  1. The DFGT switch has another function as it is a 3 position switch. To select the MRM (Medium Range Missile) Override mode.
  2. Been flying the F-14 everyday recently and never had this problem.
  3. Never mind I was thinking of the test on the ground. You can sweep them back all the way to 68 degrees. Goes to show you how many times I've used manual sweep in flight... :D
  4. Well since this has been resurrected. I don't mean to say you should retrain yourself at all. If this is how you sim, and you are happy and comfortable with it, I'm certanely not going to tell you "you're wrong!". But Having said that, I'd like to agree with what some have said before, this shouldn't be that much of an issue. Other's have pointed several examples so I will not repeat them, but I'll add to what has been said, Airbus airliner captains have to use a left hand stick to control the plane. As well as any captain of any plane that has a co-pilot has to at least use the yoke with the left hand when using the throttle. Presumebly most of this captains are right handed and this is not an inderance. Someone also pointed before the example of driving, in that regard I have a personal experience where live in a right hand drive country but I actually took my license in england, where I was staying at the time. When I came home I transitioned with no problems. Just wanted to leave it out there...
  5. The A-10s HUD only appeared in full view before because the pilot was sitting way forward. If it has been moved back now (haven't tried it yet) it's perfectly normal that it doesn't fit in the entire view. I think the compromise of having the view moved forward was a good one on the limited thing that is a flat 2d screen (a lot of DCS planes do this actually, the downside is that for me at least, the cockpit frame is usually more dificult to deal with when chasing a target) . If you tried VR with the old cockpit and sat in the proper position you'd see that using the HUD (with both eyes) was not a problem at all, and you can move your head much more intuitively than even track IR to see all that you need. This will probably be tweaked some, but moving your default view point to where it feels good for you is probably something I would have recomended on the old pit anyway.
  6. For one last time. The Keys work, but they don't do the same as the handle. The Keys are bindings to the 4 way Hat swith on the throttle. They don't control the handle, the handle is not meant to be moved in flight except in an emergency. Again the switch on the throtte (to which those keybinds belong to) will move the wings, but typicaly you will only be able to move them back (to 50 degrees max) and never forward of what the computer has determined (Max forward comanded position). Also this will only work if the yellow emergency handle is pressed down.
  7. I'm certanly very apreciative of HB general treatment of the comunity and costumers. I Think the set a very good exemple on this subject. Also on the subject of releasing a EA module, they are better than most including ED. I can't speak for the Viggen as I don't have it, even though it has always been a plane I'm apreciative of, maybe from my days of playing Fighter Bomber on the ZX Spectrum... I do plan to get it at some point but money doesn't stretch, so it's in the slow burner for now. I can however speak for the Tomcat and even though it's still a bit ways of from finished, things left to implement, bugs, etc. What we have now is already great and amazing, I love learning this plane as a whole machine, really incredible. So... no one can make that decision for you and I think no one can disrespect your decision if you decide not to buy at this time. But I think if there's a developer for DCS that IMO has come to deserve some slack because of the respect and also competence they have shown it's definitely Heatblur. What can I say? I hate fanboyism, buy I'm really a Heatblur fan right now.
  8. I'm not going to bother any more, serious. This does not seem like a case of "I don't understand the language", because you seem to understand fine when it suits you. This seems more like a case of, "people are not telling me what I want to hear or what I assumed, so I'm just going to ignore them". Even though people have tried to tell you time and time again what you want to know, and how to achive what you want to do. But because it's not done how you think it should be done you ignore it. I'm out!
  9. Honestly that video shows nothing usefull because you are just using the yellow cockpit lever. We know that works. What I can tell you is if you want to use the Wing Sweep forward/back assignemts you have to keep that yellow lever pressed down and the cover closed. And you must also press the master reset button after you have done it.
  10. Press the yellow lever down (right mouse button) close the cover. Then press the master reset button.
  11. I feel you #Captain Orso. I have often talked about how ED never implemented for exemple a proper way for us to set our afterburner range, so it matches our physical throttles. I don't think they ever even aknoledged the issue. It appears such a straight forward thing. But maybe it's not so much as I previously thought. I was thinking about it recently how they could add it as a special option, each module could have it, as each module seems to have a slightly diferent range, and you could just set your afterburner range in a percentage (preferably tenths of a percentage), that would be easy enough. Would be better if you could also put a small deadzone there, but i'd be happy with just that. But I was thinking about it, and I think that maybe the afterburner range in DCS isn't tied to the axis range at all, but rather to the lever in the 3D pit itself. Of course the 3D lever is tied to the axis. But I think this implementation may complicate (obviously not make impossible) what aparently would be just a couple hours of programing (or less) to something much more complicated to which ED has never wanted to alocate resources to solve, even though it HAS been asked for many years.
  12. Exactly as Quigon replied, refer to that part of the manual to see the switch position on the throttle. You will find the keybinds under "Throttle", recoment you use a 4 way hat as it is a 4 way swith IRL with 4 diferent positions, besides Fwd and Back, you also have Auto and Bomb mode. As for using the wing sweep manualy in a Dogfight, really not recomended unless you had a malfunction. Besides you can't move the wings fwd at will, not past the Comanded "most fwd allowed" you can only move the aft of that. On the other hand you have the manouver flaps (operated with the DLC shitch not the FLAPS LEver), that can be handy to manually control at times.
  13. Thanks Bellow Average! Are you aware if this has been reported or aknoledged?
  14. Hum? More than it takes to extend/retract the refuling probe with the hand pump?
  15. The Manual states in the Cabin Inspection checklist (straight out of NATOPS :) ) : 35. Brake accumulator pressure - Check in Green. and 36. HYD HAND PUMP - Check. Check that pumping builds pressure on brake pressure gauge. Now the only brake pressure gauge I was so far able to find in the cockpit is the one in front of the flight stick, next to the cabin pressure gauge. Well not only is not indicating Green (35) when cold on a cold start but the neddles also do not move when using the manual Pump (36). Can someone from Heatblur comment on this? BUG, TBI, WIP, I'm looking at the wrong gauge maybe?
  16. I had a problem with DCS unrelated to Vaicom which I was only able to clear "deleting" my saved game folder. But I didn't exactly delete it. I moved it and then moved it back by parts, testing to see if the problem returned. A bit time consuming, but I also didn't want to lose all my settings. The problem never came back, but then again I didn't copy everything back. I left out outdated controls and other things I knew to be unecessary, or needless to ovewrite what was newly created. So I didn't pinpoint the culpit but problem was solved and I kept all my important settings.
  17. Also those keys don't move the lever. They are for the "Hat switch" on your throttle. The yellow lever is an Emergency lever. Push it all the way forward, push it in, close cover and press master reset button. Then use the switch on the throttle to command auto mode. And you should be good to go for most situations.
  18. And the straw man award goes to....
  19. Obrigado Sokol1! ;) Always the guy on all things hardware! :)
  20. Sorry... can't understand a single thing about this? What is this to be used with? Any Joystick controller? Some specific one?
  21. We could argue about the paid module back and forth. But the only thing I'll add as my opinion, is that some features such as radio comms should be in the base DCS world, not on a payed updade. All the other features... fair enough. I am curious how his is going to play out in MP. People who don't have the module, won't spawn on the carrier, easy enough I supose. But what about landing? They won't get comms...Ok... what if they decide to go rogue? Explode on impact? Wire will allways fail to arrest their aircraft?
  22. Have you made sure the axis is assigned?
  23. I gess I should check the wires again, thanks for the input Ranger.
