it is still in beta and aircraft's stabilization is getting better and better with updates. there is no comparable dcs aircraft with su-27 which was released before. if you are comparing with f-15, i think they are not comparable because of their differenet airframes and different flight Dynamics. i guess ,only their duty is same or similar. su-27 has unseen Flight Dynamics for a sim and we are still too stranger for this. for example we learned to fly with using trim very often:) we will see when it is finished.

Dcs World 1.2.12 main update released i tried to update main Dcs World and it has downloaded 3gb. it wasnt announced but it seems main update released :) is there anyone tried to download? now mine is 1.2.12.24915

Landing gear damage model and other issues

i think it feels right for me too. flanker's this behaviour more like delta wing behaviour. AoA position increases on low speeds and can be deeper if you are carrying weapons and that makes us not to fly on low speed with weapons su-27 have tendance to pitchup and perform cobra but asc blocks it not to do. maybe similar behaviour for f-18e and suchlike aircrafts because of their shape. just feelings:)

with this new 1.2.12 beta patch (when ASC off) still there is no g force stress or damage on aircraft wings and pilot at high speed maneouvres. waiting for main patch:(

no more dutch roll on 1.2.12:) when acs on position, yawning no more affects on rolling but if you turn off asc, yawning affects on rolling as expected. thank you ed,roll problem is done:)

Landing gear damage model and other issues
theropod replied to Witchking's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
what about this video? no damage? is su-27 landing gear strong as shown on this video? -
asc off position is only working for pitch rotation and it is not effective for yaw and roll controls. flanker have big movable control surface parts on rudders and when asc off, i expect to use more effective control on rudder at low speed manoeuvers. but it seems not effective for now.
-
yes maybe thats an issue, rudders doesnt have enough affect to change direction for high alpha angles on low speeds. maybe i am wrong but su-27's rudder has big movable control surface parts and this makes me to expect more effective on low speed manouevers.
-
this is the first prototype and had no trust vector till su-37 improved version which have movable up and down nozzles. but there is another property look at the cobra manoeuvre starts different rotation at 1:30 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-VNSJMiNt0 i think rudder seems more effective than our su-27. he can move aircraft with rudder at high angles and can turn it downwards. i hope there will be a correction on next updates.

neither i do for now but more practice will show.:) '' The Cobra Turn first gained widespread attention after it was performed by the Sukhoi Su-27, Su-35 and Su-37 at various European airshows'' note: i couldnt find any demo video which su-27 has performed this manouevre as written on wiki. i had watched lots of su-27 demo videos dated from 1989 to nowadays but none of them perform cobraturn. i am in doubt about cobraturn information on wiki.

i have g940 but i couldnt perform it. i supported the maneouvre with one engine but coudnt make it. same maneouver starts at 3:12 but different camera angle on same video

you are not alone:) i think su-27 don't like anyone who wants to push her limits on first days:) -

great but dangereous sometimes:) little adrenaline boom! thank you ironhand -
same for me and i tried it on different angles but couldnt perform. like in a deltawing i try opposite elevator push back to turn but aircraft wants to move forward and not allow to do this. maybe su-27 cant do this maneouvre like updated variants and manouevre might not be end stable like shown in the videos. side spins may take us to death(more excercise and pilot skills may need):) but there must a be way to do.

no i didnt forget, if you read carefully. ''The Cobra Turn is a fighter aircraft maneuver. It is a variation on the Pugachev's Cobra where the aircraft performs the pull-up, but instead of returning to level flight applies rudder or thrust vectoring and turns downward. '' i asked because according to wiki it contains su-27.
-
while discovering flanker capabilities, i found that variation of pughacevs cobra but i couldnt perform it. you can read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobra_Turn it seems our flanker's rudder is not effective enough to perform this manouevre or i am doing something wrong. if this is cobra turn and again if i am not wrong ,this is the most recent cobraturn performed with su-35 at paris airshow 2013. manouevre starts at 3:13 and here is another example which was performed earlier: starts at 2:55 yes, i know those are su-35s but according to cobra turn information, su-27 can do the same manouevre. is there anyone could do that? thanks.

i found that old video about su-27 and at 0:10 seconds there starts a short run and takeoff like f-15c does at airshows. i tried that take off with very low fuel and asc off but su-27 cannot perform this takeoff maneouvre short like this in sim or i cannot handle it. is there anyone can perform short takeoff like this? thanks -
