I'm having trouble with that but that's because I can't get speach recognigtion to get to the desired cofidence the best I got was 59/60. lol I did get a "christal palace status" once. But if I try something simpler like "Texaco status" or "texaco interrogate" it is working.

I'm just getting to test the new version now, so far this are my findings: In general things appear to be working. I don't really use AOCS but i've tired it since a lot of people are having trouble, and it is working for me. Now that xWARGOx has asked the question (if there is a specific frequency for AOCS, and since the answer is yes). I wonder if that's the trouble people are having? Beeing used to the old way of doing things, they didn't notice it in the announcement or the manual? It could be something else, but just putting it out there that some could be having trouble because of this. So far no trouble on my end, there's still a few things I want to figure out, exactly how integration works etc. Will report any findings.

I get that sometimes, but it's not update related. All I do is exit VA and DCS, restart VA and DCS (in that order) and it has always worked to clear the problem for me.
-
I wouldn't know. I don't have chatter.

Just open the PDF they are right there on the apropriate sections.

This has to be a joke. Certainly this has to be a joke.

I'm using the square, because logic dictated that (not beeing a calibrated PS controller) you wouldn't get full axis travel at the diagonals, however I did a quick test of this when installing and I seemed to conclude that you did get full travel in all situations (not sure how that works), I still ended up going with the square one, and haven't used the round one on actual gameplay to tell the diference.

@HeathenHedgehog what you are describing is normal Vaicom operation. Sounds like your issue is the TX mode of operation, you may now have "NORMAL" mode selected when you used to have one of the others. Maybe "INV"? The reason you can't get Jester to respond to "select" command on ICS TX is because "select" is not an AIRIO function but a Vaicom default function, that is suposed to work exactly how you are describing: Pressing the TX of the Radio you want to tune to the recipients frequency and calling the "select" recipient command. This obviously makes it not ideal for a multiplayer enviroment and one of the reasons I don't use it. Maybe we could get @Hollywood_315 to add this as an AIRIO command on some future update. ;) Along with the new channel select, that would be wonderfull!

@moonshot, I think the correct way to get it, is through their discord. They make you click a few things to get full access and then you are able to access the password, It's not that dificult and does let people know what they are joining into. And I assumed you had gotten the PW the proper way and were now giving it away after you had been entrusted with it, that would have been bad form IMO. I can see finding it the way you did, why you didn't think much of it.

I've never used the "Select" command, so I can't be much help, but unlike "Link Host" that's not a Jester (AIRIO) command, even though it apperar on AIRIO Radio Section commands, as a reminder I supose. Maybe because of that their inner workings are somewhat diferent.

I can guarantee to you 100% that before this update the command was indeed not "Request rejoin" but it already was "aproaching for refuel". I did find myself making this mistake just a few days ago, so I'm not sure if the command was changed at some point, or my memory was actualy referencing the DCS comms menu command, which is indeed "request rejoin", and if you have pilot voice on, you will your pilot say that regardless. But again this was not changed in this updade because I've been using Vaicom a lot before updade, and doind A2A refuel, and haven't had a chance to try the update yet. If this was indeed changed in the past (I think it's unlikely) it wasn't now.

@Commodore I apreciate what you are saying and the squadron route is definetly not for everyone. And while there's a lot of complicated stuff you can get into, installing SRS certainly is not one of them, it's just like installing any other app. And keeping it updated is as simple as clicking an "accept" button. Also with most servers suporting auto-connect you don't even have to launch it or look for the server address for SRS. You have it installed and once you join the DCS server SRS will auto launch and connect. The only thing you have to configure for sure is the PTT keys to use with SRS. In the end of the day, this is flight simming and due to it's very nature none of us who have done this for a while expect an out of the box experience, not in our hardware and not in our software. You can stick with it of course, but there's always limitations if you do. And I'd also say that hardly any servers out there require you to install anything, and certainly not mess with scripts. Install mods at most and that's usually copy files to a certain location. Most don't require any thing assides from mandatory voice coms, SRS or other, as most things are handled server side. @moonshot, I understand your frustration but its bad form to share here a password to a server that "guards" it under certain conditions. The reason they do that is to make sure people that do join there respect certain standarts and observe certain rules, that's why they make you jump through certain hoops, so you get to be aware of the requirements and decide you will accept them before you join in. There are other servers to fly if you want a more casual experience. But I garantee if you take the time to try to get into voice comms you won't regret it. It's not just about "pretendind" to be a real pilot in a real operation, but it's about beeing effective in your siming, coordinating efforts and comming out on top through team work. And not beeing an ass and flying into other traffic around the airfield too! :)

I don't fly often in VR but i've tried my hand at A2A refueling with and hands down I found it much easier than 2D. I gess my sugestion would be, not to reference anything, instead fly formation and use deepth percetion to insert the probe into the basket, really look at both and get a perception to where they both are. You'll find I belive that you can even often connect with movement on combined axis because you can just understand so well how everything is moving relative to everything else.

You must say for exemple: "Radio Tune two five zero decimal zero" or "Radio Tune two five zero decimal six" or "Radio Tune two five zero decimal two five" or "Radio Tune two five zero decimal five zero" or or "Radio Tune two five zero decimal seven five"

I just got it working with SRS took me all morning to figure out and setup... I gess I'm stupid!
-
Hopefully they are aware this is not a SP or even Player only issue. As AI flights will also not spawn on the Tarawa unless their start is set to "Runway".
-
By the way don't know if anyone else was having trouble with "Radio Tune" command with AIRIO, but I changed mine to just "Radio...." and I get much more consistent recognition now, maybe something to do with my pronunciation. So... Hey made it better for me, maybe it helps someone else as well.
-
It's an AIRIO function, it's "Radio Tune x x x decimal" "x" or "xx" or "x x x". It's explained in the manual.
-
No track needed this is easily reproducible and affects both player flights and AI flights. Tarawa ATM is only available for start from Runway. Edit: Did some quick testing helicopters are able to ramp from the Tarawa, which seems to indicate this is a Tarawa bug not the Harrier itself. Also the Helicopters can only ramp from spot #4, as spots #1,#2,#3. Will guarantee a dive into the ocean.

It's a function of SRS running on servers that have it configured. Not sure how to set it up, never quite got into it. But theoreticaly you could host your own SRS server and connect to it locally if you want it working. But again you'll have to research how to set up the ATIS.
-
He was asking for a way to tell Jester AI to tune to the RIO radio preset frequencies. Which is not the case you cannot do that ATM. But you can definetly tell Jester through AIRIO to Tune a Manual specific frequency. I find it a bit funky with the speech recognition and I don't really like using the select command. Would rather see the preset selection make it's way into Jester AI.

@Hollywood_315 Hey again, I gess I'm on a roll today... I found bug, "Countermesures Auto" and Countermesures Off" are switched around, you get the oposite response. "Countermesures Manual" is working as intended. I checked with the Jester wheel, to see if this only happened with Vaicom or if it was a HB F-14 problem, and it's actually on Vaicom's side. Jester Wheel works as intended for this.
-
@hreich I think you get the delay of the Jester AI or Iceman AI not beeing avaible when switching cockpits, I think as you noticed if you wait a few seconds it will fix itself. @Hollywood_315 Could this be a possible solution to my request? Also I just noticed something there is some missing functionality regarding radios from AIRIO, namedly the ability to tell Jester to select radio channels and to switch back and forth between channels and manual frequencies. This is something actually possible trough the Jester Wheel. Any chance we'll see this added in the future?

Hey @Hollywood_315, Have found a possible issue with "Set Ripple Quantity step", I'm not entirely sure but I think it's intended use is to step one up in the quantity, but all it seems to do is sometimes selecting 2 other times 3. I also have a little request, I don't know if it's at all possible to implement. But it would be nice when using AIRIO that if we are having dificulties getting some command recognized that we could have access to a backup menu such as the one we get with the "Options" command. I have some trouble with radio frequencies and sometimes with TACAN channels in particular. Given the particularities of the Jester wheel I don't know if this is possible, but if it is consider it a wish list. Speaking of which really apreciated that you took the trouble to heed my other request of making the Jester wheel automaticaly avaiable when running DCS without VA. Thank you very much for your continued support.
