I have to agree with Groove. There are revisions of the GTS and GTXs coming out soon that are supposed to be much better than the current versions. Plus the 8800GT is surpassing the current GTS versions already (sounds crazy, but it's the way it is). Plus mainstream versions of the next generation of intel quad cores should be out in Q1 2008.

Could you describe the crashes? Like what does it result in (crash to desktop, reboot, freeze?), and when it happens (on mission start, randomly, etc)?

I think Ramstein is referring to the fact that Erdem said 'teta-testers' instead of 'beta-testers'. Teta-tester (pronounced Tayter-tester) - Tata-tot!

1) Some of the demos don't work in v1.12a/b. It states which ones aren't in the demo video menus. 2) You need to turn on the electrics before starting the engines. I think it's Shift-L? Check your key setup in the options. Also, make sure your throttle is at idle before starting the engines! Otherwise you'll be going through the startup procedure again, only after the engines have stopped spinning - and that takes time! 3) Erm, this might just be cause when the aircraft is parked. Probably won't happen when using the flaps after the engine is started. Never had the problem of tipping over when putting the flaps down : P 4) There was a recent thread on this, which includes a fix I think. It's on this forum somewhere. Boberro: perhaps your problem might be forgetting to start both engines? That would cause a yaw problem and cause the HUD to show a turn to the left or right? Not sure, just throwing a suggestion in there!

Try a different monitor cable if possible. Or if you've got two output ports on the video card, try plugging the cable into the other.

You could always try running both the Saitek and CH button mapping software at the same time?

I had the same problem using a 7800GT some time ago, so it's not just an 8800 issue.

I'm afraid it's a bug that Lock On has with nVidia cards (and apparently sometimes with ATI cards). You just have to set shadows to one less in the settings (can't remember the name of it now: 'All Planar'?)

I don't think it's a completely accurate indication. I like A2G mostly, but going into a Su-25T or A-10 in a mixed server where absolutely no teamwork is happening usually results in getting your ass handed to you on a platter. Many times have I given up and switch to A2A just to increase my survivability. You're right, a majority of the community does only like A2A (and I do not think it's anywhere near the 95% mark) But to say that A2G fans are less deserving of a good product is just...completely unfair, and I don't think anyone has the right to say something like that.

lol. I like how people think they know what's good for ED and the community. On the other point, some people don't do things just because it would be simpler. Some people like to set themselves challenges to go beyond what others have done in the past. It's called personal development.

I don't think it really matters. To say that ED should primarily concentrate on A2A products is extremely demandy. My opinion is that most of us here are interested in COMBAT AVIATION, which covers a range of operations, not just A2A. There are plenty of people around that enjoy both A2A and A2G. The fact is you still have Lock On and I'm sure ED will bring out A2A products for DCS at some point.

I'm sure that's the kind of thing the movie was insinuating! :P
