Slow progress as always ;-) Managed to get the NSMP pieced together. Added knob 'textures' above each to ease the handling. Easy to find whats missing/not working on the instrument panel though but getting there hopfully http://www.strandedduckling.com/HOGBOX_20140126.JPG Cheers Gus

DC Guides presents "Exporting data to an Arduino 101"
Duckling replied to Devon Custard's topic in Home Cockpits
Thanks DC for taking the time to make this tutorial, greatly appriciated. Cheers Gus -
Thanks MacFevre. I'll look it up Edit: found it http://www.en.wiki.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1636910&postcount=78 /thanks

Looks realy nice and your Mod on the Aux Light panel is a good approach. (I'm still figuring if I'd try to add a micro rotary on my MFCDs :-)

HarSu. Just a note if you plan to make a RevB on your UFC PCB (and avoid same mistake as me). Backlit of the "sub-lettering" text beneath the knobs themself would be great to have. Having the knobs on the UFC backlit is great but a bright monitor in front and backlit characters on the knobs makes the smaller text on the lightpanel very hard to see. Good for practising memory though ;-)

Good work HarSu. Looks great

Hi Boltz, thanks for the info. I've been toying with some idea as mentioned in the previus post and also to have the the stick force (front-back) to be further induces by additional spring and controlled with a stepper driven shaft with the TM base on a sledge. Likewise several of the Swedish fighter control the trim force on the stick (probably more around :-) but think I have to screen it due of fear to damage the TM base. Flims setup is probably the best cost efficient solution around. Still wonder if I'd dare to make a test of a config like that. Got a spare base for TM that can be used and the force inducers on DMs trainer looks that it 'should' be worth a try :-)
-
No shadow on Flims TM extension what so ever. Been close to order but funds has been short as usuall. Getting it ready for the TM base is the best option I agree. The risk of overtorque on the base may be in my imagination only but if one would limit the stick movment some the quiz is how much force the center will sustaine. There's bound to be some leverage to the base On the trainer, is the stick stick movement limited someway ?
-
Impressive work DM. If I understand it correct, using the TM stick base will need a shorter shaft, are you planning to cut the existing stick in lowerpart or make a replica/replacement of the real extension ? I've had some ideas of using two small "shockabsorbers" (floorwise to lower part of stick) with coilover springs (one per axis) to both limit the movement of the full height stick and protect the TM base. Quiz of it would be possible to also add additional load force without blowing the TM base apart. Plastic within the base might be to fraguile The controll load steppers in the base if I recall correct, was connected to both the stick and pedals. Have you found a way to reuse these monsters ?

Found it :-) The x/y value in lower left part of cmspteachin window is not the size of the viewport window as I thought, my bad. Keeping the original values 101/25 (seems to be a point within the viewport export itself?) get the correct handling of second row of the display.

Hi Boltz. Envy your upcomming monitor setup. I swopped my earlier 19-24-19" test setup to a 47" LED Displaay. I bit too large vs resolution and get a bit "pixelated". Think a 42" is a better even if size is a bit smaller. An high-end 3-4G RAM GPU with 4+ outputs is highly recommended. Have you tried out SoftTH ? Very nize to work with when using multimonitor Best Gus

Have some trouble to get it working after a reinstal of the cmspCOM version. Can't get the application to detect the the "current val" and it's displayed as blank on the second row of the LCD. Top row is working fine. wiped the config twice just in case but no luck. (Manual shows a digit in the small area with a question mark in the attached picture but nothing seen there on my screen.) Anyone had this issue or have an idea of solution ? Cheers Gus

Can it be file or directory security permissions settings ? Just a longshoot if you running NTFS filesystem and have some limitation to the folder or file. If so check properties\security on folder and file and verify that your account or group have write/modify authority to the folder and cmsp text file.

Santa (guess who) in disguise visited and family's happy, grandson running wild and "chasing" the dogs (or the other way around) big laugh ;-) Great christmas meal and a malt scotch on the table to tune in the upcomming morning. Tried to stay away but couldn't totaly avoid the addiction.. Merry christmas to you all /Gus

Hi MacFevre. The UFC from PitBldr has knobs with a flange and the front is countersinked (or rather two plates glowed together with inner part that fit the flange) knobs can't fall out from the box. Pcb with tactiles holds the buttons in place so no need to have my glued fortunatly
-
Omron B3W9 might be an option. Found'em long after I got the tactiles I used, 10x10mm caps. Avalible in two diffrent force configs but don't know if there I round caps aviliable. Caps might be possible to laser after printed ? I didn't use glue, was tempted but didn't wanna risk an ofset vs lightpanel. A somewhat sturdy pcb-lab board and chimsed it in behind the front with minimal distance between buttons/tachtiles so the each button is 'free float'. Work better that I feared :-)

Understand the situation. My build have been going on for ever it seems, with few short bursts of activity.. :)

Copy of my current set of files attached. A bit of a mess though :-) [disclaimer:.. - several functions in SiocSupport are not in use (and several should need some additional work) - Helios 'part' of export.lua file is commented out - ILS is inop (work ongoing) OC setup: Left Console [dev 0] 1 USB Exp card, 3 Mastercards, 2 7Segm cards Right Console [Dev 1] USB Exp card + 3 Mastercards, 1 7Seg cards InstrumentPan [Dev 2] USB Exp card + 2 Mastercard, 1 7 Segm.Card, 1 ServoC. True true... only got 17 years married here currently, THE main task of pit building is to have kids and wify 'agree' or the outcome would be some 'erratic', :pilotfly: /Gus edit: Great start on your pit ! Looking forward to see it 'growing' Best Gus
-
Hallo Dieter. Sorry for a late response, i kinda got lost watching your pit & setup in the link above Thanks for the kind words reg my Pit but checking the effort and results you put into yours is amazing (to say the least) On the road currently and will be back home to the weekend, will post what I got. I use Gadrocs Helios provided link to my exportfiles and Oakes scriptbase. UHF/VHFs are oneway direction to the SIM currently (no exporting current SIM Radio settings but settings seems ok), TACAN is working with export from SIM. ILS is a bit of mess still trying to handle the gain value but Bnepethomas post of ILS code probably will solve that (Thanks Pete). Best /Gus

Thanks for the update Propnut. Looks interesting

No worries from side, structual build and reference is the main issue. The electrical installation can be a separate topic if/when time allows.
-
Thanks. Can't agree more, it works so (at least now) the less I fipple with the wire's the better. Got the recommndation of switches from Linden and the warning they were "half" yellow but they will do. @Hans, Thx. It currently the only one with backlight I got but highly needed. With the monitor behind it, it would be unreadable if not with LEDs(for once a good decision from my side:-) Cheers Gus

Amazing work, tacno

Thanks guys, Switches used are Farnell 9472010 (same but 2 yellow, under the master caution switch) MULTICOMP - TLL-62BG - TACTILE SWITCH, GREEN LED MULTICOMPTLL-62BG Note the color diff between the true green LED "text" light in Data/page and Select rocker versus the rest where the illuminated switch leds are used, they goes more to the 'green-yellow' spectra.
