  1. That's an interesting idea, for a way to sell a game. I don't think ED would implement it even if hell froze over, but maybe someone some day experiments with this. Making it so that free players can only use 1 or 2 vehicles in CA (abrams and T-90 for example) would also be interesting to see. As an experiment in selling a video game it certainly would be interesting to see. In FC2 i remember if you didn't buy the game but tried to play it, you'd spawn into an aircraft and an AI would start playing through the mission, you could sit in the cockpit and watch all the instruments work, just not control it.
  2. HAHAHAHAH!
  3. you don't need triggers to make them function, unless you want them to only fire at specific distances or times, ect. the only need to be in one group and the radar needs to see the vehicle, and have line of sight to the missile launcher (other wise the missile explodes on launch). also radar wont see helicopters unless they are above 140km/h
  4. apply valve time to all of EDs time estimates.
  5. eeehm, there is a script for that...
  6. No there was a lock, just no launch warning, at least i seem to remember that.
  7. With no altitude gain?
  8. I do get it, I don't see the use of it though. But the more stuff the better right?
  9. The gagarin video. they say he took off apparently drunk and crashed, some saying it was intentional. First time I've head of this... Next up The moon landings were cartoons.
  10. Seems to me if they could fire actual stingers at planes they'd do that instead of somkey sams.
  11. in the same video, once it can be seen, once its not very prominent, so I'm guessing it's altitude difference, and we don't have missile contrailing in the game. But the r-73 seems to have a very prominent trail, at least what i can see from videos. though i guess it's a bit overdone in game. The game also uses the same effect for all the Russian missiles, so they all plume the same amount
  12. it shouldnt be, but it can be helpful in certain situations.
  13. Actually it can help you get in to hover really fast, because it still tries to get the helicopter to slow down even at 200+
  14. the wheels ruin the squareness of the thing.
  15. Could even the best of home PCs handle full dynamic lighting and shadow projection at that scale. I have a feeling that it wouldn't do very well.
  16. Its probably not big, it just causes your PC to die..
  17. That's the boresight, you can't lase targets when using the boresight.
  18. there's multiple levels of zoom, first it becomes a box, and then it goes into the accurate sight. use the zoom in zoom out keys, not the "O" key
  19. zoom in again...
  20. When you do this, players find it too hard, and dont want to play, because suddenly when they fly over a town, there just may be a manpad on a roof, or a AAA behind a building waiting for something to fly low, or heck, they may need to do the most blasphemous thing of all, teamwork.
  21. I had it wrong the first time, i just found it strange that the same lights turn on for both the recover and the when pressing the "H" and both locked the roll.
  22. cuz people other than you wanted it?
  23. maybe you have hyperthreading turned on, maybe that's causing it, ive had issues in many games because of hyperthreading.
  24. Its linked to the throttle like its already been said. put your plane in a nose dive, and put throttle to idle, it'll tell you you're losing speed, do it in a steep climb and afterburner on, it'll tell you you're gaining speed, even though you aren't. If it's correct, that makes the whole existence of the indicator particularly useless.
