Wolfman, can you tell more about centering issue? Is it like this: stick is centered in the beginning, but eventually (while playing) the neutral position shifts?
-
Tell us more. Especially the bad things (try to find as many as you can). Also, I have some specific questions. Is it really made from metal? How much metal? Can you describe it as elegant or heavy duty one (will it, except electronic parts, survive if used as hammer?) ? I ask this because lots of advertised "metal" nowadays is softer and weaker than my plastic toys when I was a kid. How is the cabling? Does throttle and stick connect to PC separately or are they interconnected? If they are, what type of cable? Are the sockets loose? Is there a strong feedback? I mean, is there a strong feeling that you have pushed a button? Something like you have when using keyboard from 198x? :)

Guns don't kill people, people kill people :P

In IL2 you don't have fire computer which helps to determine where you should aim (excluding primitive gyro sight of P51). In F4 you have aiming help, however you almost don't have a rudder at little bit higher speeds and that thing forces you to work for good position before shooting. In contrast, planes in LockOn and IL2 have "useful" rudders and allows for way easier correction of aim point. I always had a feeling that rudders for SFM planes are too good in LockOn. Also, in F4 fire computer lags and lies more. In LockOn it is deadly precise.

So, how is this project evolving? When we should expect the release? -
Vanilla FC problems with Su25A guided missiles.

How much FPS do you get? Rough sight movement is usually related to low FPS. -
FC2 will PWN your SWAP file...and memory usage.
ZaltysZ replied to Pilotasso's topic in Bugs and Problems
Depends on system and software. If you have enough RAM you can happily disable pagefile. How much RAM you need? Depends on what you run. Ordinary 32bit application can use up to 2GB. large address aware 32bit application - up to 4GB. It is unlikely that you will run multiple memory hungry applications at the same time, so 2GB + max usable memory by hungriest application is good reference. DCS and FC2 can and will use up to 4GB of memory on 64bit system, so don't try to disable pagefile if you have only 4GB of RAM and x64 OS. Out of memory errors is very likely. :smilewink: -

DCS (FC2 too) is large address aware and can use up to 4GB of RAM (on x64 Windows). I have 6GB of RAM and swap is disabled. No need for it, because I don't run anything, what can consume those 6GB. Windows has nasty habit to swap memory even if there is no need, so disabling swap gets rid of that blinking HDD light and irritating slow downs. -
Mk.20 should disintegrate in mid-air. It is cluster bomb after all.

FC 2.0 - F-15 HUD - different ladders
ZaltysZ replied to VTJS17_Fire's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
HUD modes are different in pictures. :) -
There is no crash in windowed mode, so it implies that there is connection with video subsystem (i.e. it is not just weapon switch bug). So TVM display can be good candidate for reason of crash.
-
I don't fly A10 at all, but if I remember correctly, Maveric display switches on, when you choose Maveric. I suspect that you are getting crashes when you cycle to Maverics. Can you confirm this? You can create custom mission with custom loadout (only maverics) and see if it crashes at the moment you switch to ground mode.

You need to hold fire button for 1s or so for launch/drop.
-
No, if I play BS and FC2. It is tiring to constantly change profiles.
-
The fact, that FC2 is recognized as Black Shark by TrackIR, isn't very good. All my profiles for air combat are always more sensitive than for ground attack (or for clickable cockpits), but now I either have to use the same profile for helicopter and fighter jets, or either manually switch profile before launching the game. It is not very comfortable situation. So far, I use one simple workaround. I play with my insensitive Black Shark profile, but with altered TrackIR axis inside FC2. It is possible to go to plane controls screen, choose Axis, scroll right until TrackIR column is shown and alter corresponding axis. I simply put an outer deadzone and TrackIR becomes more sensitive for chosen plane.
-
Locale thing then. Try changing it.
-
Can you translate text of errors into English? EDIT: I am almost sure, you get problems because of Russian characters in mission file names. Try switching system locale (Code page for non Unicode Apps) into Russian. Then install and switch back to your old locale.

Steam also sells games with 3rd party DRMs only. I think, Silent Hunter 5 is sold on steam, but is protected only by DRM from UBI. I didn't need it. Probably Russian version isn't considered as addon. :D

Можно ли будет купить загружаемаю версию из 1С интернет-магазина?

You need a wingman or stupid Eagle. :smilewink:

Is it a killer bunny? :D

I think, it is pretty simple. ED is Russian company, so it is easier for them to model Russian planes, especially if they have contacts in TsAGI.

I think, FAC is planned in DCS: A10. It is supposed that we get it in BS too, so additional radio modes will be useful then too.
