Did you do a repair in between checking the box?

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
ricktoberfest replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I tried this mod both on 2.5.5 and 2.5.6 and didn’t really notice much of a difference in performance. Am I correct in my assumption that if my cpu is bottlenecked but my gpu is good then this won’t really improve performance much? What I’m getting at is most of the improvements that this mod does, seem to be gpu related, not cpu. -
You’ve already found the only fix I know of

I use a button combination for Viacom, but have the modifier button set up to activate simple voice attack commands. So if I want to use radios it’s 2 buttons to press together, if I want to raise gear I only press the first button and speak.
-
I definitely liked the old way better. Less intrusive.

can a control command respond to 2 different key commands? If you use a 3rd party app like joystick gremlin then you can I’ve got a button that does one thing in DCS, but the virtual button does something else, and a long press does something else So 3 commands possible with one button So the button is a modifier for DCS, also a button in joystick gremlin that works as a “finger lift” for the throttle in some aircraft, and when held down becomes the first stage of a 2 stage trigger

VAICOM PRO plugin for VoiceAttack First of all Hollywood just did an update like 24 hours ago. I had the no sound problem until I turned off audio redirect and then it worked fine. Make sure the DCS version is 2.5.6 before applying the new patch for Viacom. The steam version rolled back to 2.5.5

And where is this mod? Didn’t see it on ED site or forums. Maybe a link?

On the subject of VR Improvements... And so far they aren’t going to do VR. Trying to compare what we have here with what might come out in the future doesn’t make sense. DCS will continue to improve on ED’s timeframe. Especially when fs2020 is a civilian flight sim with no complex weapons.

I realize it’s been awhile since this happened, but a similar thing happened the other day when I was flying the f86, turns out my oxygen wasn’t on and gradually things were starting to go double vision and blurry. I thought it was my VR headset at first but when I clicked on the O2 it went away quickly.

I believe you have to press enter on each of the coordinates now to lock them in
-
The new profile was in the export folder of the plugin. You only had to import the 2 commands from that.

RTX 2080 Super VR optimization
ricktoberfest replied to killerquagmire's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This is VR. If you can keep 40 FPS min (depending on the headset) then you can fly very comfortably. -
Or spend $1500 for a pre-built version of whatever that egg shaped one is that mrtv showed off at ces2020 a couple weeks back. Still beyond my budget but beats having to build it from the ground up

I used a twist grip for a long time and it’s fine once you get used to it. Honestly the hardest thing about flying this chopper is learning how the trim works.

RTX 2080 Super VR optimization

I’m running a similar system with a Vega 64 and I think you and I are both cpu bottle necked. I get around 50-80 FPS in single player though, but it could be that I do smaller missions. On the 104th for multiplayer I’m lucky to get 40 FPS and down to 20 at various times. Ivy bridge is almost 10 years old by now and showing it’s age- even if it’s overclocked -
Bingo Fuel I find 2800-3200 works well as long as you don’t need to go full military power back and forth from your home base or carrier. (And assuming you can land on the carrier within a couple trys) And I climb to about 20000 on the way home

I’m new to this myself, but do you see in the voice attack window what you’re saying and a response from the program? Do you hear the mic clicks when you push the buttons?
-
It’s entirely possible I did this, as I have kept the subtitles on to begin with. I must have gotten confused between the text and audio.
-
On both the update and the hofix I cant seem to contact any tanker. I can say "Tanker options" and select the contact, but if I say "shell request rejoin" then it returns "flight rejoin" in the subtitles and the tanker doesn't prepare for refueling. I'm new to vaicom so I might be doing something wrong. I did get the radio manual programming to work though. I can contact my wingman just fine, and when I say it into Voice attack without DCS running is shows the correct contact (Shell) -I'm no longer in game- but see the command is Aproaching for refuel - even though I'm sure it worked the other way before the update. I'll check again later when I can again.

It’s in the controller settings for UI (I think). Just search VR and it will show up

Flying desert thunder, the script told me I had illegal weapons when the only AG weapons I had were rockeye. As soon as I got close to the waypoint it said something like because I have illegal weapons I’m being fired on. While I could dodge the SA11 all day I got hit by an amramm that I didn’t hear because of the constant RWR from the SAMs. If the rockeye or any CBU are illegal in that mission then the briefing doesn’t mention them. It only mentions GPS weapons

To be clear I was talking about the ability to see when you were ascending or descending better in VR, not a seat of the pants type feeling. Of course the instruments are important, but you can’t stare at the vertical velocity indicator the entire time or you’ll end up in a tree

Replacement Rudder Springs for T-Flight pedals?
ricktoberfest replied to ArkhamUK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I’ve used elastics bands before. Or hair elastics. If you double them up it and they’re small enough it can stiffen it up and doesn’t cost me anything as long as I don’t tell the wife and daughters where they went. -
I just got VR over the holidays and the Mi8 is definitely easier to keep out of vrs when I’m 3D. On a flat screen it’s sometimes hard to tell if you’re climbing or descending when in a hover or braking hard, but not nearly as difficult in VR.
