When I need to repair my aircraft, I first had to shut down the engines and then wait 2-3 Minutes until the repair procedure begins - why? Is it a penalty for damaging the aircraft? It is faster for me, to leave the slot and start with a new plane / new slot. Also, would be great, if we could speed up refueling a bit.

While playing a mission on a well visited multiplayer server, I saw a strange thing. An T90 tank just moves into the protected airfield. The barriers like fences, walls, tons, sandbags, buildings are not a problem. The tank just drove through it, without destroying it. I quickly tried to make a video, but in VR it is in very bad quality. I never made a mission with the missioneditor, so I don't know, if you have to define every path, an enemy vehicle can move, even to avoid any obstacles. But I hope this is not necessary. Every AI unit should know, where is an obstacle, can I destroy it or not and drives around it. This was really strange. If the rules do not apply for AI units... Unfortunately, because we can not play multiplayer track files (see other mentioned bug), I also can not show the the bug in an replay. Maybe I can restore / improve the video quality from my recording, so I will upload it.

I can confirm that, but only for multiplayer tracks. Also, the game stucks at the loading screen with the error message "mission load fail" and you have to kill dcs with the task manager, because there is no other option to continue or quit the game. Bad error handling. null

It would be great, if we could save the AA radar settings. After completing all settings, moving to a different missile, AG mode or dogfight mode, the settings are gone and I have to set it again (TWR, 40 Miles...) I don't know if this save is possible in the real F16, but it is possible in the F18C and I like the option.
-
A push back functionality like in MS FS would be great. With that, it is possible to move planes backward in hangar or leave a hangar, also move the f18 closer to the border of an carrier. Add an option "start push back" and "stop push back" to the ground radio

user resolved Zoom-Button on the RHG doesn't work only on MFD
v2tec posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Update: Now in a different SP mission, zoom-Button works. I will test it with other missions... +++ Pressing the zoom-Button on the RHG or by using the hotkey doesn't work - it doesn't enter the zoom mode. However, when I click on "zoom" on the MFD it works. Update: I have noticed, that when I have activated the zoom mode on the MFD I can deactivate it with the zoom-Button on the RHG. So it seems that I just can not enter the zoom-Mode with the zoom-Button. The scope-Button on the RHG works, as well as the "g scop" on the MFD. So, it doesn't work like Matt Wagner has shown in his video - second way works, first way doesn't. -
No, I don't have any modules with jester. But with Alice...

There's an jettison button for the right and left wing tips. Can we expect new weapons (e.g. Stingers) for the wing tips? null

Sometimes, flights could take some time. Wouldn't it be great, if George starts talking stories (about his family), jokes or singing... comment the weather Or even comment some actions "Die bastard", "yeah", "We are fu..." ...

Maybe it is alreay in the game - but to be honest, I have never seen it. Changes from sun to clouds and rain, and back... Btw. do the clouds cast the correct shadows on the surface? I have seen some problems in previous versions but didn't follow that point.

What would be the diversity / difference? If you wear an uniform and a helmet (with visor) - how would you know if it is man or woman? The mustache or bust size? If it is just the face, it should be easy to implement and replace the face with others - or better, let us import our own face image for the pilot model...
-
Well, it normaly depends on what is burning, however, I find the smoke and smoke trails in dcs are much to thin. There should be more smoke and the smoke normally goes higher in the sky and doesn't just disappear after a few meters.

Ground textures are looking like 15 years old. It's time to cleanup this pixel salad. We all have more performance on our computers and can handle better / bigger ground textures. Gardens, houses, streets, paths... everything could have more details. This would make flying an helicopter much more enjoyable and realistic. Please increase LOD.

Couldn't disconnect from Server and quit DCS (video)
v2tec replied to v2tec's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Looks like it is gone / fixed with the latest patch. -
It takes several seconds (30+) till I left an online server and back in the lobby or even when quitting the game either in a mission or in the main menu - it takes so long until the game shuts down. I could press ALT+F4 and I am faster. Even when I quit the mixed reality portal (for VR), DCS is going to shut down immediately (well, it's not graceful but effective). Maybe we can speed this up in further releases.

Yeah, that is correct. I tried to increase the vegetation by a higher LOD-rate, but only objects like tents... are effected. Bushes and stones always appear at the same distance. That's not a problem for aircrafts, when you are flying in high altitude, but it is very annoying when flying an helicopter. All those bushes and stones suddenly appear, looks like they just start to grow very fast. I think it should be quit easy to fix this for DCS. This is an general problem and also affects all other maps (Syria, ...)
-
I like the map, it has a lot of different surface types (water, mountains, ...) Please keep up the good work and improve the map, because there's a high potential in the map, SuperCarrier (not possible on the afghanistan map)... It is also a quite actual / interesting map. I hope we will see more servers hosting this map.

After playing a few hours (in vr) with the new patched version 2.9.8.1107 I can confirm the performance has been improved. It is also good to see a lot of bug fixes in the patch description, even improvements for the (good old) syria map. btw, had no problems with updated process. Good Patch. However, didn't check my WW2 modules...

Yes, works - played today.

I just bought the kola map a few days ago. I don't see any performance problems playing on multiplayer servers. Everything runs fine and smooth and I really like the map - didn't expect that. The only thing I am missing are more airfields and maybe some summer textures, but I heared it will probably come with the next update package. Hardware: i9-14900k, 48 GB RAM, RTX 4090, HP Reverb G2 Settings: DLSS, Quality and highest settings (textures, sharpening, clouds, view, water...)

The cockpit pilot looks great. But it is very unhandy to find a right spot looking beside the hand to find the switches. What would be really great - you know, where we are looking in VR, please move the corresponding hand onto the left or right leg, when we are looking to the side panel. I would be natural and much easier to reach the buttons or read button states. An animation of moving the hand / arm would be great, but it is totally sufficient to just render the hand on the leg and when looking to somewhere else, move the hand back to the control.

What Maps / Terrains are recommend for playing WW2 Warbirds?
v2tec replied to v2tec's topic in DCS: The Channel
Are there any known roadmaps from DCS about terrains or planes - not only for WW2? A page on the website would be great, to see what is planned, what they are working on... especially for the early access products. I liked the Development Roadmap from MSFS 2020 -
Can mountains be less smooth and more realistic?
v2tec replied to LimePartician's topic in Wish List
I have the opposite wish, at least when beeing close to the mountain, especially when flying an heli. You can see the straight lines of the polygons and hard edges. On the sloping level you will see buildings, no one can live inside and streets no vehicle can ever use, because of the angle. Edges of mountains should be much smoother, when you are close to them or realistic sharp. Yes, this would be an (massive) increase of the amount of polygons, however, after more than 15 years of DCS and the progress in PC hardware, we should be able to handle this. You can also do a lot with LOD. Maybe I will add some screenshots later - but you probably all know what I mean.
