  1. Just tried BTF 9 twice and both times I had no instruction after takeoff. I flew to WP 4 and still nothing. The second time I just called up the ATC and landed. First ILS landing!!! Good practice anyway until we figure out why the instructor is AWOL. :)
  2. In BTF 8 when restarting the engine. I am following everything to the 'T' and the engine starts right up, still get a 'fail' from the instructor. I have a Cougar joystick and throttle so I can't control the engines separately (or can you?)
  3. Even in BTF 7, in three trys the clover leaf, still have no idea what I'm supposed to do, and the loop are both fails for me. But when I view them in the ACMI they look good to me. In BTF 6 the lazy eight was a fail. I was able to pass both missions though and move on. Right now I'm in BTF 8 and I'm trying to find out which emergencies to study for so I'm ready. I'm enjoying all the missions so far, this has been a great way to get back into A10C for me. I feel the money has been WELL spent, keep up the good work. My only advise may be more documentation or info or directions pointing what pages to read in the manual. Other then that, very nice. I would think instead of videos, ACMI docs would be better. Thanks!
  4. Which campaign would you guys suggest for someone's first A10c campaign. What I'm looking for is something that wouldn't be super hardcore right from the get go.
  5. Just getting back into A10 after being away from it for a while, finally upgraded my set up with a new CPU (i5 3570k) and new vid card (HD 7970). Didn't play any of these training missions before but last night I took the plunge and bought both. Played the first one today, took a few times to get through (mainly because I couldn't tell which way the switch for ILS was on/off) and I forgot the Pitot test twice, mainly because that was never on my check list before during start up, I usually turned that on right before take off. I know I'm a Johny come lately to these missions but I'm glad I finally decided to download them. GREAT FREAKING JOB!! Thanks! I'm looking forward to flying the others. Getting ready for the next mission. Lou 'Zeke'
  6. Hi, The Microstick on my Cougar Throttle is all of a sudden not working right. When I set it up as a Mouse it drifts down and I cannot stop it, and that's a pain when trying to use the computer normally. Also, if I use a profile that uses the microstick to input key presses, they stick and keep repeating the same commands. I've read that others have had these problems and was looking for a little advise about how to first clean the mircostick pot, and if that fails, where to buy a new one. I've e-mailed reddog from the old Cougar website, but I don't even know how old a post that is. Still no reply. Any advise would be appreciated before I tear into this thing... Thanks in advance, Lou
  7. Has anyone have a profile for the P51? I use "Viper's" file for the Hog, just wondering if anyone has done one for the P51 yet.
  8. Excellent mission, played this today twice. Once, my wingy and I did great, knocked out a lot of tanks, IFV's and AAA. Second time right after we took off we were attacked by Mig 31's. Did everything we could, couldn't figure out how to call in any Cap and were shot down ASAP. Fun stuff, great idea. I hope you do more. Played this with DCS World AC10.
  9. Hi all, With the information that we will loose our settings when installing the A10 World mod (downloading now) what stuff should we copy down? I use a Cougar joystick with a Foxy program from 'Viper' so I don't think that will matter but should we save our curves and such? Hope that question isn't to murky....
  10. Just getting back into DCS A10 and had my own very simple VAC profile that I used. Saw yours and checked it out..... All I can say is 'FREAKING AWESOME!' Great job!! and THANKS!
  11. Excellent stuff, as always. Just watched the TrackIR vid too, very helpful. Thanks a ton!
  12. Finally, heard those sweat words: "Transfer Complete"! Wasn't the very pretty but after 3 hook ups I filled her up from almost no gas to full. I spent the last couple of months practicing this off and on, but over the last week I really zeroed in on it. For all those having problems, keep practicing and then practice some more it is possible.
  13. Welcome aboard! Take your time and learn the systems one at a time. I just jumped into this sim also a few months ago after a long lay off of simming. There is a ton of information on this forum and a ton of nice folks here that are more then willing to help out. I had the manual printed at Staples for around $60. More then worth it!!
  14. Nice Vids guys, thanks! My problem is speed and altitude. I can hook up most of the time, but staying on is a bugger. Mostly end up to fast or too slow. Can't seem to find a sweat spot on the throttle. It always ends up right over the dedent in the throttle.
  15. I'm going to concentrate on ILS stuff this weekend, someone else posted a good vid on how to do this today, so with your missions and the vids out there it will make for a fun weekend.
  16. Ah, well that clears that up. Thanks!
  17. Is there a list anywhere that has which units in the sim are ELPRS capable?
  18. Hi Iceman, thanks for the mission. Should we be able to receive messages from the JTAC? He gives me me the UTM in the 9-line, but nothing comes over when he says 'stand by data'.
  19. Ok, Nate thanks but what 'Own ID' # should I use, 01 doesn't work.
  20. Here's an example on a mission I'm trying right now. Call sign is Hawg 11. what Group ID and Own ID should I enter in the TAD? I've tried leaving them at 01 and with changing the Own ID to 11. Neither worked. Bort # is 10, have no idea what a Bort # is.
  21. Been pulling hair (what's left). Before the last patch I was getting all the JTAC info on my TAD and the messages. Now I don't get the messages sent. My ID's are left to 01. How do I know if I have the right ID numbers punched in and were do you find that info before the flight? Sorry for such a numb question, but I couldn't find any answers via a search or looking at the manual.
  22. Nice JOB! Thanks!
  23. All UTM's have to be 6 numbers. Add a zero at the beginning if he only gives you two for distance or direction.
  24. Baggy, That's basically the same thing I do, saves a couple of minutes now. One other thing I do while waiting for the APU to spin up to 100% is turn on the radios and tune them in to the freq. I need. Saves a few more secs....
  25. Also you can turn on EGI and CDU before engine start. Alignment will be much faster this way and the EGI will align while you wait for the engines to start. I messed up earlier and said the CICU instead of CDU. Sorry.....
