  1. Not a fan of third party tools that have features the game should come standard with. Especially with the restrictions people put on servers related to purity and exports. It also requires the server to set it up as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The E2 is a perfect candidate for CA. Doesn't need to be a flyable module. A single slot for radar operator that puts you in the belly of the beast and play as GCI on Blue Flag would be amazing.
  3. This is where the accuracy of cockpit models is going to become very important. Modules have not had to worry about accuracy before VR came along. They just had to look the part. But that luxury is gone now and there isn't any going back. From time to time there are threads with VR users stating that the cockpits are off. Usually its brushed aside but I can 100% tell you there are numerous things off and I'm not referring to just small inaccuracies. It runs the whole gamut from buttons, switches, dials, panels, pilot bodies, joysticks etc. Photogrammetry should be the absolute starting point for all future cockpit models. This would make the cockpits line up correctly for those building pits using measurements sourced online. There are enough pit and working with the real item nerds on this site that a photogrammetry db of cockpits and other items could be built.
  4. Server looks stuck on reset... Reboot?
  5. They are both just as important but they are two of two different contexts. One is very noticeable and in your face the other is more of a subtle but can be just as obvious when you're clearly aware of it existing. What makes them similar is that they very clearly and profoundly contribute to breaking the reality of the simulation of each aircraft. The Huey engine model is so absurdly abused by people that fly it and mission builders its just as laughable as the UFO flying Gazelle.
  6. Somethings always sounded off with the exterior sound. Especially when watching videos of the helicopter. Digging around the sound files it looks like the exterior sound is nothing but the interior sound gained up and without muffling. The module even ships with a sound clip that is more in tune with what you see in videos. C:Program FilesEagle DynamicsDCS WorldModsaircraftSA342SoundsEffectsRotor.ogg Rotor.ogg sounds a whole lot like this video at 3:10+. You can copy the above file and replace... C:Program FilesEagle DynamicsDCS WorldCoreModsaircraftSA342SoundsEffectsAircraftsEnginesSA342Engine.ogg The interior sound does sound more in line with what I've been able to find. 7. Limits as in exhaust temps not in the yellow, below 600, in order to fly?
  8. A fully loaded down Huey sling loading???
  9. Nobody flys Nevada... Telling someone to completely switch maps isn't a helpful answer.
  10. If you cant run an engine without a window thats pretty bad. Frankly I'm shocked there isn't a dedicated server because before you even get to the graphics portion you have to do the state engine and you obviously need a way of testing that so....
  11. What is up with both of these two being totally broken? Grass is nothing but a huge pile of glitter. Shadows (not flat ones) pop all over the place. Trees are the worst offenders. Buildings of you enable terrain object shadows also bounce all over the place. Just upgraded to a 1080ti and it's disappointing that I can enable these graphics but am probably going to shut them off because they are so broken. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The idea of Blue Flag like or dislike is not the matter of subject. My opinion is based on what actually occurs. Outside small bursts for an hour or so when a faction is down to its last bases the number of people connecting for that faction will generally remain low until full reset.
  13. You can wish people to have that attitude all you want but it wont change the reality of how most people act/think. If you find being stuck in one of 3 bases with 15 cap on your door step fun... You should realize that you're not a majority opinion. Especially with the low amount of lives fighters get. There is nothing to learn about being blasted out of the sky at wheels up btw. I'll take dealing with people giving up over a lack luster weekend of playtime.
  14. As much as I like seeing the map entirely colored with my factions colors the server should really have a limit to how much of the map can be controled. This weekend by Saturday morning blue controlled almost the entire map and it lasted all weekend. I saw plenty of people log on to play red yet when they saw the map status they just disconnected. It made for a boring weekend and I didn't play much because of it. If a faction controls 75% of a map at the end of the 3hr round it should hard reset. If you wanna give a random bonus farp or something to the faction that had 75% as a consolation prize for pulverizing the other faction idc.
  15. ED can dictate which mod a developer can and can not make. Yet they cant enforce a button standard?
  16. Normandy has tons of grass and it looks nice... How does the grass hold up in VR? The current grass isn't viable in VR with all its artifacts from transparency. Would be a shame to have to continue with grass off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Bald Mountain - https://goo.gl/maps/3Eg1uKKY5fx Wheelbarrow Peak - https://goo.gl/maps/cxb2W2tCcR62 Mt Irish - https://goo.gl/maps/Y2kxoRxyWzL2 If you don't see vegetation then I'd suggest having your eyes examined or I'd guess that you are flying in an area that is not representative of the larger whole.
  18. You people and calling Nevada barren are absurd. Flying around Google Maps and Google Maps VR shows you tons of desert vegetation.
  19. Hey yogi those look great! Yes please I would love those included with my other order.
  20. That is sadly the norm for software development companies and anything else is an oddity or wishful thinking.
  21. LOL! After all my years I've learned one single important fact... If a developer releases screenshots or talks about something you are almost 99% getting it that way. Rarely does it change. You're almost required to flip out and have a tantrum if you want any glimmer of hope that it will be changed. The "oh its pre-alpha blah blah blah" person... Well lets just say you could probably successfully sell them real-estate on the moon.
  22. It feels good. I'm still waiting on my cyclic, its been pushed two weeks back, before I can build a platform and hook everything up. Only information I can provide is without it hooked up. Pros: Packaging was great no worries once I had the box open. I'm a little surprised at how light it is. I expected it to weight more. Don't take that to mean it feels fragile though. The tubing is solid, looks like 1/8 in, and wont bend or dent unless you were to swing it like a baseball bat at something. The button box is nice 3d printed material with a slight fine sandpaper grit texture. The buttons feel solid including the start trigger. The base has very tight tolerances. I would say that even with the eventual wear it should hold up with little play. Cons: The coolie hat is a dangerous weapon with how pointy it is :) I might take some heat and melt some of the tip into a ball or just file a little of it down. I actually was surprised when I looked at pictures of the real button and how pointy it is. However the real one does have a small ball like tip to it. Instructions! I understand a lot of people that make/use these sort of things tend to have certain knowledge of things. I do not and while I don't mind having to learn, a pointer of where to start would be much appreciated. The new tutorial section on the website is a great first start providing that! I can't wait till I can fire this baby up. Yogi did a great job. Despite the language barrier there was good communication throughout the ordering process. We all know the flight sim gear market is small and when you find a provider things can be expensive and/or take forever to get in your hands. I was willing to pay a premium for a quality item in a reasonable time frame and I'm glad that's what I got. I'd buy from microhelis again, thanks yogi!
  23. The color of the NVGs in the new test images is a place holder while I work on the real major change(s) to the mod. The two main features of the updated mod are color corrections specific to brightness and the use of LUTs (look up tables). Being able to sample a photograph and mimic its color palette has long been my goal since I started the mod. I've to built a system that allows me to sample an image and generate a 2d LUT of which is then used by the NVG system for coloring the image. That way I don't have to fight back room colorists and directors about what green looks correct. I deal with that enough at work :). The attached image shows the sample on the left, sample generated LUT in the middle, and finally a rough (none of the brightness specific color correction enabled) sample of DCS. Creating your own personalized NVGs would only require you to generate a LUT image and place it in the NVG mod.
  24. The 104th server has a special kind of bone your fps going on that is unique to itself. Looking on the map you see 8000 objects sprinkled all over the place and start to understand whats going on. Plus I think clouds are turned on been a while don't recall. The 104th server is unplayable in VR so I don't even pay attention to it on the server list.
