I played this campaign a few years ago, and remember that at some points engine power and fuel were pretty tight. Gunship Huey usually needed a rolling takeoff, and I remember a mission with an unexpected trip to a nearby island where I barely had enough fuel left. Since then a new flight model was introduced, which greatly increased engine power but also fuel consumption. Was this campaign ever rebalanced for the new flight model? Should I use the new or the old one for the best experience?

fixed Mission 12 SLAM-ER shot down
gachatar replied to Kreutzberg's topic in F/A-18C Raven One: Dominant Fury campaign
Still happening. -
Oof. It will be a very hard decision if I'll want to buy the map that pretty much no one plays just for one campaign, even though Harrier is probably my favorite jet in DCS.

Hi, I'd like to request a small update. In the F-16 markpoints page, the inverted STPT text which tells you that your markpoint is selected as current steerpoint is not visible in the app. How to reproduce: press ICP 7 to enter Markpoints use the cursor ministick to move the target designator on the HUD (or targeting pod) to a location on the ground press TMS UP to designate a markpoint press ICP 0/M-SEL to set current markpoint as your steerpoint STPT should appear in the upper right corner of the DED (see attached image) EDIT: The whole HMCS alignment page seems to be nonfunctional too with missing text.

Great campaign as usual. I played all four of your campaigns and each of them are some of my favorites. The interaction with your wingman is particularly well done, with him suppressing radars with his HARMs to give you a window of opportunity to go in and bomb it. Unfortunately it follows the same trend as some of your other campaigns like the one for the F-18 where the first 8-10 missions are 10 out of 10 and truly amazing, and then you drop the ball and make some completely pants on head retarded and unrealistic suicide mission finales that sour the experience. I really had to force myself to finish the campaign and ended up using invulnerability for the last mission, which leaves a bad taste in the mouth, especially with the rest of the campaign being excellent. The last 2 missions have SAMs popping up and firing so fast that even with instantly sending the wingman with F10 to HARM them you still get shot down or they shoot down the flight you need to escort. Apparently I was supposed to find an SA-3 and SA-11 and take it out, in less than a minute after they turn on, before they just shoot down the strike package. That's not even enough for the HTS to narrow it down to a 10 nm zone. Well, with the rambling out of the way, looking forward to part 2 of the campaign and whatever else you make next.

It also affects Mk-82 and possibly Rockeyes, though that's harder to test. Bump because not being able to use Harrier's iconic feature of accurate dumb bombing with ARBS for months is really not cool. The gun is also inaccurate and consistently falls short (when in range), by the way.

fixed Invalid Username of Password (ED Website OK)

+1 It was a bit of a scare, changed my password on the site just in case. Still can't log in with either the old or new password. -

It's not a fault with the campaign. ED in their infinite wisdom decided that when the ILS is turned off for a certain runway (because the other direction is being used, for example), the inner/outer beacons are also disabled. And if the airport only has ILS from one direction and only one set of beacons, and the ILS is turned off because the wind is blowing from that way and the ATC wants you to VFR land from the other direction, none of the beacons will function. If the ADF needle points to a different direction, you picked up another beacon near to the non-functioning one that you wanted. For example Senaki outer is on 688 KHz while Maykop is on 682. Yes, it will get picked up from 300 miles through the entire Caucasian mountains just to make you miserable.

About mission 14's RPG
gachatar replied to Seabiscuit1985's topic in A-10C Operation Persian Freedom Campaign
Low clouds every now and then is a good challenge, but it would be nice if it wasn't literally half of the missions of the campaign. Come up with new ways to make it challenging other than low cloud+MANPADS. Other than that, one of my favorite campaigns. -
I'm thinking of buying this, does it have basic functionality on Syria? No terrain data is fine, but can it navigate to a given coordinate?

The only workaround I found was uncaging the maverick to lock on whatever nearby, even if it's the wrong target, then pressing undesignate to drop the TGP tracking and clear the target point. Without a target point you can now slew the maverick as normal and refine the target. If you increase the contrast on the DDI the maverick has a pretty clear image. Just be careful that you don't lose the target or mask the maverick or you'll have to find it again with the TGP.

I remember getting stuck on this mission at the part where you can choose to ask for more details. There are two choices for asking more details, at the first choice I chose more detailed explanation and on the second choice I said I got it already. Got stuck. Flied the mission again, declined more detailed explanation and it didn't get stuck.

Mission 8 JTAC doesn't respond
gachatar replied to JethroTundra's topic in F/A-18C The Serpent's Head 2 Campaign
Having the same problem. Not even the first time flying the mission, flied it a few months ago and had no problems. Tried both radios, preset and manual frequency. No reply after 20+ times trying to contact him. Supercarrier version. Do you have a script that activates the JTAC based on proximity? In the previous mission where you had to shoot a yacht, the trigger for getting close to Batumi didn't work as long as I was flying up at 40k feet for like 10 minutes. Had to go down to 20k feet before the mission proceeded. Only idea I have is that it might be a similar issue here. EDIT: Just flied the mission again. Did everything exactly the same, but stayed below 20k feet en route. The JTAC worked. -

Raven One takes place on the Persian Gulf map though.
