I should be more helpful and comment on the cases you mentioned in your original post :P I don't think the first one will give you enough cooling for a quad or extreme duo, especially if you're going to overclock. An 8800 is going to increase the inside temps dramatically aswell. Therefore reduce your overclocking ability without excellent air flow. The second one looks waaaay too small. especially if you're going to have a Tuniq tower and next generation vid card. The DX10 ATI cards are rumoured to be longer than the 8800s!! The third one, even though you think is ugly, looks quite big and looks to have excellent air flow. But 4 120cm fans on the side might make it a bit loud. The 25 cm fan on the side window od the Thermaltake armour would be quieter.

You mentioned the Quad, so none of us want to play no more :D Have you had a look at the Thermaltake Armour? It might be higher than the budget you stated. I'm not sure because I only search UK stores. I think it costs around £130 here. I mention it because it's a full tower with plenty of intakes/exhausts, including a 25 cm fan in the side window. It will definitely fit the Tuniq tower in (I hear it's quite tall and has some trouble fitting in some cases) Here it is: http://www.thermaltake.com/product/Chassis/fulltower/armor/va8003bws.asp I have the Thermaltake Tsunami and love it. Very good quality. I think my next build would be in the Armour. Unless something better comes along by then :P

Haha, I don't know how a thread about new BS screenies turned into a joke thread, but I just found this one and couldn't help myself: Two young people making love whilst listening to a punk album. Girl says 'Is that Johnny Rotten?' Fella says 'No, I've only used it twice!' Boom boom ching!!

Hahahahaha. Ah, Leppard brings back so many memories.... A bit off track, but one of my faves: Q/ How do you know when a drum kit is level? A/ The drool comes out of both sides of the drummers mouth.

I'm back in (what was formerly know as) the USSR. lol

Aye, the pics do like nice indeedy. So when's it coming out? :P Lovin the flamage from the gun barrels!
-
Much better! Looks really nice, especially the last two screenies. The skin is very detailed. Can I make a suggestion though? The new afterburner cone by Kys is the shiznit. I recommend it be downloaded! :P

Hehe, I don't even see that!!

Have a look at your Graphics settings in the Lock On options menu. Have you set water to high? If so, try setting it to Medium and run the mission again.

Yeah, I felt the same about the Clip. Used it for a week, thought it was great, then it just wasn't performing very well. Haven't used it in some time, but might dig it out and give it another try soon...

Sorry to digress from the original topic, but can you please tell me how you get that scenery background in the payload screen?

There is a window you can open (it's in the same menu as 'Heads' and 'Gauges'), but I can't remember what it's called, because I am at work right now. Open that window and it should show you all of the light sources that the TrackIR is detecting. If it is just showing the Track clip, remove it, and see if any other sources show up in the window. My point is that maybe the TrackIR is detecting another light source (from a window, lamp, etc) and it's affecting the performance of it. I sometimes get weird results with my TrackIR when the curtains behind me are open and the sun is shining in!!!

Need some X52 setup help!
thereminqblank replied to Maulkin's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I think Rotator 2 is the joystick twist axis - normally used for rudder. If you want to assign an axis/wheel/rotary to a function: select the function, click change, and then perform a movement across that axis. EG, turn the rotary dial of your choice on the throttle, and Lock On should detect the movement. -
I get the same thing with nVidia drivers!!

X52 Throttle + CH stick doable?
thereminqblank replied to 3Sqn_Fudd's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
There is a recent thread on the CH Hangar forums regarding this idea. A couple of people have posted saying that they use this set up and there are no problems. The only drawback is that you can't use the shift function on the throttle, but it works on the stick. -
That has actually crossed my mind. I haven't been playing LOMAC for very long, and haven't even begun to do some 'sight seeing', but I think I will be doing plenty in the Ka-50 - especially in those harbour towns I have spotted! :D
-
Cool thanks :) Wasn't sure if it could be done. But I think it would be easier to do in a slower moving helo, and probably more necessary at times!
-
Just a question on top of your question: I have been wondering if MANPADs can also be taken out by the helo? I haven't tried it in FC, usually because I'm moving to fast in the jets to pinpoint exactly where the MANPADs are. I think when Black Shark is finally in my grasp my helo will be floating around for a while so that I can take a close look at these awesome vehicles!!

You know Simware has the CH fighterstick and pro throttle as a package for 305 euros? surely you can get it shipped to your location? I have the X-52, but I really think that it's not as accurate as it could be. So I have been looking at other options!

Hey Blaze. It's a little cold and rainy here in London, has been all week!! Thanks for the figures. Yikes!! Everyone keeps saying how expensive it is to mod the Cougar, but I never thought it would be that expensive! I might have to go with the CH fighterstick. I'm actually planning on going to New York in September, and I notice that the CH stuff costs HALF THE PRICE than in the US than it does in the UK. So I may just wait to pick up a set then :)
-
lol....would you mind telling me how much? or does your wife read these forums?? :) I'm pretty lucky, I'm not married to my other half, so I just receive disapproving looks when I spend too much money.... no broom beatings as yet!
-
Where do you guys get mods for the cougar? And how much do they cost? I'm thinking about upgrading to either the cougar or CH combo. From what I can gather, the CH stuff works really well right out of the box, and the cougar looks great but needs expensive modding to work well.
