I have their latest, and installed it again, thinking mine got screw up somehow.. gotta go do some more testing now... I will go look at the Saitek forums, to see if anyone discusses any bugs for the Win8 version.. usually no new news there.. thanx.. :joystick:

Since the latest DCS patch, my FC3 A-10A Modules has problem controls. I used to be able choose my Saitek controls with my FC3 aircraft, and fly with any profile I have the profiles set for the F-15C, A-10A, SU-25, Migs, etc.. but now the A-1oA is al messed up.. the F-15C seems ok,, plus I Have all modules installed except CA. I can't figure out why the A-10A got so messed up, I still have not tried all aircraft since the latest patch upgrade, like the Migs, the P-51 etc, but the Ka-50 seems ok also, I think the SU-25T is ok... I just can't figure out why all the problems stared, I have saved my control profiles over the years. It is not easy and is very time consuming setting up the control profiles, even though I use the Saitek profiling software program along with some settings in the DCS control panel. I use Windows 8. I use the latest Saitek software, drivers etc.. Anyone else have problems with some aircraft and not others since the latest patch? I know I need to read more thread,, a of of reading. so far, your is the first feedback for the latest NVidia drivers I have seen.. for flight sims.. 314.07. Plus since I have Win8, and read the official reviews,, I really need reviews from actual flight sims.. they never put flight sims in the official reviews, at least none I have seen from either AMD/Radeon or Nvidia... I am so tempted to try them... I just hate going back though my settings to make sure everything is set right.. I know my GTX460 Nvidia is a couple years old,, but I just put it in a brand new computer I built,, and am so tempted to give them a try.. :joystick:

I had a run in with a bunch of enemy planes. While sight seeing in my F-15C. The A-A missles on my Eagle must be different in the new patch, they did a little sight seeing themselves instead of going directly to the targets, even the SU-25's were not scared... It's no longer as easy as it was, but, it always has been a challenge to get close to the Migs.... :joystick:

after 12 hours of running the update I gave up, had to reboot computer, now updater seems to be working, and the updater looks like it is progressing slowly.. :joystick:

I have a seeder up, at full speed to help people, while I await the updater to work.. :pilotfly:

sorry didn't see that info in a sea of threads,,, plus the health and eyes aren't working so good... I will wait for that then,,, no way I am going through the activations again, at least until my new computer breaks, hopefully before me... Thank you, for letting me (us know,, it should be a sticky.). That the auto-updater will work soon... IMHO :thumbup:

The autoupdater confused me too,, I thought (it was an auto-updater)... but apparently... I must have to do the old way... I hope when I run the new files it updates,, I just burned down to my 5th activation in 2 weeks because of my Win8 upgrade fiasco,, (in another thread), long extensive discussion about Win8, and activations, and accounts in Win8.

Question to those with Win8 and DCS? Windows 8, seems to be a different beast with account. log on account, admin accounts, accounts tied to e-mail, etc.. and when I went to change from my admin account and use an account I had tied to Hotmail... DCS acted like I was a new user, or it was a different computer, and wanted new activations,, in Win7 (before I upgraded) I did not have al the activation problems. I did not have new hardware or software, I only had changed my user account. I think** I made a huge mistake by using my Hotmail account... Win8 has choices asking if you want to use a *local account** or other account,, and me not knowing the repercussions ended up burning activations, because when I fired up DCS is started demanding new activations.. I truly never saw this behavior until Win8. It was a mess and really cannot explain very well the mess. Only that the less types of personal accounts , even as the owner, admin, etc,,, can make it a nasty experience.. and if I try top explain in the forum, some people don't understand and think I did some boneheaded thing.. with Win8, even if you don't deactivate, and change from user to admin.. DCS thinks you are doing something bad and demands new activations, with each module. Just sayin' Maybe there needs to be a stickie made to alert people who go to use Win 8,,, the things that can happen... or might happen,, or not... I don't know,, but maybe someone who know enough to explain Win8 upgrade and DCS can explain it all better,, and save people from a mess.. IMHO :doh:

this wasn't about LOMAC.... that is all done and said years ago,, this has to do with instead of being easier with modules, it turned into another dance.. and having to still install older versions unless you buy ful versions, and not buying upgrades.. and if you look sides, the software wants another activation, because you change an insignificant detail; in your files.. for instance,, Win8 ties with your MS live account *Hotmail). I decided to change from my nickname to my real name to simplify my files, 'users/steven/files....' well, Win8, locked me out and I had to call Microsoft to re-activate my windows, al because I stupidly decided to change from my nickname to my real name so it would be better with my file structure. The software picks up the name you use and inserts it into many programs,, Office, e-mail, etc.. Then, al the DCS programs also made me use another activation, even though I wasn't changing software or hardware, only my nickname to my name.,.. stupid me, had no idea my computer was going into meltdown.. and al these programs were freaked out over something so benign... so I burned about 3 activations in a week al because when I upgraded I had no idea the chain of events would unfold... just to do a simply upgrade and install.. and have all programs treating me like BlackBeard the frakkin pirate.. that's all... it's not about LOMAC... :cry:

THe DCS 'install dance'. Just like the old Falcon 4 dance... whenever I have to install the DCS series.. Then since I first purchased BS1, then BS2 came out, and I got the BS2 upgrade,, I have to always make sure I install BS1 first. With FC3, I have to I have to find my old LOMAC disc.. en though I have purchased and flown LOMAC, FC1, FC2, and now FC3. I know you say, well how often do you install DCS. Well with al the upgrades, conversions, and having top upgrade computers to be able to fly newer flight sims, I have to say more than I thought I would. I have to make sure I have all the software, find the licenses, and fight the error messages telling me it won't activate because.. then it snowballs from there until I keep searching for the serial numbers, activations, etc..etc.. Now, even though I have been working both professionally and privately with computers most of my life.... I don't write software... plus my health is bad, and it is tiresome to work through anything.. Why can't the code recognize I have a license for an earlier version, instead of making me install LOMAC from 1998. Or Install BS1 both the 3rd generation of Black Shark I b DCS. I know this has been discussed and talked about... but only other choice is buying new copies of what we already own. I know that they go on sale, but if I did that with everything, I would not have money left for anything else. Please... please! make the install code just let us install the new version without installing the old version,,, as the upgrade,, let it say, maybe just ask for V.1 serial number, then V.2, V.3.. etc... now I have LOMAC. and BS1, which serve no purpose, after only installing to satisfy DCS and the others to show my upgrades see I have V.1 from 15 years ago. I finally was able to do an upgrade to a very old and screwed up computer, for my wife, and upgraded mine too.. and have spent countless hours fighting error messages, activations... and activations, over activations... I still have been able to enjoy one flight sim because the whole time has been this stuff.. and I see why we need at least a 1TB disc,, you have to install the old stuff going back to the first cave paintings.. or bypass upgrades and spend extra for the whole new version,, and no upgrades.. And to top that off I bought Win8, it was cheaper to upgrade Win8, than Win7. Win8 is more Anal than Win7, as far as security. But you can find **stuff* on the Internet that actually let you work with files. Gives you permission to move, rename, delete... **gasp** it has come to the point to where you cannot even work with files with only being the owner and administrator. **unless you find the hack** that let's you. Back top DCS,, please... let DCS see you have previous versions without a lengthy process of raising the Titanic to prove your baby shoes are still there.. IMHO

I am giving up,, all it ever does is take pictures of desktop stuff.. and if I try to alt-tab in and out it does the same thing,,, these programs will not let you take snapshots in game menus,, only desktop.. they fight you... and by the time you click your way back to the menu... you cannot click the area to snapshoot.. if you are in the snapshot program, you have to get back to the menu, and when you click on the game that is your snapshot,,, so you waste it on clicking on the game (which in turn, is just another snapshot of the desktop),, a viscous circle... might as well just bring out my digital camera... thanx anyways... :doh:

How to take screenshot of in game menu? I am trying to take a snapshot of ingame control settings for a fellow pilot. But, with all the utilities, hypersnap, snagit, printscreen, DCS (control settings) which you can save them as an ini file , will not let me do this.. I looked on the Internet, and they keep telling me taking snapshots in games work with pc's etc.. but I want a snapshot of the menu, and most of the tutorials, are worthless and suck up a lot of time to say nothing useful. Anyone know the best and easiest way? thanx..

good thread, sorry for bringing back to life.. but it ain't real old.. it's time to upgrade.. my old computer cannot handle DCS any longer.. in a few weeks I need to shop and like the Asus motherboard... need a new I-5 cpu. The wife gets my old computer which will be fine for her,, :joystick:

IL-2 1946 is still rocking big time! get that, and it's cheap! and if you want,, get him online with others... or you can even get more expansions... it's limitless... and they still offically patch it often... and it covers the world, and has planes from every country and tons of maps.. and is easy on the computer power.. IMHO

I looked at Gerry video and trackir and he is excellent at shwoing what can be done.. I kept fumbling and through his work and edication and nive vdeo titorials.. I really appreciate his work and what can be done with knowledge on sims and TrackIR.. they should hire him... IMHO Thank you Gerry :pilotfly:

there are used (not sure about new) 'original lomac disc' on places like eBay, Amazon, etc, cheap... just sayin' :joystick:

I suspect that the mission originally came from a freind who has combined arms and the trigger scripts have those incorporated..... and since I do not have combined arms,, I got some popup errors... in FC3/DCS/etc... I just want to stop those popups,,, they interupt the game. I need to stop those and let the erros just be written to the logs.. how do I stop the popups when an error occurs in the lua.. thanx :joystick:

I took an exisiting mission from DCA, add FC3, and F-15C,,, and soemtimes I get a small error windows that pops up saying saomthing about a PUA sript error. I don't have a current picture, but it is a little square white box that comes up int he midde of the mission, when apparently seomething in the scipt brings this error. It looks just like those window error windows that is maybe 2x4 rectangular and white... like other window errors like when an operating system gets an error. I wil post a picture of next time it happens.. it happens often.. MY guess it is a botched attempt I made at adding script for the F-15C, added to existing scripting, with triggers for other aircraft and ground units... conditions, etc... I really wish this window would not popup,,, as it ruins the mission, because I have to go out, close the window to continue my mission... not sure what I have turned on that cuases script errors to bring that window up.. :doh:

hmmmmm.... Thanx for the help.. so, grabbing the A-10 Cockpit and changing those lua files, etc.. I guess I will wait for a SEAD aircraft,, again, we use the SU-25T with the AGM missles to hit Sams... until the Allies get a proper SEAD aircraft,, the A-A-10C (or even A-10A) help, but they don't have SEAD. Hopefully by the end of Summer 2013, we might get one... Since I fly online a lot, I am not going to mess with the code... In Black Shark we added some anti-ship missles in custom loadout... But, I completely understand the cockpit doers not have the ability to fire off weapons systems that are not part of the package.. just wasn't sure if you put them on a hardpint and launch them,,, but yes, would have to be able to assign a target, etc..etc.. :doh:

I don't know... :huh: I just remember, when I need to eject, I eject.. I never noticed having to mess with any covers.. and saw these eject cover commands, 1,2,3... and wondered.. wth?? how did I do all those ejections over the years and not notice the cover commands?? :doh:

Why would one want command to eject power cover? actually there is power cover 1,2, and 3. I was looking at eject commands and saw these, and wondered why? I guess I need to try it to see what happens?

When I fly the F-15C in FC3, the Comms menu does not come up... I had tried different settings.. I don't understand why it doesn't. Which also means I can't use any of the features tied to the comms menu. The key '\' is used. The is the usual key for comms in all my aircrafft. I have BS, P-51-D, A-10C, installed. I have not checked all aircraft, to see if it not coming up in any others, and am going to very soon. The 'FC3' F-15C Start-up is also not coming up like it used to. Right now, I just start each engine and off I go. Instead of the big start from dead start sequence, like I have always done. What is going on?? :huh:
