  1. It was a joke. I don't think F-35A has longer landing runs than any other jet so most of the airfields in Denmark would do fine. However, I think that Chazz_BMF made a joke considering the overall size of Denmark where having a 3.000m airstrip means violating neighbouring borders during final and takeoff.
  2. Unfortunatelly probably to use 'em as target drones (QA-10) just as what just happened to early F-16 blocks. USA should attack Syria for some A-10 swan singing... :music_whistling:
  3. What's with the smoke in the cockpit?! Pressurization?!
  4. That's why they'll buy more expensive VSTOL version of it...
  5. This also means that Raptor was guided by AWACS datalink not by constant use of it's onboard radar which would probably scare Phantoms away ot at least warn them of Raptor's presence in the area. Yet again Raptor's APG-77 radar was engineered to counter planes like Flanker and Fulcrum which work in similar fashion and have similar RWR sensitivity as Iranian F-4s...Single radar paint from APG-77 should detect a 1m^2 target at 100 miles so a single "ping" every 2 or 3 minutes for the real time update is all it took to make an intercept.
  6. LOL! I believe Iranian F-4 was unarmed 'cause otherwise pull up on her wingtip while making jokes is a bit cheap way to lose a Raptor.
  7. It's a T-10K with tailplanes removed. Can't remember it's bort but I've got a photo somewhere taken during my MAKS 2007 visit.
  8. ^^^^ That's a Ghost, so he ain't dead as I thought!
  9. That's a Georgian POW in there...
  10. What about having more that one IRST sensor... Depression / elevation angle shouldn't be a problem if you have one in front of the canopy & the other one under the nosecone...they can be calibrated or "fusioned" in such manner where canopy mounted IRST scans the upper hemisphere and the other one scans lower hemishpere.
  11. You all seem to miss a fact that Mi-17 is a transport helicopter so the 'chutist is not necessarilly the piilot himself...
  12. I must admit that wreck falling from the sky was pretty high when it got hit...
  13. ^^^^ Vulcan is 20mm.
  14. Some good reading up there... Thanks!
  15. R.I.P.
  16. It's a twin engine jet, look at the exhaust smoke(s)...so it must be Su-24.
  17. Well, although it seems he's operating his camera from some distance it's very intimidating seeing 4 bombs heading your way.

  19. Someone should let this guy know it's not the Alah... ...it's Su-24: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1li_GnefpM
  20. I'm sure there's few good reasons causing Warthog retirement. One of them must be the F-35... :music_whistling:
  21. I took a flight from Treviso to spend this weekend in Bucharest Romania, here's few photos from Pitesti Muzeul Aviatiei. I was sad to see MiG-29 SNIPER in such a sad condition, I rememeber it from airshows in early 2000s...
  22. One of the main reasons of such results is in the planning. YuAF Fulcrum pilots, i suppose same can be said for Ser bian pilots never trained or planned such scenarios where enemy Awacs sees better areal picture than Gci radars located few miles from battlefield. Lack of spares, sticktime and tactics sure helped a lot. Most of the Allied pilots had more stick time per person tha n all of the Fulcrum pilots together. I was away from FC And DCS for 9 or 10 months and man it took me two or three weeks to get back into button mappings of my HOTAS.
  23. Unlike 2007, 2009 and 2011 i'll unfortunately have to skip my visit so i expect lots of pics and vids here.
