Agree 100%. The future of SR is unsure at the moment, all this tub thumping is if anything a bit premature. I've seen communication tools bring servers to a stand still when the player count using it goes up, let's help Ciribob with the testing and hope everything turns out for the best.

I guess you missed the bit where Greg, a Buddy Spike admin said enforcing it would be bad. With that in mind do you also find those demanding for it to be enforced insulting or are you just using strong words to silence those that disagree with your opinion? :)

I think one of the biggest things to come out of Blue flag is the community getting closer together and friendships being formed instead of names on the chat screen. This is because of the need to be on TS working together, something only ever done on public servers in patches before. Now people learn stuff directly and improve, become more proficient etc. That for me is what Blue flag has done so well, the matter of getting a hardcore only option with comms is not something for a public open to anyone server, it is more suited to a closed organised event between squadrons or groups. Bringing the community closer and getting new guys to open up and join in rather than be scared away by ghost town ts channels. I'm sure BS have plans for closed events that can follow strict procedures etc. it has been done plenty times before so I don't see why not so lets not tie down open server play rather leave such stuff optional.

Put me in a 21 please.

Probably because unlike the F-15 FM the Flanker FM is in Beta. The notion that the Flanker could pull 40G in a typical merge and that making huge G turns was common practice is wrong, the choice to switch ASC to achieve these undesirables is not standard practice. This was more a showcase or high speed missile evasion nonsense, basically not the actions of a normal virtual pilot. If the ASC was used with a heavy payload it could put you in an uncontrollable spin. Basically ASC equalled death for many, getting to grips with the trouble of neg G and ending on your back were more at the fore front of peoples concerns. When in a typical merge the ASC would allow you to pull 14G without issue and even more at the initial high speed turn, to say this switching ASC at the initial turn was a standard Flanker pilots procedure is a bit of a stretch, it might have become so if let to live but typically amongst many was deemed unrealistic and not something to bother with. As it is now to be able to pull 12+G you need to be very light or face destruction.

If you understood how teamwork is really effective you'd realise that it takes a lot less teamwork with ARH missiles and is a lot harder to achieve well against ARH missiles. The fun aspect is really how you perceive it. If fun for me was spamming TWS 120s all day that's what i'd be doing. Fact is, been there, worn the t-shirt and it is boring as hell. Fun for me is getting to the merge and making the kills on my nose or 3/9 not when i'm rtb at 30000ft. This scenario brings so many modules into one big merge party, just enjoy the change and then we'll pick up the big sticks next time.
-
How about we just enjoy what BS serve up knowing full well that a full blown scenario is waiting around the corner. Making suggestions is what i'm sure BS want to hear, complaining and arguing over what should be is probably a big not.
-
Have you ever flown the 21, this aint a random pub server where kills are easy, there is so much more co-ordination and organisation going on. You say you need better teamwork with the 21, you can rest assured AMRAAMs will be just as well co-ordinated. Why not think outside the box yourself and enjoy the varied scenarios BS create. :)

I don't get it Winchester, everyone knows the 21 and Mirage can bomb and stuff but to be used as effective fighters they need their own dedicated scenarios. The 80s round of Blue flag goes someway to making that. I'm sure I am just repeating what someone else already said. I'll just add it is not about who or what is the best of the best, it is about having fun with all the modules in a community gathering event.
-
It's not about Mirages etc. needing escort, it is about having Mirages and 21s used as effective fighters. This makes the role of fighter for all on a more even keel.

Kh-58 is not in for good reason, blue sams just wouldn't exist. They can be overidden at 4 times range.
-
No, it is because i'm a Liverpool fan and hate Everton plus blue is a bit of a gheycolour. Red says i'm confident in my sexuality and dangerous, the ladies know this, no safety limits, full power, Red or dead. Not like safety inspector blues and their safety checks and boring procedures... yawn. This is why i'm Red. :smoke: Now lets get this fight on.

Without SEAD and TGP it won't. :D

Transport choppers could be the trigger to have them stored, i'm not saying a Huey could transport 10 amraam but it could trigger a cargo plane delivery giving some control to a commander on when these weapons become available.

Don't try and make bones about it, Winchester is a good bloke no problems with the thread whatsoever, but stats are a reflection of how well you've done, to compare is to compare how well others have faired. Like it or not, as innocent as it is, it is about the kills. The problem arises when people get the hump because in their opinion they're not the best and being the best some how matters to them, cue intial posts. All of this I don't think applies to Winchesters idea of what is supposed to be a friendly comparison. By the way nice stats Winchester. :)

No, it can only be found out with tank like Mirages that can take missiles and still fly. :D Fact is the best FM in DCS is represented in an FC3 aircraft whilst other so called superior modules have unnatural limits. Making a pit clickable doesn't make it any more realistic through the air. I don't know what difficulties the pilots you know have with Mirages and MIG-21s compared to FC3 aircraft but I know that when i'm in combat in a full fidelity model I scan using elevation and azimuth controls, switch prfs, lock bandits up, select weapon and shoot, just the same as if I were in an FC3 aircraft, obviously much less of that is available to me in a 21Bis. On the other hand in a Mirage I also have advantages which should be available on FC3 a/c such as bar selection (FC3 are stuck at 4), super search , more azimuth control etc. With more fidelity comes more advantages in combat, not less. The only reasons someone in an FC aircraft shoots down someone in a Mirage is a) the superior technology, b) the lack of exp compared to opponent, c) he just a better pilot d) EDs RNG. ;)

You talk tactics but don't take into account enemy has tactics too. Have you considered an enemy flanking your flight from low able to see you on radar but your flight doesn't even know they are their because of drowned out SPO-15 and no DL contact. You can't start defensive maneuvers against something you're unaware of. You want to take out a Patriot site etc. this needs an escort package and those escorts are going to be the ones having these problems. A Mirage SERVAL or F-15 TEWS gives far superior SA period.
-
F-15 can't dogfight with tanks, it is impossible to pull the stick nevermind the nonsense claimed 14g. Su27 should have no fuel so as the F15 can be the only payload and start up scramble fighter to intercept incoming strikers. Mirage doesn't function at all without first aligning, please nerf MiG-21 which is already far and away the more superior FOB fighter out of the two. Beware of large sections of sarcasm in my post.
-
Not so clever when you have enemy contacts using TWS within 40km while you're locked by a Patriot system or fighter from 100km away flooding your SPO. :smilewink:

Yes but they also don't jam everything at the same time they are limited by power. It can't just jam many frequencies or multiple emitters.

80s is just a term used for A2A scenarios which follow the same vibe as the original 'MiG29A only' battles run on the 504 server. This was back in the LOMAC days when the biggest stick the 29A could carry was the R-27R, this mission created something different to the norm with some truly enjoyable merges.

MiG 29S HUD & HDD display the same thing
Frostie replied to BattleAxes Skinner's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Probably several reasons, the MiG as well as being smaller is also more versatile and better suited in multirole plus the KUB adds more into the op. They may even keep the 33's to complement or alternate. -
Of course they have working Nav systems. Please stop with the 'FC aircraft don't fit because you can't flick every switch' pot stir.

+1 The F10 icon has become all too common in servers, it never existed previously and things worked out just fine. F10 icon not only makes navigation and A2G easier it also makes SA readouts to buddies easier, lets have less of this click ruler tactics on the fly and more reliance on perception. There is always the kneeboard which is another hand holder in case of tumbleweedness.

MiG 29S HUD & HDD display the same thing
Frostie replied to BattleAxes Skinner's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
If it wasn't a small difference it would be relevant, fact is in DCS it is a very small difference. Sorry I don't see the relevance in your replies. We only have access to earlier versions in DCS and these MiG-29s are not classed as air superiority aircraft.
