  1. ED? I tried today to disable easy communication, but more of the same. ATC of Manston in Normandy 2.0 does not reply.... NEVER. No matter if the airfield is red, blue or white, no matter if the two- or three-digit frequencies are used, no matter the WWII airplane, USA, UK or German, no matter if one uses the “old” radio frequencies of the channel map OR the ones in the “new” Normandy 2.0 map... I have not tried other airfields. Please advise.
  2. Funnily enough, after performing several times the painfully well known Press num. 0 , then num Enter, now each time I start a newly saved mission in DCS 2.9.1.48335 Open Beta the view goes properly to the default view immediately., each time. At least it is so with the WWII planes, I will test the others....
  3. Thanks, done... let's see if this works..
  4. I can't believe it.... DCS 2.9.1.48335 Open Beta Issue still present....
  5. VERY welcome the addition of the airfield Manston, among others to the Normandy 2.0 map. Though the “old” radio frequencies of said airfield are different than the ones in the “new” Normandy 2.0 map, see screenshots. That would not be a problem, but the ATC of Manston in Normandy 2.0 does not reply....
  6. Not here.... Problem still very much present after the 2.9 hotfix 2.9.0.47168 Open Beta. Windows 10. Mainboard: ASUS Maximus X Hero Intel Z 370 CPU: Intel Core i7-8086K @ 4.0 GHz Memory: 32GB Corsair DDR4-3000 Graphics Card: ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB Monitor ASUS - Oled PG42UQ 41.5" @ 4K 1 SSD Samsung 860 PRO 256 GB 1 SSD Samsung 860 PRO 4 TB Windows 10 - 64 CH Pro combatstick, throttle and pedals
  7. Problem still present after the 2.9 hotfix 2.9.0.47168 Open Beta! Very disappointing.... In my end the workaround works with all the planes, including the F-16. On some planes, especially the A-10 II, no matter what mission, the view goes AUTOMATICALLY* to the default cockpit zoom / view. No need for pushing buttons or ctrl + num0 2x workarounds, *AS BY THE WAY IT SHOULD BE... This proves that something like this is "possible"...
  8. Very disappointing. The issue is still present in the HUGE update DCS 2.9.0.46801.
  9. Yes, thanks, the workaround works, but it is just that.. a workaround... Don't you all think that ED should correct this bug? As I wrote, since years this was working properly, just pressing the shortcut key "View > Zoom normal" ...
  10. Excellent suggestion Indeed.... Since AGES this was working properly, just pressing the shortcut "View > Zoom normal" whatever this would be..
  11. Too late.... In the meantime I have switched to open beta, surprisingly with no problems......
  12. Well, I did shoot and the bandit was destroyed, no problem with that, I have done it many times. Still, even with an IL-76, the radar looses very often the lock, and the shoot message appears, yes, but way into visual range, and shortly. I meant the AIM-120 AMRAAM's could do better than that.... In any case, it was not like this about a year ago. Possibly it was wrong then. I will try with the sparrows.
  13. I don't get it.. isn't my steering dot to be inside the ASE circle? The MIG is right in front of me, less then 7 NM, just over 12 km away. And why does the lock often disappear?
  14. As the title says... I have switched my DCS from stable to the latest DCS 2.8.4.39313 Open Beta, but this problem is still not resolved, as already mentioned in this thread:
  15. This is indeed a valid argument! If I am not mistaken, Normandy 2.0 and the channel map are the only two DCS maps that overlap in some places. If one wants to fly from one of the new Normandy 2.0 airports to say, Manston near Margate, using the Normandy 2.0 map, no way... because the Manston airport does not exist in Normandy 2.0, only on the channel map..... As do many other airports, present in Normandy 2.0, but not on the channel map. And... viceversa....
  16. Exactly... And I would add the OVERWHELMING majority of the players are using the open beta as a release version then it serves no purpose at all.
  17. Well, there you have it. Fine, all software has bugs, and those of the OB are not worse than the release. Completely useless and confusing to have two versions.
  18. Well, if as you say, "Latest stable is the last-but one Open Beta". Pushed down the throat whether it's really ready or not. "Good enough" rather than really polished".... Why don't they publish that stable? It's been over 4 months since the last one..... That sentence confirm my point. If the latest stable is the last Open Beta, whether it's really ready or not and not polished, then why in this earth have two versions, other than use paying customers as beta-testers? By the way, many of those, myself included, not qualified to do so, as it has been pointed out in this very thread. Rather not offer constantly discounts and more discounts and giving loads of stuff for free, and use those resources for proper developing and testing.
  19. I have a 4 TB SSD.. But both installed? Yeah, sure... so each time one changes one setting in the OB one has to change it in the release... because they would have different folders in username/saved games / dcs and username/saved games / dcs-openbeta.. Let's make the life more complicated.... Sure I would be more than happy... That would solve not only the issue of Normandy 2, but many others too... You said it.. Very true. DCS is the only game I know of that uses it’s beta as the dominant public version.
  20. Again, cold not agree more, SharpeXB. And Baldrick33, I was also surprised, as I wanted to buy Normandy 2, which "was released into early access for purchase yesterday", it stated that I had already a serial number. In any case, to be able to use Normandy 2.0, the only option I have is switch to the open beta, if I don't want to wait months on end..... I have backupped everything, but really hope that this does NOT makes a huge mess with the settings, sounds, mods, etc. which takes AGES to configure...
  21. And this is true, also not considering multiplayer, to which I am not interested... So to be able to use Normandy 2.0, which I bought ages ago, the only option I have is switch to the open beta, if I don't want to wait months on end..... Wish me luck! Again, could not agree more.....
  22. Could not agree more. Exactly my point.
  23. So here we are again.. It's been 4 months since the last stable....
