  1. You're looking at IAS. Just because you're at 500kph does not mean you GS and or mach speed isn't higher. 500kph is ~269 knots per hour and in the Eagle at 45,000ft at that speed I think should be around 1.2-1.4m Once I get above 28,000ft I fly by Mach and not by IAS.
  2. Well yes it is about converting forward momentum to upward momentum. How ever the plane is capable of pulling the nose though its CAOA before the wings have the ability to transfer stored inertia from one plane of travel to the next. As Exorcet says you need to pull around 4-5Gs and smoothly not abruptly. By the way service ceiling is not a product of limitation of zoom climb. It's generally a rating of sustained climb performance degrades[best rate of climb] or when some other factor limits the plane from safely being able to climb further. The plane can still climb and when it can no longer climb that is the absolute ceiling these do not include zoom climbing as essentialy they result in departure of controlled flight.
  3. 26,000ft at 495kts 60* climb and you stall at 33,000ft so 7,000ft climb? am I reading this correctly? If I am.. Then the only thing I can come up with is you exceeded AOA in your climb essentially making your self a giant sail instead of transferring your inertia upwards. the only thing at that moment pushing you up would be your engine thrust and none of the stored kinetic energy you had before. SO what I'm trying to say in a more laymen terms you pulled too hard too fast on the stick causing the jet to go nose high and essentially stalling the wings [ sortof like the cobra maneuver]. With that your forward momentum continues forward and the only vertical climb you're getting is from the engines and none of it from the inertia you had before which is still transferring forwards down its orriginal horizontal plane but with the wings and fuselage acting as a huge sail slowing you down in the horizontal plane
  4. Well, I have had the same issue. I was trying to locate a friendly 2.5nm in front of me co altitude no matter what mode on radar I switched to.. MED/Hi/INTL tws, Bore, guns, VS would not locate him. It took close to 5 mins before he showed. I was on a free flight server with map view so I knew where he was. Also Had an issue where I was orbiting doing a 360* scan for 3 mins and never picked up an enemy. He closed the gap and fired and I never saw him Killing both my self and my wingman who was rejoining me. I only knew of his presence because my wing man asked me to pull into his 6o-clock position to look at a spike on his RWR that I did not have. I had scanned that area no more then 2 seconds before and when I pulled in still nothing then BAM he showed on RWR then a missile immediately after.
  5. Kindof busy at work and not able to fully soak in what you're asking.. But I think you're seing the rudder interlink. When moving the stick you should have rudder movement. It is meant to counter adverse yaw when inputting roll commands to the ailerons. Well... Umm just read fully what you said.. Yeah umm thats not right.. :P
  6. you need a cough drop m8? LOL:pilotfly:
  7. Awesome read Teknetinium.. There is a video on the web floating around about an f15 pilot saying he watched an aim9 ignore a full ABing mig29 to eat a flare if I recall correctly. Would have been DS1
  8. Sinus can you post a track of that so I can verify we are having the exact same issue.. I havent had the issue repete it self as of late and I didn't get a chance to try what you said. Will try tonight when I get on but would like your track if at all possible to compare.
  9. I tried replicating the issue tonight but was unsuccessful [atleast not to the severity it was before it was only a few *of pitch today]and the tracks I had before would not replay.. Once issue pops up again I will post tracks. How ever I did download the hotpatch before I tried today. Last night it was happening quite often.
  10. This is not true.. How ever it is unlikely. A game if programmed maliciously or just happens to have unbeknownst "backdoor" that is affectingly overrides the driver to allow overheating can kill a card.
  11. I just learned there is another light addon for the f15. might I ask COF if that is what turns on the two lights in the wingroots which used to be turned on when activating the gear light? If not then this would be another bug. To add to this pitch issue. The Autopilot alt hold when turned off also seems to agitate the issue. Now that I think of it. It might actually be only when I have autopilot on when this happens. Either ATT or ATT&ALT hold. Might it be when I move the stick slightly it disengages the AP and a rapid reset of the control surfaces to last trim position is causing this?
  12. In the Upper flight levels the f15 has some uncommanded pitch movement. It seems that when I am above 40,000ft that the nose at times will be twitchy. A slight movement in the stick and nose will move 5-10* rapidly. It's not a fluid movement. It is a jerk. the nose will move faster then what I could physicaly deflect the stick if I was to try to replicate it myself I will get some tracks of this later since I am at work.
  13. One thing I have noticed is bunting over to pick up speed in the flight levels takes more time. and return climb back up also takes a bit more time. In the FL's it also seems the control surfaces have some weird reactions. but it could just be my controls at a moment. I've seen some wild uncommanded jerks of a few degrees. How ever with that they did not affect the flight.
  14. Umm I meant to say "in game not real world."
  15. On a side note. I hardly ever use flood mode.. But it is a satisfying kill when you do get one with it..
  16. Forgot to mention when and which to use and why.. Flood mode is for the most part an emergancy use mode. But it can come in handy when you need or want to do some black magic voodoo on people.. I.e. you have snuck up on multiple bandits and they don't know you are there.. you can use flood mode to get a lock fire watch that person burn in flames and then manuver to the next person. Vs boresight that locks and you have to unlock to switch to the next target. With flood once that target is out of the FOV of the flood the next target is availble to be launched on.. You can also use flood mode to force someone in defensive as they think they have been launched on.
  17. as far as bugging a target Im not sure which key on the keyboard it is. I have mine bound to my throttleset.. As far as Boresight vs flood mode. Boresight is an Auto acquisition mode that anything in the inner circle of the hud will be locked and an STT track will be made and from there as long as the target stays with in the gimble limits of the radar will remain locked. This will then output on the hud and vsd a target box and compute direction altitude speed and aspect angle along with a target ident of a known target profile. When a target is locked in this mode it will get a Lock que on its rwr but not a missile launch untill you actualy fire the aim7. Flood mode is a much larger volume in terms of the hud compared to boresight. but it is not an auto acquisition mode. Therefor you do not get an STT lock with relative information in regards to your target in either the vsd or on the hud [i.e. no square around the target in the hud] and you must also keep your target inside that circle on the hud. When in flood mode any target that is painted will receive a missile launch warning on their rwr even if you did not launch. You will also receive the launch lights on the canopy brow. Again during the entire lock[not realy locked just anything inside of the flood mode] to launch to missile hit you must maintain your target inside of that circle [20* cone] otherwise the missile will not track. In this mode it is imperative you have visual of your target or at least know 100% he is in the flood cone and can keep him in that cone.
  18. So I'm not the only one who wanted to beat that guy down with a bat! The final secound with him grabbing the LGH made me want to reach through my screen and strangle him..
  19. First off, the bloody map isn't big enough for that bird. But the yf-12a would be more suited in this game even though the map is too small for it also.
  20. Currently rudder authority is wrong in the f15[in game not the real world f15c]. As far as your forward slip that's how its done. but it doesn't matter which way you slip it. Just be aware if you slip away from the wind you will have a steeper decent but you will get blown off course.
  21. 19151514 looks like it will be minutes.
  22. Umm, Ok let me just make sure you under stand something here.. Flame out means exactly what it says. No flame in the hot section of the engine. This can be the result of fuel starvation, a compressor stall, FOD damage, oxygen deficiency, and a few other reasons. Regardless of the fact the engine is producing NO THRUST and spooling down to a speed where only impact/ram air through the inlet duct is keeping it spinning. So yes they are flamed out.. In your account where you flip back over the engines start up again is a result of a few things. A. the engine has enough residual heat still in the hot section and the compressor is still turning fast enough that when fuel is re-introduced it will self ignite. or B. the engine has enough speed still and with a combinition of fuel and the igniters the engine can be restarted. Other wise to restart the apu bleed air or a steep dive to windmill is needed to spin the compressor then fuel + ignigters are needed for a restart.
  23. Yes this would be a great option. I've gotten my self in a few predicaments because I neglected to pay attention to fuel.
  24. Soo they say soon.. If we take soon and convert it into a numerical statement we get 19151514.. Now will that be seconds if so then we have 221 days or 7months till release.. Or will it be minutes which is 36.4 years... Ohh maybe milliseconds or .22days? Ill take the nanosecond release or in .019 seconds!
  25. So, if im flying a cessan 172 and the prop tips are supersonic I must be super cruising?
