  1. I understand what you mean. And I'm sure you'll be sharing your findings with the rest of us eventually. :)
  2. Towsim, I haven't seen this question before so it's probably a stupid one but I'm taking my chances anyway.. Have you thought about developing Aries into a standalone product which somehow plugs into DCS? From a theoretical perspective, isn't it much easier if your software doesn't have to function as a bridge between two other programs which by design have nothing in common?
  3. Tried Alt + F1?
  4. Do you only want to edit the charge?
  5. A baby blue CCD image and a pink HUD. Suspicious...
  6. Aight, will do! Anyway, what I was saying, why would you want to have the feed show up in colour anyway?
  7. Why would you want to have the feed show up in colour anyway if you don't mind me asking?
  8. So how did you do it, you adjusted the density/brightness of the whole file? Isn't the black area affected as well, e.g. does it turn dark grey-ish?
  9. By PS files I meant the Photoshop files. I was actually hoping you have a unique layer for every light blob..
  10. Appreciate the attempt! Would you mind sharing the PS files with the layers in it so others can easily modify it to their own taste, instead of starting from scratch?
  11. Aries, actually. :)
  12. DCS World 2 WHEN??? In short, alpha at Jun 30 2015 latest, I'll leave the estimation for the beta and final up to you.
  13. Flag, I've read that as well, However, I recall reading Raytheon started production of the E2/L halfway 2014. So far I have no other conclusions that the operational laser MAVs used in Afghanistan in the recent years (you can Google images of 10C's with laser MAVs in 'Stan) must have been E models. EDIT: Headshotted by Panzerd81
  14. As far as I know non-laser guided, or optically guided missiles, cannot lock on to laser spots. I think you are mixing up the idea of using the laser to generate an accurate Mark Point and then slave the EO/IR Maverick to the Mark Point. But then the missile itself still has to be able to generate a lock, it cannot simply copy the coordinates of the Mark Point and reference these without a visual lock. I'm sure I'm not using the proper terminology but I'm confident you get my point. This topic has a fair chance to suddenly vanish into the world of deleted topics anyway since that happened to other Mav E topics as far as I recall so no point in writing pages of theory on the Maverick here.
  15. Word around the campfire was that their agreement with the military and/or defence industry did not include modeling of the laser guided Mavericks. When a few community members suddenly 'unlocked' the Mav E via a small mod DCS World was not the product anymore that was agreed upon. I once took a small look into what ED has removed to make the Mav E suddenly unavaible but didn't spend much time on it. I might pick that up again to see if I can re-implement the missing entries from an older installation source.
  16. Both the EO and IR sensors of the AGM-65 cannot 'see' the laser spot. What you are looking for is the laser guided AGM-65E/E2/L which are designed to home in on the laser spot. The Mav E is present in DCS yet not selectable for player controlled A/C. Back in 1.2.4 or so a small mod made the laser guided Mav available for the A-10C with all functionality included but then ED decided to screw us over and block that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGM-65_Maverick#Variants Don't take details on the Wiki for granted but you can still use it for the overview of variants.
  17. Blooze, could you give me quick run down on which parameters set the general colour of the lights and which ones set the intensity. EDIT: Nevermind, I think i've already figured out how it works.
  18. Depends on how sophisticated the modeling of air is in DCS. ;) In all seriousness, you're probably right. Now that I'm thinking of it, I wonder if actual air/sea simulations exist of which you only have to change the density to switch from water to air with all aerodynamics still in effect. Maybe only some military grade project but then you wouldn't really need that as it's unlikely the same simulator is used for watercraft and aircraft.
  19. You do know air and water are the same thing, right?;)
  20. Check the Youtube tutorials by Fish (nickname of Gerry Abott) and the Bunyap On The Range series. The latter also produces loads of clips for various AC so you'll have to manually filter out the non-A-10C clips. Furthermore the clips by the 476th vFG will provide insight on actual TTPs but those might be a bit too much at first although they are great, judge for yourself. :)
  21. I suggest using exclusive mode anyway.
  22. Hey, as long as you don't change the commercials I think we're all good. :D
  23. I will try this mod later today because the current jiggle feels over-done. Is it possible to have your jiggle mod turned on by default instead of after tapping the jiggle key 3 or 4 times? EDIT: From analysing the code I gather the jiggle is fully mathematically pre-scripted and is not affected by actual factors like air pressure, turbulence, AoA, etc. Am I right?
  24. Thanks xaoslaad. Pman, I am aware of that, thank you.
  25. In many MP games, prior to joining a server running a map/mission which is not present at the local client's machine, the client downloads that map/mission. Often the user can run that map/mission himself from then on as a copy is stored locally. I imagine DCS works the same yet I can't find a cache where .MIZ files are downloaded to. Is it possible to copy the server's .MIZ file for my own future use by joining a session? I've noticed that joining a public server which is at that time running a map I don't have takes significantly longer so there must be some sort of downloading going on.
