It's not like they turned on the radar and RWR together for the first time in '99. And while radar might give false indication (but I doubt it does... maybe on way older RWR), there's no way that it will introduce a RWR failure!

You will get a change from beep beep beep to beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep when the radar goes from search to lock (just like in LO), and you will get an additional change in pitch when the signal strenght goes above threshold.

That is my point. Unleass you are a direct whitness, it doesn't matter. You would still only be told the official version, just like the rest of us, plus maybe some hear-say. Now, I might be in the wrong here, but the official version of this event was changed since the document leak, and it seams to me you guys just didn't catch that. Now if you ask about about my experience in a theater of opperation, it is my experience that NATO likes to stick to the least painfull version of an event, until pushed by evidence to do otherwise. Any time I look one of those Su-25 cockpit videos I'm impressed at how good things actully look in LockOn. In F4.. if it was any worse, I would thing it was a CLI :D /runs for the fire suit/ :D

Pod jammers are interfaced with the radar to avoid one degrading the other (in regimes that they 'care' about each other). That isn't something you need AESA for. Oh, and good luck jamming behind you with the radar :)
