  1. I nominate MUSTANG! Well that makes sense.
  2. That's really cool of you, what a great way of supporting the community.
  3. A recent patch changed the file structure, it changed DCS World/Mods/aircrafts to /aircraft. I might be wrong, but I suspect the campaign stuff is stored in aircrafts (which will be left as a vestige in your installation folder), and I think you should be able to dig those files out and just put them in their respective places in the new folder.
  4. So it gets stuck while extracting? Are you sure your system complies with the requirements? Is maybe your antivirus interfering with the installation? It could also be that your system is having trouble moving big files I guess.
  5. Impossible to say what went wrong without knowing exactly what was going on, and it's hard to know how to improve your framerate when we don't know your settings. One example: you were displaying a Maverick and the TGP on the MFCDs, and you have the maximum cockpit display resolution setting. That'd make even a very fast system struggle. Or maybe you were in a mission with 300 AI units who were all tracking eachother with radar. If you provide some more info I'm sure we can get your game to run faster, but one thing you have to realize about DCS is that a few things aren't completely optimized, and a few things the sim does are just really damn difficult to calculate.
  6. See title. It happened both with the relevant pylons empty, and with one missile on one of the pylons. I guess no sound at all should be played in the first scenario, and just one CLUNK in the second (rather than the clunkclunkclunkclunkclunkclunkclunkclunkclunkclunk which actually played).
  7. Sounds like a Browning M2. Just listen to it in F2 view to recreate.
  8. This is to do with texture size, apparently. Personally I think it's worth it.
  9. I've landed with half a wing, if that's what you mean.
  10. Just ask for either fuel or weapons, as soon as the groud crew start working on the aircraft the chute will be reloaded.

    This is so cool!
  12. I have no improvement (if anything a few % loss) with my 580, from the previous release.
  13. Are you referring to the 900 series? Of course there is. They are released and in stock in several large online chains here in Sweden, I could buy one today. Regarding the VRAM issue: yep, I know what you mean, but I also know that I have 1.5 GB VRAM right now, and that it's limiting me. Inside the cockpit of the MiG-21, for example, all of it is allocated. I feel a bit unsure about moving up to only 2 GB when I buy a new card. Luckily the 970s have 4, so I don't really need to make the 3 or 4 choice.
  14. After reading benchmarks and looking at pricing, a 970 with 4 GB vram is the clear option for me; even the reference model outperforms both the 770 and 80.
  15. I actually only ever display games on one of them, but who knows what kind of setup I'll get in the future. I think you're right, the 780s have 3 GB at the lowest, and there are 770s with 4 GB. Would you rather get a 4 GB 770 for 3500 arbitrary currency units (ok, Swedish Crowns :P) or a 3 GB 780 for 4000? Thanks.
  16. I'm personally considering picking up a 770 or 780 soon when the prices (hopefully) fall slightly from the 900-series launch. How much, in your opinions, is 3 or 4 gigs of VRAM worth over 2 GB? Should I try hard to get 3 or 4 gigs, or will 2 be enough?
  17. I bet this is the landing training mission, right? I think buildings are forced off in that. Try another mission and I bet they're back.
  18. Known issue! There's a big thread somewhere. It's scheduled for the first hotfix, if I've understood everything correctly.
  19. Welcome to Russia. Enjoy your stay!
  20. The tests we did didn't have any room for a manufacturer bias, don't worry. Unless drawing fewer objects makes performance worse with AMD :p
  21. Since there are LoD and other issues with the MiG right now, I suggest you use another aircraft for your benchmarks. :) If it makes LITERALLY no difference, something very weird is going on.
  22. Pp. 163-- in the manual!
  23. The Hip is a bit different, I think, since the cockpit is so huge, lots of geometry with the pilots and all the breakers. But no optimization is perfect, obviously.
