  1. FOV makes a lot of difference in sense of speed. The larger the FOV, the stronger sense of speed. This is because: 1) More details are seen at once. 2) You are able to see more to your sides. Speed is felt stronger when something is "moving" in sight and not just growing or shrinking. It is easy to test this. Edit your view scripts and set max FOV to 180. Try flying near buildings with such FOV and it will look like speed increased a few times.
  2. Mine was honored. Now, fingers crossed it won't be used or with drained red goo inside. :D
  3. Mine is also waiting for shipping. I will either receive a junk or 1/3 of its price will be covered by someone else. :D
  4. Amazon at Germany and US still sells WT at high price. I am just wondering if there is a catch with WTs from UK site. :)
  5. If you don't use axis for brakes, you have to tap the brake button or else you will be applying full brakes. If you use axis for brakes, you can and need to apply brakes by small amount. Most runways have more than enough length, so there is no reason for aggressive braking.
  6. First, in what axis it is "off". If in yaw, then probably your HUD is fine and you experience wind or asymmetric drag. If it is angled in bank (horizon lines do not align with real horizon), your NAV system is working incorrectly (i.e. alignment has not been completed). In anyway, post a track.
  7. I don't like current A10 context based radio menu. If it wasn't based on context and every command had distinctive "key press path", then everything would work well with VAC. However, currently same "key press path" has to be used for multiple commands according to context and that requires user to pay lots of attention. For example, ATC list is not permanent and contains only neutral and friendly ATCs ordered by range. Obviously this list can vary from mission to mission and even plane position, so it is not possible to create something like "Mozdok Inbound" in VAC, because you can't know which keys will be needed in advance. Same for other communicators (like JTATC). Fortunately, radio menu is written in lua, so user still has ability to "fix" it by himself.
  8. Basically you just have to understand 3 things: 1) SPI is just a point in the world. 2) SPI can be created by one of sensors (i.e. the point, at which particular sensor looks, becomes the SPI) 3) sensors can be slaved to SPI (i.e. sensor can be automatically pointed to SPI). In addition, aiming is done by using SPI too. If you use CCRP, fire computer will think that current SPI is target.

  10. No you don't. I don't run TrackIR or any game with admin rights, and they work fine.
  11. Yes, you already can control friendly ground units (RTS style) and switch to FAC view (3rd person camera) or designator view (scope) to fire smoke or use laser rangefinder. That works. However, I did not have opportunity to test if I can lase the target for attack run, so I don't know if that is currently possible.
  12. winter, spring, summer, autumn. It has navigation instruments for flying in bad visibility conditions, however it has no radar and finding ground targets could be difficult if weather does not allow acquiring targets by using eyes or targeting pod. Well, you can always just bomb a target, which location is entered into navigation system, but this won't help if target is moving. No.
  13. So, how much beer you can buy?
  14. And some random guy from oil rich country can say: Petrol can be expensive? You must be kidding. :smilewink: People, saying that A10 is expensive, say that not because they are Scrooge McDucks, but because the price is high, if compared to their salary and amount of money they spend for essential needs. Before asking "how it can be expensive?", everyone needs to remember that price is one (so far), but not all of us are living in the same country, so perceived value of 60$ can be very different. Native English tribesmen like to say something about apples and oranges in such case. In anyway, SC2 has strong MP, in which everything needs to be very balanced or people will simply loose interest in it. This alone makes it hard to develop and requires army of testers.
  15. Normal hats are easy, just use pinky as modifier and assign two virtual hats to single physical one.
  16. Here I can buy 30 pints in pub and about 50 pints in store for a price of Warthog. :D
  17. No one cares when info like cockpit buttons and their use is declassified. However, info about implementation of their function might be classified. For example, if targeting pod was modeled very accurately (i.e. image was really processed, not just shown to us), then such model would not be released to public, because it could be used in "research" how to defeat that sensor in real life.
  18. Just noticed. And no, we are not relatives. P.S.: moral of the story: if you use general word for nick name, it is prone to be chosen by someone else too. :smartass:
  19. Triple buffer setting in nvidia control panel affects only OpenGL.
  20. Although I will be on holidays next week and new sim is very tempting, however my common sense says to wait for Russian version too. Unfortunately, we will probably have to wait till February or March.
  21. Nice one  :D
  22. It has been discussed many times in kinda long threads already. Please, use forum search function.

  24. It depends on which X-mas you are talking about. :smilewink:
