Hi Duckling, I haven't incorporated into the pit yet as it won't fit in the side consoles I have but will fit in the news ones I am getting :-) Also I need to make a right hand throttle 'handle'. I have a mockup done in aluminum but I am still waiting for to see if we can find a good relatively cheap solution for the coolie hat and mic switch. The real ones from Otto Excellence are pretty expensive. I did take apart the throttle friction and loosened it just a little tad to get it smoother and may have to look into the wriggling between the throttle shaft and the bushing. I anticipate using a Leo Bodnar card for the signals. The hall effect potentiometer I found were 65º, if I recall correctly then the throw in current setup is about 50º. The construction is quite sturdy so I do not anticipate and problems with the linkage. The hall effect potentiometer almost feels friction less. It was a little bit of trial an error to align to get room for the cutoff micro switches. I deliberately avoid using the toothed rod as shown on the picture on KLaFaille throttle; http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1196549&postcount=118 as I felt it would complicated the construction significantly. Cheers Hans

Ha ha Ragtop. I guess my pit will be empty of panels very quickly if that is the agreement :-D

To avoid flying into your ricochets execute your Safe Escape Maneuver. In case your dive angle is less then ~25º then use TLT or TRN. At higher dive angles use CLM. Cheers Hans A-10 Safe Escape Maneuvers.pdf

Thanks DM :-) Gadroc many thanks for the link to Mikes Powell's board. Below is my original drawing notes from when I tried to map the original amplifier board I seem to recall that I found the numbers on the two components which are connected between the power supplies and that they were metal foil resistors. BUT that being said I may also very well be misrembering. Good find on the board working on 5VDC. I never tried as I wrongly assumed it would be something like 28VDC. I also found a never model of the operational amplifier on Ebay which I never got around to exchange. Too many loose ends and not enought time :-D Cheers Hans

Hi Gadroc, Thank you very much for the kind words. Yeap that sound like the exact same behavior I saw on the original board. To try and measure it I put a rubber around the 'pin' of the slew sensor and the made a piese of wood so that I could apply 'near' same force on the pin. When rotating 360º I only got readout on the same axis. I am afraid I din't get any further on the testing because then I continued on mapping an original AN/ARC-164. The Leo Bodnar cells kinda worked but it seemed like the calibration got lost over time. It may also have been the some of the component got loose on the breadboard. I was going to try and find an operational amplifier that ran on 5VDC so that I could go with the original layout but time went somewhere else. Sorry :-( I didn't know Mike Powell made amplifiers for this. Wuld have saved me some headache trying to map the original boards :-D Cheers Hans

IIRRC then no. Then only thing you may do is to order WM to hold at a certain area, then you fly back for re-arm and refuel. On the return order him to rejoin. I seem to recall that in mission with tanker you can ask WM to go to tanker, but there IMHO isn't a way to order WM to re-arm and return to AO. Cheers Hans

The CBU-87 are for infantry and sofskinned vehicles. As you have already found out the CBU-97 are more suited for armour. If you go to the public section of the 476th vFG you can find a ton of weapons information; http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=43 Cheers Hans

This may be what you are looking for; http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=249 It's in the public section. Cheers Hans

I got one of those. Fair enough it was $25 in shipping to DK with some other parts but for $30 I doubt I would be able to make a replica. I had a few dents in the pain but nothing that can't be fixed. Cheers Hans

You can enter those via the Mission Editor as IP. For a beginning try and see this from Furia; http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/38356/ He has been adding nav point into mission. You can add a lot more. I believe the max numbers is around 2000 points. In our squadron we have around 500 nav point. Some are Furia's and some a killboxes, training ranges, preplanned IP. Cheers Hans

Lynx Cockpit Utility Brick "Button box"
Hansolo replied to LynxDK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Very nice idea LynxDK to offer switch box with most basic switches for user who doesn't want a whole pit  I like the idea. I toyed a little with the idea myself for some of my flying mates. We constantly change frequencies for different controllers, and adjust altimeter settings which can be a hazzle while keeping the formation. Never got around to it though. Cheers Hans -
I have a Problem setting up toggle switches using the Bodnar BB1-32
Hansolo replied to Dudester22's topic in Home Cockpits
Hi bouncerj21, What are you trying to achieve? I got my setup working kinda similar to this although without the iCommand. It is somewhat described here; http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2017801&postcount=52 If you want I can just post my modded joystick lua file. Cheers Hans -
Excellent Duckling. Good to have you back again and good news you got the pit working again  Cheers Hans
-
Sound awesome. Very interested when you start production. Nice work Sir:thumbup: Cheers Hans

Oh this is excellent new Grimes. We had this running in our old tranining mission and yes we 'lost' a pilot during this because the ground force commander was firing missiles at and A-10C. Would be awesome if you got it working Sir  Cheers Hans

*Edit* 1. Your map is set for degree, minutes and seconds. The CDU takes it in decimal format. Try and set your map for 'Lat Long decimal' in the options menu under coordinate control. 2. Ok looks like you are trying to edit the current waypoint from this menu. IRRCC you cant. What you should do instead is stay where you are. Type NAV1 then press ?*5 . This way you create a new WP called NAV1. Then enter the coordinates from your map set as Lat Long Decimal. 3. It may just be me but it looks like ýou typing in both set of coordinates in the same line? Northings should be on the line below elevation and Eastings should be below Northings Cheers Hans

I never use letters. Just 4206106 (for N46º 06.106) and 04452181 (for E 044º 52.181) Cheers Hans

That is a really nice pit you have got going there romeokilo  Very nice indeed. For the small 3-position rotary I have used these; http://www.mouser.dk/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=SRBV131803virtualkey68800000virtualkey688-SRBV131803 Small observation which may just be my eyes cheating me. The toggle switch on your NMSP looks like the one installed is a 3 position. Unless I am mistaken it only a 2-position. Looking forward for more pictures on your build  Cheers Hans

Thanks for the info LynxDk. Much appreciated  Cheers Hans
-
LynxDk just give a noob like me an idea how long does it take to do the part of your MIP which holds the HSI and NMSP? Cheers Hans

That PCB looks really nice  Looking froward for more stuff Sir. Cheers Hans

Dart, I am getting a strange DCS crash when I have Server installed when entering a multiplayer server. Our dedicated server does load, I do get to the map bu just before I get to the aircraft selection page DCS stops working. If I only have client installed then no problem. The DCS crash log says ACESS_VIOLATION. Do you have any idea what that is? I have checked with a few of our controllers and the have no problem but they also do not hav the server installed. cheers Hans

Hansolo replied to Ranger79's topic in A-10C Operation Piercing Fury Campaign
Congratulations Ranger79. Well deserved indeed. I remember the first time I fell 'Welcome to Suse' and was blown away. cheers Hans -
I am fairly convinced this is udes during boresighting of the Mavericks. Please take a look at this post #13; http://www.476vfightergroup.com/showthread.php?3204-Maverick-Employment/page2 Cheers Hans
