing sound and image files in the original 1.216 version. A partial file by file size of the originals on left side and converted on the right. The "F-15c an eye for an eye" campaign missions seemed to convert the first 5 missions ok, but from mission 6 to 12 are all missing some sounds (about half) and some briefing pictures. Over all on my list of campaigns, you can see the significant file size reduction on the more complex 1.216 campaign mission when converted, but the smaller missions such as OP Jackal are very close to the original size when converted as they are not losing any sounds or briefing pictures. Might mention also: When saving the problem missions to 1.5x format, it saves, but when I go to load another mission or exit the ME, I get the do you want to save your mission (Yes, No, Cancel), It will not let me out unless I say NO or Cancel. Also noticed I can't look inside some .miz files with zip viewer, when I have a mission loaded in the ME, funny thing it isn't the same mission I am trying to open in .miz viewer. I can close the ME and still can't open the .miz file directly until I completely shutdown DCSW 1.5x. Thank you for your time on this, as it has me baffled at the moment. Regards, Ian.
  15. When converting from old DCSW v1.2.16 or earlier missions to OB v1.5 Triggers set to play "sound to all" command, the sound files that are associated with those commands seem to be listed ok in the ME but some will not play at all if the play button is pressed. The ones that don't play will not save the associated sound files into the new mission format when the Mission Editor saves. Reloading the non playing sound file for the command may of may not fix the issue, more often not. Sound files in .wav format and play fine in external players. ie: Used mission: all sorts as test
  16. Thanks for the reply, good solution, will give that a go. Already did the mist update to 4.0.55
  17. When converting from old DCSW v1.2.16 or earlier missions to OB v1.5 that have mist scripts within them that play sounds with the "trigger.action.outSound()" command, the sound files that are associated with those command will not be saved in the new mission format when the Mission Editor saves. Even if you copy over the missing files and inject directly into .miz file, they will be deleted if you edit mission and resave. I don't know how to program mist, but have done mission file comparisons from old to new versions and see multiply files that are missing. ie: Used mission: Asset extraction 1.24.miz as test Part Code example: if pushingToEgress then stopPush = generateWaypoints(assetUnit, assetUnit, 'stopPush') trigger.action.outText("This is Delta squad. Um - we're not on board yet. Return to the extraction zone for dust off.", 40) trigger.action.outSound('StopPushToExtraction.ogg') mist.goRoute(verifyGroup, stopPush) mist.goRoute(assetGroup, stopPush) pushingToEgress = false end Missing Files used by complete script: AssetVerificationComplete.ogg DeltaSupportRequest.ogg ExtractComplete.ogg ResumePushToExtraction.ogg StartPushToAsset.ogg StartPushToExtraction.ogg StopPushToExtraction.ogg Regards, Ian.
  18. +1 for that, all the mission versions, MP / SP for same missions, etc is a real waste of HDD space and hard to keep organised when you have hundreds of missions. I much prefer to play single player or MP with just a few friends, but use AI quite a bit within MP missions. I am sure it will come, we just have to be patient, the single flight feature implimented in 1.5 is a welcome addition and first step to our dream. Regards, ian.
  19. Can definitely see same issue on the A-10c, the hogs mouth decals and others disappear when only a little away from the aircraft. Regards, Ian.
  20. Others have stated the issues and solutions, so I will not go into them. However sometime ago I uploaded a complete revised A-10c Georgian Oil War campaign with all known issues fixed by me onto the DCS user files section. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1249663/ The changelog gives an overall bug fix listing of sead issues, trigger isssues, etc, I wasn't very methodical when I started correcting all the default mission that come with DCSW. I am working on the A-10c single missions also. I have also just uploaded a revised Su-25T Georgian Oil War Campaign with a heap of fixes, that has to be verified first before it will be available. Regards, Ian.
  21. Glad I could help, thanks for the message. But don't know why you can't rep either, I have tried in past and get same message. Regards to all, Ian.
  22. DCS BS 1 should not be installed into the DCSW folder systems under any circumstances. Both programs are two destinct installations, ie two different install directories. Since you have made a mess of things at the moment, I would uninstall all bs1, bs2 and DCS world programs and start again. You may have to just delete all of the DCS Folders that exist all ready manually. Install either one of the BS 1 versions first as adminstrator, just use default install directory presented by the installer, as guess it will be (c:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Blackshark) and make sure it runs ok after installation. If it doesn't install properly, then you are missing one of the required install files, or you have merged it with BS 2 or DCS World (a no no). If it is running ok, play a quick mission and make sure you activate BS 1 with its required serial number. (BS 2 upgrade will not see this serial number otherwise and will not run) Download and Install DCS World as adminstrator, just use default install directory presented by the installer, it will be (c:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World) and make sure it runs ok after installation Use the DCS World module manager to install the BS 2 upgrade module (not the BS 2 stand alone module), don't use your download upgrade version as that will be another stand alone version of BS 2 in (c:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS Black Shark 2) that will not intergrate with DCS World. Play a BS 2 quick mission and make sure you activate BS 2 with its required serial number (if serial doen't work you may have installed the BS 2 full version instead of the BS 2 upgrade version). Quit DCS World if all goes ok, and test that your BS 1 install works ok still. Don't put DCS 1 into the DCS World Folder. That is because you have over written the core DCS World files with the older BS 1 files. Kind Regards, Ian.
  23. Here is a sample mission with some lua code imbedded to do pretty much what you want. (Some one elses code that I gleaned from the forums), there are better solutions about now. Cheers, Ian. Test - Tanker Respawn with MIST v2.miz
