  1. Agreed but OP wanted it simple with as little interaction with CDU. Cheers Hans
  2. Then I think we are one the same page. The method I describe doesn't require entering any coordinates. In fact he doesn't even have to change the name of the Mark Point before making the flight plan. Simply make all the mark point, go to the flight plan. punch in letter A and press LSK3 where it says []01. Type letter B and press LSK5 where is says []02. and so on. Cheers Hans
  3. Hi Slydog, Please bear with me as I may be misunderstanding what you are trying to achieve. First of all as you probably already know your current SPI is shown in the lower left side of the HUD. What I read is that you want to make your flight plan based upon Mark Points you make on your TAD (Tactical Awareness Display)? That is definitely possible. With TAD as SOI, slew the TAD cursor where you want to make the Mark Point and press TMS right short to make the Mark Point. The CDU will automatically show last Mark Point entry, e.g. MARK A for the first. You can now change the name for something easier to remember, e.g. DEP (Departure) and press RLSK3. Name of the Mark Point will now change name to DEP. You can also change the Elevation of your Mark Point so that you have something in the air to fly at. Repeat the procedure for the next Mark Point. Once you are satisfied you go to the FPM and call up all the Mark Point you want to use in you flight plan. Remember that IMHO this isn't stickly the idea behind Mark Point thus you can only make 25 Mark Points. Eventually you want to use the Mark Point for combat thus A better way is to make Waypoint and then enter the coordinates and elevation then enter this into a flight plan. You have only 25 Mark Point but 2500 Waypoint. If your lower left side of the HUD says STPT then steer point is set as SPI generator. If you want to make a Mark Point SPI you need to set the STEER knob on your Aux. Aviaonics Panel (AAP) into Mark Point. If I misunderstood I appologize. Hope this helped a little bit :-) Cheers Hans
  4. Looks like you are off to a very good start there RaXha. Keep the pictures flowing once you start start cutting Sir. Good luck on the project :-) Cheers Hans
  5. Welcome back Triise and thanks a lot for sharing your Arduino code. I am slowly getting to the point of starter my conversion into DCS-BIOS so that is highly appreciated. Likewise thanks Ian for the cuation panel code. I hope I can make heads and tails on it later :-) Cheers Hans
  6. China-Hat Aft Long slaved TGP (only TGP) to steerpoint. China-Hat Fwd Long slaves all sensors to SPI. So yes you can use China-Hat Fwd Long to slave the TGP to SPI because this will get slaved at the same time as all other sensors. You can see which is you current SPI designator by looking at lower left corner of the HUD. STPT (steerpoint) is default unless you designate something else. Cheers Hans
  7. Thanks so much Eddie and the rest of the 476th vFG for making this. Now I know what the next few weeks will be occupied with  Bloody hell. I can't rep any of you guys :-( 'mush spread some around' Cheers Hans
  8. Thanks for sharing. A quite brilliant setup Tacno and one of my absolute favorite pits  Rep inbound Cheers Hans
  9. Very nice work there saunder. Looks like a really neat wiring you have been doing. Excellent work. Cheers Hans
  10. The software Anton is referring to might be IRIS; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116811 There is some assistance to setting it up by Boltz. I haven't tried it but it may do the trick for you. Cheers Hans
  11. It may be because you press TMS AFT short. You can revert to AREA or POINT track mode by pressing TMS FWD short. If the TGP into INR-A or INR-P its because you were in AREA or POINT track mode but the TGP got masked i.e. cannot see the terrain any more. By going into INR-A/INR-P it will try to keep looking at the same terrain even though it cannot see it. Once TGP can see terrain again it should revert into AREA or POINT track mode depending of the mode it was previously in. Cheers Hans
  12. Grimes cockpit light IIRCC it's not identical to the one in the A-10, but if you are looking for a lookalike; http://www.ebay.com/itm/371586431873?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  13. Nice progress. Really looking forwad to seeing those backlit panels. Backups. Yeah I also learned the hard way to enable the recycle bin on my NAS :-s Keep 'em comming. Cheers Hans
  14. Looks like you are off to a very good start. Keep adding pictures of the progress. Cheers Hans
  15. Hi John, The podcast is definitly a good encouragment for people to start making a small panel. As you said in the podcast the level is entirely up to the individual builder. It doesn't have to be fancy as long as it works and it can be assistance while flying. I originally started out because I couldn't keep situational awareness when looking down into the 3D cockpit trying to get the mouse over a switch. Having just a panel or two can really make a difference IMHO. Could not agreee more. The forums is great and you can always find some advice from someone who has already done exactly what you are trying to achieve. You will most definitely also find one builder who is going for the same level of details as yourself no matter what you are aiming for. I really like that :-) I really look forward for a Warhog & Ian cockpit building podcast version 2 :-) Top work both of you. Cheers Hans
  16. 476th vFG Podcast episode 11 Hi Warhog Just listened to the 476th vFG Podcast episode 11 (http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2736846&postcount=193) with you and Ian. A truly inspirering episode if I may say so. I surely hope it will inspire a lot more people to try out making their own panels and setting it up with with Ian's DCS-BIOS. Looking much forward to seeing more awesome stuff from your side. Thank you very much for taking the time to participate in the podcast and give us a little insight. Cheers Hans
  17. Very nice Dojo. Thanks for getting these two distinguished gentlemen onboard for the podcast. Highly appreciated. Big thanks to Ian and Warhog for their participation. If one could only pick their brains cheers Hans
  18. Not by my gamer pc but of the top of my head I don't think you can use a potentiometer for the heading bug. Game takes increase and decrease digital inputs (A-10C). I think DCS-BIOS does too. but as said I am not by pc so I may not be recalling correctly. cheers Hans
  19. Mag switch Appears to be a mag switch although not listed with usual Honeywell part no; http://www.ebay.com/itm/172150817221?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  20. Very interesting. I have just ordered some more parts to get going as well based upon your schematics. With regard to the second OP amp for correcting the X-direction. Is that when you look directly at the slew sensor or when its mounted? I mean the x-direction may be correct when mounted facing forward. I'll get cracking on my breadboard as soon as parts arive  Happy Easter. Cheers Hans
  21. Looks like a very nice solution gentlemen  Cheers Hans
  22. Outstanding work Sir  I got to have a closer look at this. Thank you very much Gadroc 'must spread som rep around' :-( Cheers Hans
  23. That one awesome looking pit you got there. Keep up the good work  cheers Hans
  24. Very nice work there Sir. Looking forward to see the final working version Cheers Hans
  25. Check lower left corner on the HUD to see what is the current SPI generator. If it says TGP then your current SPI is where the TGP is looking right now and it is continously updated. This means that when you slew your TGP around then the SPI will update continiously thus you do not need to go TMS up long everytime you are on a new target. So lets say you have four tanks and 4xGBU12. You set TGP as SOI then TMS up long to set it as SPI generator. Then you slew TGp to the first tanks, tip in, pickle, laser, tank destroyed. Slew TGP to next tank, tip in pickle, laser, tank destroyed. Now if you set HUD as SOI and slew TDC onto third tank you are not going to hit because the TGP was still set as SPI generator. I always verify before tipping in what my current SPI generator is by looking in the lower left corner of the HUD. Cheers Hans
