VR is not Close enough to spend more money on yet!!!
FoxDelta replied to Targanon's topic in Virtual Reality
i love VR, before vr got public i tinkered on a self made dome, but because of 800x600 beamer resolution i abandoned it, if i would stay away from vr i would go the dome/beamer approach again, but for me VR is so much more immersive, i will never go back to 2d -

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
FoxDelta replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
i think u are still ahead of other companys, if u look at the new VALVE INDEX with its modular plugin front, YOU can be the first to provide a useful plugin for it. most companies are going for hand and finger tracking, which isn t as accurate as needed ( i tinkered with it when the first xbox360 kinect came out) clicking/picking was always moving the cursor. it wasn t accurate enough as well. the three physical buttons u are providing is your market unique selling point. if u ever do an iteration for the INDEX i will, for sure, order one if u dont ,i m afraid i wont be able to withstand modding your parts :music_whistling: keep up the great work- 3421 replies

thx, planning to continue on the sweep lever next week, kinda busy atm , just a bit polishing needed, regarding the gear lever, thats not my design, TERRY DACTILE did it and that was the point where i got interested in 3d printing for my hotas, link below https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3591804&postcount=12

blue, u are raising the bar, as always, THATs a really professional construction/instruction:thumbup:

hi, as i did with the other projects i will make the files available here (AV8,F18,) u can find me also on thingiverse if u need a warthog extension or a raised vkb base. i have no need to sell anything for profit.:smilewink: not really, there was a comparison site out somewhere https://craftcloud.all3dp.com but i would recommend buying a printer yourself. acceptable printers cost below 300 € if u want this lever to be motordriven, of course this can be done, but i do not have the skills to do that ,yet if anyone wants to do this pm me and i will send you the fusion360 link for the file, for easier modification or do the modification as needed myself for you there is already some nearly transparent filament out there, so yes. the transparent part is missing in the pictures, as its not relevant for the prototype, also i haven t yet published photos of the raised lever nor how that works. next step will be refining the function of the lever, e.g. the need to raise it for the oversweep then pretty it up
-
1st prototype so, 1st prototype is assembled, as i am on vacation for the next 12 days i will do the refining, and improving thereafter have a look, its longer than the AV8 lever but just half the width

blue, your work is so impressive, can t find the words for. insane:D

AV8 3d printed nozzle lever for warthog throttle
FoxDelta replied to FoxDelta's topic in Home Cockpits
i guess u re looking for the base_connector, u will need the base distancers as well to avoid wobbling glad u like it, tell me your suggestions when you went to printing -
ah, yes , why not, its a bit tight but working, do you have any suggestion for a change here. imo having the same mounting solution makes the change easier and cuts the parts list
-
raise-mechanism is designed, next step will be the stop-mechanism for 20°, bomb° and 68 degrees, including park/72°

AV8 3d printed nozzle lever for warthog throttle
FoxDelta replied to FoxDelta's topic in Home Cockpits
yup, someone mentioned this grip sheets here in the forum long time ago and, because my warthog became old and ugly i went for it, the rubber version (i used on this photo ) is more for the look than to add more grip, the granulate adds grip but is not as stylish, see yourself here https://talongungrips.com/other-grips/material/large-sheet-5x7.html -
u can drill straight, just use the one part i added where the upper and lower are connected for reference. the reason, during prototyping i noteced that the front sides of both levers are not aligned plain, the left one is tilted slightly back. u can check that when holding a straight or plain pencil to them. so i corrected the connectors for a perfect movement. if u think u won t need this improvement or your levers are aligned plain u may use the right connector parts on the left too, but i used the modified for the left side, be aware thos angle is added on the upper left connector(linkerSchuh.stl) and the lower left slide rail(Keillinks.stl)

thank you very much
