  1. I think you've got the wrong end of the stick, the point was not comparing what modules can and can't do and nothing to do with the 'I want to keep 6 mavs' party. The point was on the polar opposite of peoples requests, one wanting more added, change for their own benefit where others wanted more taken away, change to represent realism.
  2. Judging by Wags post, performance = 42
  3. I think the point was, while guys ask for less weapons to promote realism, here we have asking for more weapons with realism taking an afterthought.
  4. If you want to defect to Red send one ping only.
  5. Why did you stop your right turn in the end there, you presented yourself nicely by flying straight, basically giving up. Even if you lost visual you should always continue the turn, this gives you the best chance of acquiring him again while also defending.
  6. I'm not going to debate it here, there are obviously pros and cons for both and I don't believe there is a right choice.
  7. Just check post #149 where you reponded with a hard ass reponse to my big green smiley face making light of the player balance, then you might inderstand how you come across. Lighten up a bit is all.
  8. Just stop being so serious brother, its just a game, just get into the spirit of friendly rivalry and stop any sticks that may approach your butt, then all will be much more enjoyable. ;)
  9. Don't disagree with the idea behind imposters but I do disagree with what you say here and how ED have implemented it. Equating difficulty with realism is not the case, its pretty obvious that seeing something from 40km away and homing in on it to silently attack it is pretty much well beyond realism, saying it isn't perfect is a huge understatement as it takes away the point of using radar or GCI to gain situational awareness which for air to air combat is the key factor for success as well as removing any defensive and co-ordination aspect such as notching and tactics.
  10. ROFLCOPTER should be able to collect Intel pls.
  11. That has been going on for years, the difference is you've only just noticed. ;)
  12. Only 2 to 1 in favour of Blue, these are normal odds which Red deal with, cos Red stronk with Varaeg/Bart. If only Blue could get some more pilots they might not have to rely solely on the 20 vs AI in the Euro nightshift hours to make some ground. :D
  13. Big thanks to Ramsey and Flankerator for organising this fun event and all participants for making it so fun. I know that the 51st guys we were very rusty in the old bird and hadn't practiced the 21 before the event, myself haven't flown it for several months and did struggle remembering the start up (had the nosecone, trimmer, hydraulic switches the wrong way for the first flight :D). Rage this was his first combat flight and Tek and Chima both a bit rusty. We'd also just finished a 2 hour squad match and were pretty burnt out, so the great organisation and fun environment created by Ramsey was most welcome. I don't think the tactics used by Fishbed were particular special but rather effective. Main group as bait for the 2 ship of Scoops and Tony to flank in from the mountains. Co-operation was key and good support, thankfully Tony and Scoops and my buddies were great in this regard all on the same page and very effective at taking advantage of this. In the end I saw a lot of missiles miss their mark and i'm sure I survived a lot of shots on me I never saw, if the P5 gets improved things might turn out better for the F5. Also with the imposters on, MiGs were able to set up their attacks easier out of the range of what our sensors could track, this negated any tactical advantage the F5 could get from its superior radar. I know its a split decision, on or off, but just food for thought on what an unrealistic benefit the imposter gives. Thanks guys for making a great hour of fun, hopefully I can do this again.
  14. Sounds like a long night :D
  15. Andrew I understand your problem and as you say ED haven't done MiG pilots a good turn by removing the HDD nav tool and not replacing it with a waypoint number indicator of some sort. But take it easy, the Su25 suffered the same problem and has been seen when ED upgrade FC3 aircraft into single products stuff like this get addressed over time before its release, such as the nav panel on the Su25 with moving switches, the new cockpit on the A-10A, the F-15 received added cockpit features such as moving switches the Su27 also, plus changes to features in the cockpit. I'm sure the MiG will get the same.
  16. What you have to realise is that the aircraft in FC3 have been there since LOMAC (2003) and some including the MiG are also from the Flanker series before that. The MiG-29 is inline to get some love soon but don't expect variants to change.
  17. I hear you and it's great that the majority are getting onboard, just proves that mandatory is unneccesary, of course you will still get the odd guys that won't or will take time to make the change but that shouldn't be seen as a bad thing. I've been a part of this community for over 12 years and also been part of running one of the most popular servers in that time, i've also had a hand in closed events, I know the grind of having one group demanding one thing and another demanding the opposite and trying to tailor to everyones requests. The adage 'you can't please all of the people all of the time' is true but I like to believe you can make something for everyone especially with such a small player base. And this is key to helping the community grow. Having something like Blue Flag is for me the standard bearer in public multiplayer experience, something anyone who approaches mp has got to try. There are so many different types of players; hardcores, pros, newbies, gamers, casuals, teamplayers, solos, to appeal to all these you can't start forcing playing style. A lot of players, new players or old players returning probably don't even read this forum, some struggle to even get on TS, others may join TS but just listen in, there are so many players that are simply too timid early on to get into full on team co-op, vocally, it takes time for them to get in a comfort zone and acclimatise with what we are used to. Experiencing Blue Flag for the first time it soon becomes apparent that it is team based. Guys that are new to this take time, they can be too scared to tread on peoples toes, say the wrong thing or just feel awkward with so many strangers. Team based co-operation is the way BF has to be played for success but primarily it has got to be about fun, too many are taking it way too serious in winning and losing and that is when the back biting and bitterness comes out. So in reflection I see it as a duty to us all to build this small community as much as we can, the more guys that come in and catch the bug seeing the wonderment that is BlueFlag the more chance of 1 or 2 like minded individuals saying 'you know what I can make a BF for the community or something totally different but just as mesmerising'. That for me is what running open public servers is all about and I think Buddy Spike do a great job of that already.
  18. I think a serious mountain has been made out of a molehill here. You can read back through the thread and you'll find that there is not one complaint about Simple Radio other than one guy calling it BS which could be interpreted as the BS being the fact ED haven't implemented such a thing in DCS already. All the other posts are a discussion made by players who want it enforced and some responses by other players why not to enforce it, no announcement by Buddy Spike that it will be enforced or reason to enforce it and certainly no discrediting of anything, so I don't get the deal with all the calling out you're doing.
  19. Good job on the system reboot, last we saw of you it looked like this. :devil_2:
  20. Frostie

    prf radar modes

I guess they mean, Basse fréquence de repetition (BFR) = Low repetition frequency (LPRF) Haute fréquence de repetition (HFR) = High repetition frequency (HPRF)
  21. My analogy of the TEWS is my wife, sees everything, knows everything and doesn't shut up. Currently i'm notching her with a 30deg bank so all is quiet, can't help thinking i'm setting myself up for a nasty surprise though.
  22. The only thing to cheapen it for you is the way you fly, I don't know if you read the brief but enemy fighters carry missiles and they will shoot them at you regardless of simplicity. If the missiles ever get fixed you won't be dodging 2 or 3 so easy you'll be getting just the one in the face. When/if that happens my friend you might want to stop pretending the simplicity factor is the problem and start flying with some appropriate cover and not cheapen yourself out of how you should be operating. ;)
  23. It becomes harder but not impossible, I think that is the point though. The key is mission planning. You have a map with detailed features and mk1 eyeball for spotting these features, if you plan correctly you should be noting these features on your journey. Smoke planned return spots or places of interest for buudies, and when GCI asks for repairs to a site, of course you'll need coordinates, you shouldn't expect any less. Though I like this idea i'm not an advocate of it in BF, as i've tried to highlight with mandatory SR idea, i'm more concerned with newer players enjoying the experience and learning rather than making a public server hardcore only. Because of the complexities and questions risen from a more hardcore scenario it is more suited for a closed server with whitelisted users.
  24. From 20-35 miles, I doubt it very much. What are you doing wrong, having too high of an expectation. Get closer and shoot closer, understand about how ineffective a max range shot is compared to a within rtr shot, do a search because there is so much in this forum it is criminal not to.
  25. I think you misunderstand me, the community is being divided by some that want it mandatory and those that don't, not some that want to use it and some that don't. For them to create an aura of don't bother joining Blue Flag if you're not going to use SR is imo jumping the gun before SR has been tested fully with 50 players onboard plus the bedding in of its suitability for everyone. I'm not saying it could not work i'm saying lets help make sure it works and works well for everyone before making divisions. Just one guy has been negative about SR, i'm pretty sure 90%+ of posters and readers here are impressed and thankful for your hardwork.
