  1. I ain't gettin' any younger here :music_whistling:
  2. Put them in your saved games/dcs world openalpha/missions folder then select My Missions when dcs world is open
  3. I don't know if this is a bug or not but I have noticed the same thing.
  4. A hard lesson learned today. Click HERE
  5. What I would like to see are missions for the A-10C that would be for the purpose of practicing attacks on ISIS in Iraq and Syria with mock rural areas set up to look like known hot spots in the combat zone. Hypothetically these training missions would be used to prepare pilots that have been selected for deployment when ready. I wonder if Ranger79's object pack will work in NTTR. That would be an awesome addition.
  6. I'll give it a try ASAP and thanks.
  7. I am not only retired but I have no wife. It just doesn't get any better than that. :megalol:
  8. I would be very grateful if anyone has any 4 ship A-10C MP missions to share.
  9. I am as dumb as a box of rocks with the ME so if I can make it work, anyone can. Be patient, it's just some simple little detail that will set things straight I'm sure.
  10. I am overwhelmed with NTTR and have merely scratched the surface of it's potential. I have been waiting over 15 years for this and look forward to the future developments already in the pipeline. Bravo ED and thanks.:notworthy:
  11. I have only flown a mission that I created in the ME and noticed the same thing.
  12. I remember this happening when 1.5 first came out but I don't remember what I did to solve the problem. However, 2 things come to mind....if you create a mission in the 1.5 ME after saving it close DCS World completely and re-open it before you try to run a mission. There seems to be a glitch in the save function in 1.5. Attached is an autoexec file that takes the place of the internet speed options we use to have. This should optimize the upload and download speeds for the server. Place the file in the saved games/DCS OpenBeta/config folder. Hope that helps. If you are trying to run older missions be advised that slmod is not compatible with 1.5 and mist needs to be updated to the latest version. autoexec.cfg
  13. You bring up a good point in that 1.5 seems to more accurately render the true camouflaged properties of the enemy ground vehicles, coupled with more realistic lighting and shadows. Although it presents a greater challenge, to me the change represents a greater degree of realism, and I'm always in favor of that.
  14. See if you can get it HERE
  15. Go to Start/All programs/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World OpenBeta/Documentation and you will see a user manual that will answer many of your questions.
  16. Wait until you get the joystick and learn how to fly an aircraft of your choosing before you become concerned with mods. Model enlargement is an option that makes air and ground units appear larger and easier to see from the cockpit.
  17. Of course it will always be a matter of opinion but I have tried all the terrain mods in the past 2 years and in my opinion the current default terrain in the 1.5 beta is the best I have seen and I have no plans to make a change. The only exception is the mountains textures I have stolen from Barthek's terrain mod. It's awesome!
  18. In 1.2 I rarely ever used the brightness or contrast buttons on the TGP screen but with 1.5 I have found that by increasing the contrast and reducing the brightness in CCD mode it makes it much easier to see the targets. Those buttons are there for a reason and I can't help but wonder how often a RL pilot would use them to accomplish the same goal depending on RL terrain, weather and variables in lighting conditions. One thing I have always done and continue to do is reduce the brightness on the TAD screen to improve the ability to see the symbology against the map.

  20. HERE is another thread regarding the same issue.
  21. In the past when I have used user created terrain mods they have looked great from the cockpit but caused the same issues when using the TGP in the A-10C so I was always forced to disable them. Now what we have is essentially the same thing, but rather than a mod that can be enabled or disabled, with 1.5 these terrain textures are there by default. Unfortunately for the Hawg drivers, the A-10C is probably the only aircraft in the mix that is experiencing a negative impact from the new textures and apart from manually tweaking some lua files we will just have to live with it as long as we use the Black Sea map.......which for me won't be much longer.
  22. You might try registering at SimHQ and check their Teamspeak server on a regular basis. There are usually a few DCS pilots on that fly coop missions but whether or not it's a fit for you may depend on your time zone and what aircraft you fly.
  23. Only a true flight sim enthusiast would be willing to invest the time it takes to become proficient with the A-10C and it saddens me to see that there seems to be fewer and fewer of those entering this community.
  24. If you cancel and restart from the start menu it will use the old downloader at normal speed.
  25. I cancelled and restarted and have the old downloader back at normal speeds.
