  1. Did you turn up the volume? It’s middle right panel labeled AUX (1 is for Betty, the other knob is for sidewinder/sidearm) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 2400, Vega64 @1080p
  2. If you're trimming in a dogfight I think you're doing something wrong. Just use the stick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 2400, Vega64 @1080p
  3. Easy - it's not ready yet. Either because the software is too buggy or the hardware production isnt up to speed yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 2400, Vega64 @1080p
  4. GPU or CPU? I take it back I might have a bit of a ram bottleneck that the faster ram helps with but today I'm back down to mid 50s, so it could be server traffic too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 2400, Vega64 @1080p
  5. Interestingly, yesterday I upgraded from 16Gb of DDR3 1600 to 16Gb of DDR3 2400, both low latency. Although my upper end FPS hasn’t changed, on the low end (usually starting at an airport on a multiplayer server) went from low 40’s to low 70’s. It’s actually a bigger jump than going from my GTX770 to a Vega64. Unfortunately I’m pretty much at the end of what I can further improve without going to a new motherboard/cpu/ram combo. Hopefully it’s enough for a simple VR setup when the new ones come out in the next few months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 2400, Vega64 @1080p
  6. Hmm. Just for clarification I found the article again and it was about Crysis 2 putting tessellation on flat surfaces and water meshes that were underground and not rendered (possibly to give Nvidia cards an advantage as at that time they had faster tessellation than AMD did) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  7. Any chance you have a link to that please? Searching on my phone through Tapatalk just brings up any conversation that’s mentioned water. I’d like to read up on this some more. I do remember way back there were issues with this that got fixed (maybe even before DCS world 2). I was just wondering if water settings on high had a performance impact even in Nevada where there is almost no water and being stuck at work can’t check Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  8. Was just reading an article about an unnamed game that put massive tessellation on everything including unrenderred water that got me thinking about the water in DCS. When my textures are slow to load in when joining a multiplayer server, the ground starts off as water. Will my water setting on HIGH be rendering that water underneath all the regular terrain that loads up on “top” of that water? Therefor having an effect on performance even if there is no visible water nearby? Or does DCS stop rendering the water underneath the ground textures? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  9. Use the dot labels option and change them to show in black for friendly or enemy. Then you have a chance spotting, but you still need to get close enough to IFF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  10. If it helps, with my i5 3570k clocked at 4.5 ghz and a Vega 64 I’m getting 40-70 FPS multiplayer and much higher single player. Over locking your i5 2500 should be a simple matter of 2 changes in your bios and I'm sure you could easily get to 4.2Ghz on air cooling. In my bios i simply changed the cpu multiplier to 45 and voila-4.5 ghz. If you only have a stock cooler I would start a bit lower and watch the temperatures, and slowly increase until you either hit the cpu wall or you feel uncomfortable with the temperatures. I've had mine overclocked since new (5 years) with no issues Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  11. GPU or CPU? I would also try over clocking your cpu into the 4Ghz range. I just upgraded my video card and while I get better details and less stuttering my frame rates didn’t change too much from before. Just more consistent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  12. Stable or open beta? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  13. I also run on a 3570k and just upgraded my gpu from a gtx770 to a Vega 64. Because of this I was running dcs with the AMD Radeon overlay on while I experimented with undervolting and such. One thing I noticed is while loading up a multiplayer server my video ram increases beyond the 8Gb my card actually has available to over 9Gb (and once to 12Gb). When loading up a mission the loading goes very quick until it gets to the end, then seems to pause for a bit. This is the part where both my Vram and regular Ram increase in size so I’m assuming that the server (104th) has lots of ram eating scripting or objects. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  14. Trim the elevator down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  15. It depends how dark it is. If it’s dusk or just before sunrise then you’ll see more. If it’s midnight then you for sure need night vision goggles as the lighting in game is not enough Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  16. It comes with a "mini campaign" of 5 or 6 cold war Era missions (1980s) and then there are many single missions that Wags has been releasing lately Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  17. Kinda- they are the first to really bring it to the masses. There are compromises with all of these headsets. I've also been looking at the odyssey+ but of course I'm interested in new products too, and some reviewers have said the screen door effect is smaller in the rift s. For example, Acer just announced a headset that fits in this catagory too. I've been waiting for the ability to read gauges in VR before I pull the trigger. I can't afford to buy a new one every two years- or have multiple headsets like some others do, so when a cheaper headset comes out that does this stuff then yes I'm excited by it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  18. For those with little money and older computers like me, that won't run the reverb or pimax Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  19. Simple radio doesn't seem to disconnect from a server when you do. If you manually hit the disconnect button, the next time you enter a server with SRS it will reconnect to the new server (assuming they have autoconnect enabled). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  20. I don't know about others here, but many people don't have the opportunity to try first. Not many stores carry these products outside the USA and even when they do you're trying them on someone else's computer, on stupid demo games, so it never matches up with your own system on a true simulation like DCS. The only option I would have is to order the product and then return it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  21. I’ve also been looking at AMD. Wait for a month or 2 until zen2 is released and then compare as it’s supposed to level the field as far as single core performance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  22. Thank you for this quick note. Does the lower refresh rate affect anything? I’m looking to get into VR and this looks fairly cheap and decent for someone like me with an older computer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  23. Or make the JTAC invulnerable and invisible to the enemy. Then the tanks will still fire on you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, Vega64 @1080p
  24. Anyone wanna gift me their excess Persian Gulf map now? Sigh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, GTX770 @1080p
  25. I don't think so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 1600, GTX770 @1080p
