  1. Over the last 20 years considering the opposition has been extremely inferior there has been quite a few radar guided hits on NATO aircraft.
  2. Just flying MIG-21 should tell you this isn't the case. One button to lock, one to launch. More modern aircraft have the advantages of one switch close combat modes with auto acquisition and HOTAS designed purely for all combat to be performed with a simple press of a button or two without letting go of the controls. To say that combat in modern aircraft requires complex switchology is from someone who doesn't understand modern combat.
  3. I'd hoped that this AoA radar issue would have been fixed in the latest update but it is still the same. Any news when this will be fixed?
  4. Banned I guess, I saw a lot of banning and unbanning happen over the weekend. Maybe slmod going nuts.
  5. Nubs in FC3 aircraft with simplified reaction times, let me have it real so I can press fifteen buttons to lock a guy up and seven to fire the missile and then they have to solve a sudoku every time they want to deploy chaff and flares, surely this is how they design real fighters. :bounce:
  6. Something wrong with the radar for me since 1.5.3, it's scanning approx. +5º to +24º.
  7. Yes but this is with the F-15 only. Other aircraft handle PRF differently.
  8. There are servers without fighter harassment but without the numbers, I don't know what is expected here. You enter a busy server in which the mission is clearly pvp and has fighters then expect to be shot down. You either relish the challenge or join a more sedate server and do the taskings set out without harrasment from fighters. I don't understand the desire to join a busy pvp server based on all aircraft by those that just want to rack up ground kills without facing competition the two don't marry up so why expect something else.
  9. As far as limiting to just a HOTAS without rudder pedals then I guess the real choice is between the Saitek X-55 or X-52 pro, both have twist stick rudders and both do the job admirably and can be considered bang for buck. I've owned both and while I preferred the X-52 with yourself not owning one previously getting the newer X-55 won't disappoint you. The X-55 looks and feels better than the X-52 imo but lacks some of the X-52s functionality such as a dedicated software shift pinky, superior mouse stick and better placed HAT switches. But like I said not owning an X-52 will not make this such a realisation.
  10. Yes it does work even though this is unrealistic and unnecessary modelling, switching PRFs during a lock can keep an aspect changing target locked up/tracked that would otherwise be lost in High PRF.
  11. The NCTR on an F-15s radar can determine the fighter type, eg. F-16, F-18 etc. by the blades in the engine, this should give you a good indication of how loud spinning blades can be in the radar world.
  12. But a lot of those divers on mp servers have a hair-trigger whilst holding the spear gun at the wrong end.
  13. I used to run a core2duo with 6gb ram, whilst 1.2 was manageable when I switched to 1.5 it was virtually unplayable, constantantly freezing every minute. Took some hardcore tweaking to make it work. Upgrade is the only way my friend.
  14. It's actually 10.8nm but this is nit picking when converting for the sake of understanding engagement ranges in nm when you're used to kms. The idea is that someone who is used to 20km being the danger zone can easily convert this to 10nm being the danger zone. :)
  15. I don't understand what you're trying to say with this picture, your PRF is set at MED you won't see much anything past 30km in that PRF. Also looking at your first pictures by any chance are all the contacts cold?
  16. I said it's easy mode compared to how it could be. I don't have anywhere near the hours you have in the 21 so I don't consider myself an expert but my k/d in the 104th is a satisfactory 1.0, not really a testimony to my ability but the behaviour of the opposition. IMO it should be harder to fly against these fc3 fighters but quite a lot fly low and stupid.
  17. I guess you've never been chased by a high F-15.
  18. Jester seems to be named as <51>Soviet, Soviet himself is missing as are you and some blue.
  19. The reason a lot fly low is because the missiles don't work too well from high, if this gets fixed then the MiG-21 will get even tougher, right now it's not too hard to engage modern fighters because they're easy to draw into your environment, because most are low they're not spotting you from 50nmi away, engaging you before you see them and chasing you down diving towards your six at Mach 2. So as it stands the MiG-21 is currently the one in easy mode.
  20. The quick way to convert km to nmi is just half it, eg. 20km = 10nmi.
  21. To be fair the basic SAM network is pretty crap, turning them off just made it harder for Red to destroy them especially considering the amount of SEAD we had in the area. I really don't know what this guy thought he was achieving.
  22. Unfortunately for some winning is all that matters, I think most Red were still having fun when it looked like Blue were going to cake walk it.
