  1. Surprising you would write this... Can you explain me why in the shadows.lua of a fresh install the option ultra is still there? Moreover, editing the shadows.lua as described in this forum and as my attachment, does not cause a performance issue whatsoever, but drawa FAR better shadows in the cockpit...... shadows.lua
  2. Surprising.... Do you use gamma 3.0?
  3. Still, after several updates, this issue persists......
  4. Please see: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/dcs-world-war-ii/dcs-p-47-thunderbolt/7117141-p-47-cockpit-too-dark-a-comparaison

    DCS : F4U-1 Corsair

    Can't wait....
  6. Thanks, but that does not help track it down for me. But anyway, I am happy with my rig and my settings, @ 4K I have 90 % of the time solid 60 FPS, in every situation, excepting the Channel map, wich is OBVIOUSLY busted, same as it was the Normandy map quite some time ago...
  7. Whatever. Point is the Channel map is not optimized as ALL the other maps. VR or not VR. This is a fact. Motion smoothing ? Where is this setting ?
  8. OK fine, Thank you very much indeed again for your help!
  9. Motion smoothing ? Where is this setting ? Although there is something wrong with the channel anyway... I get in A L L other maps solid 60 FPS with my settings, and I have ALL of them, except Syria.
  10. And all screenshots taken with full cockpit lightning.....
  11. P-47 cockpit is too dark! Here you have a comparaison of all the WWII warbirds. Obviously the screenshots are taken with the same 2.2 gamma values and exactly the same position / lightning. Unfortunately, following the latest trend, ED made the .DDS textures not editable, I could not open them in Photoshop....

    DCS : F4U-1 Corsair

    EXCELLENT question!
  13. This counts also in VR.
  14. Well, that is what I did, C:\Users\MyName\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\aircraft\SpitfireLFMkIX\Cockpit\Textures\Cockpit_Spitfire_LFMkIX_Textures.zip But this has no effect. I have to put those textures in the main Install. (which by the way make the cockpit readable, with the ED ones the cockpit gauges are barely readable in low light conditions)... Thank you very much indeed again for your help!
  15. Ah so... So if I understand correctly, the cockpit sound of the engine of the spit is Effects/Aircrafts/Engines/PT6A-25C/ and not PackardMerlinProp. Will give it a try, Thanks again.... This trick of including changes in C:\Users\MyName\Saved Games\DCS\ seems to work with the sounds, can you tell me why it does not work for other stuff, like changing the GAZ 66 Trucks in \DCS\\Bazar\World\Shapes\gaz-66_searchlight.edm or DCS\\Mods\aircraft\SpitfireLFMkIX\Cockpit\Textures\Cockpit_Spitfire_LFMkIX_Textures.zip ?
  16. Well, I have managed to change succesfully the engine cockpit sounds of the P-51, F-18 and A-10 by placing the modified .wav or ogg files of an old DCS in: C:\Users\MyName\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines\V_1650_7\Cockpit (P-51) C:\Users\MyName\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\FA-18\Cockpit (F-18) C:\Users\acroc\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines (A-10) But not a chance to do the same for the Spit. The files of an old DCS wich were in: \DCS\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines\PackardMerlinProp\Cockpit DO NOT CHANGE the sounds of the engine in the cockpit of the Spit. Does somebody know more?
  17. Well, 45 FPS mean stutters, or at least not a fluid movement... Monitor @ 60 Hertz, solid, stable 60 FPS equals fluid movement... I get in A L L other maps solid 60 FPS with my settings, and I have ALL of them, except Syria.
  18. Well thank you very much for your reply, but the directory D:\Games\DCS World\Sounds\ does not exist any more... It has been replaced by D:\Games\DCS World\Sounds.edc\ Moreover, I don't understand what is the utility of opening D:\Games\DCS World\Doc\Sounds\sdef_and_wave_list.txt and search for "RollsRoyce" ??
  19. Hello, thanks for your reply!.... Well, that's the rub... what I am trying to do is replace the engine sound of the Spit, it used to be: D:\Games\DCS World\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines\RollsRoyceMerlin And now it should go into ? D:\Games\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\SpitfireLFMkIX\Sounds.edc ?
  20. Latest Nvidia drivers, latest stable DCS 2.5.6, no improvement whatsoever. The Channel SSSSSTTTTTUUUUUTTERSSSS......
  21. Thanks Chuck!!!
  22. You can put modified sounds from an old DCS installation in your Username/DCSxxxx/Sounds, but I have not found out exactly how it works.. some work for me, like the F-16 F-18 and A-10, but I have not managed to modify the horrible Spitfire cockpit sound (lawnmower).... Screenshot included.
  23. OK Thank you very much for your complete repy!
  24. Thanks.... So there is no way to do this INSIDE DCS......?
