I had the same thing happen to me last week, I just restarted the mission, but afterward I think I should have restarted the IIFFCC to see if that would have worked.
-
That's pretty wild, and cool that it would do that. Just finished this mission tonight, Grebs missions are great for getting to learn the sim!
-
Tried this tonight and it works: Marked all my 'Mark' points then set the Nav mode to 'Mark' using the UFC. Made one more 'Mark' point and they all were loaded and on the HUD then. Thanks to the guys who suggested this. Flew a long mission tonight, marked all the little buggers I wanted to use Mav's on and then made one more 'mark' point. Good to be able to do this again while starting on the ramp.

Don't I feel stupid.... I knew I used to be able to shut it with a click, YES the right button works. Thanks!
-
Well, that's what I get for rushing the start up and not checking my 'checklist'. Doh! Also, as long as we are talking canopy. Clicking the switch in the cockpit doesn't work for me, I have to use the keyboard, everything else works ok.

Here is a short track showing the problem I'm having with this. Happens every time. Hope this can be of help. Mark Points Test.trk

FlyingBrick, I'll have to try that, I can get the whole thing to work when I start a mission in the air, just have this problem when I start on the ramp. Slacker, I have a 'flightplan' with waypoints, I'm just trying to get into 'mark' mode so I can see them in the HUD and I can switch the TGP to the marks. Thanks guys!

Hi, I can do this when I start in the air in a mission but when I start on the ramp for some reason I can't seem to get into 'Mark Points' steer-point mode. I try using the UFC and turning the dial on the counsel. I'm sure I must be missing something. EGI is set before taking off and such. I can see the points being made in the CDU each time I press and make a new point. Any ideas?

Hi, Did you get your card yet installed, if so how goes it? I'm thinking of getting the same card installed on my system. Lou

uh.. whats difference between waypoint and steerpoint?
Zeke replied to bloomstomb's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
A 'Markpoint' can also be a Steerpoint. -
I agree 100% with the boom dude needing work! Take a look at some real life vids on YouTube of A10s refueling.

Speaking of trim: I have a Cougar HOTAS and the trim keys are mapped to the H1 Hat. For the love of me I cannot get the thing trimmed perfect. It's either to high or to low by just enough to mess things up. Any hints on trim?
-
Nice work, thanks!

What I did back in the Flanker days is just create a mission with one plane and then add yours next to it.
-
Great job, nice trk too. This should make SEAD in the A10 a lot more fun...

happened to me last night, I was driving around practicing and the EO timer said 34 minutes, I could not lock the MAV, in fact the mav screen in the MFD was just a picture of what the seeker was seeing, no cross-hairs or range bars on the left. I turned off the EO, waited a few minutes (gunned up some tanks), then went back and turned it on. Had to wait awhile but after that it worked and I was able to knock out a 23 with it. Worth the wait!! The tanks near the 23 were pissed.

Baggy, After you fire a Mav is the next one automatically slewed to the next Mark Point. When I do this, I find I have to hit China For Long for each Mav after I fire one.
-
Hey, that sounds like one of my hook-ups!!

I think that Trim is the biggest thing and controlling your speed. I just cannot get the thing to trim perfectly level, it's either to high or to low and I've tried everything I can think of. I can hook up for 5 to 10 seconds at a time and that's it. Good luck, it takes time to master. There are a couple of good treads on this already with some very good suggestions.
-
Did you zoom in with the TGP?
-
Yep, just flying around it's easy to trim out the plane, but I find trimming it for Air to Air refueling to be a real pain, just can't get it perfect.
-
Fellow Cougar users, What buttons are you using for your 'trim' buttons, I'm using 'Viper's' profile and like it very much. One thing I can't seem to get right is the trim functions in this sim. Not sensitive enough. Any special settings out there we can use to help out?

Well, I have to admit that even after reading that part (of which I printed out before and read through), I don't know how one would think that they would have to hit the NWS button. I was going by what a debrief in one of the refueling missions I have says to do, it said to open and close the door, and that is the only thing that worked before. I'll give the NWS button a shot, hope that works out, sure would be easy enough. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice, set my deadzone on the Y Axis to 4 from 7 and left the curve at 30, deadzone on the X is 7 still. Concentrated on the tanker this time and had my best one yet, although it still ended up in a disconnect, but it looked great to me, don't know what happened. I looked, and looked but I can't find a way to bind the air refueling cover to a keyboard key or keys. Since we have to close and open this which each disconnect it sure would be great to be able to bind this to a key. If real life the pilot could just reach over and close it (although in real life he wouldn't have to). I hate taking my hand off the stick to use the mouse for this. Waste of time. Getting there little by little. One thing I found is that by doing this a lot, my normal flying skills have increased also, it is much easier to hold a pattern in flight.

How do you set the tanker speed? In the ME? If so, how do you control that in a mission you can't edit. Thanks for your help!
