Yes you will change the ratio of input in the AB region, but you are not spliti8ng the axis into two lines, because spliting the axis into two lines works at the level of taking input data from your joystick and scaling it. this is a diferent aproach to a similar (albeit easier to control) Result.
-
I'm gessing it's a design decision. Bigger trees cover more space visualy. Smaller trees would look sparce and increasing density of smaller trees would harm performance.
-
No Falcon does not split the axis in two straight lines, it mearly changes the value at wich the afterburner engages. Lets say for sake ex. that default DCS is 80% but for your hardware specifically you need to change it to be at 85%. This could pherhaps be put in each module special options. It's a configurable value change, that's all we are asking. DCS or each module (not sure how it actually works) have to have set a value percentage of your axis at wich you go from MIL to AB, all we want is that value to be able to be set by the user.
-
Maybe someday... and yes we all know about adjusting the curves, but that's not what we are asking for.
-
If you are using target you Will indeed have to leave out (or program on some other way) One of your Axis. But I don't think you Will have to use target at all. In DCS under Axis you should have options for both relative and absolute Axis to bind INTO view Control.

On another Note are you around Debolestis? I see you haven't posted in a couple of months and I'm wondering if this is still the best way to get in touch with you. I had a request for a couple of custom parts as well as some question regarding a couple of your already avaiable parts. -

Just thought that people in this thread may have interest in the information I posted on this one: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3736920#post3736920 -
First of I would like to apologize to the comunity because I have had this information for a very long time, a few years in fact. The reason why I didn't put this information out there sooner is because I tried to do it in video but my video editing skills aren't quite up to the task. Also I belived other people would be aware of this fact and that more people would eventually be made aware of this. But still in 2018 I see most don't seem to know this at all. So here we go, but not without a disclaimer first. This makes use of thrustmaster calibration tools. You can only get this tools offitialy if thrustmaster suport sends them to you to help with some hardware problem. However you can get them right here on ED Foruns, in this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=65901 The Disclaimer part is that I belive this tools work by flashing the firmware on your Joystick and Throttle respectively. And that may come at a risk, I don't know. I don't know how many times this can be done safely, will it always be safe. I just don't know. So if you decide to try this, you do it at your own risk and responsability. So as to the trick it self and what does it intend to do: As you know the warthog two throttle axis resister no input aft of the idle cutoff position. Making many people belive this is the end of the physical axis and that you cannot get any input aft of this point. Well this is actually not so. The #29 and #30 DXinputs that work in this region of movement are actually programeed into the firmware, they are not physical switches, anyone who has opened the WH throttle unit has probably noticed this, and they will infact remain funcional even after using this trick. The only diference is that you can actually get axis range through the whole range of of physical movement of the throttles. What do you have to do to get it? Run the WH throttle calibration tool, and do everything it tells you to, right up to STEP #6, when it tells you to move your "Dual Throttle" to the idle position - DON'T. Keep them on the OFF position. Finish calibration and now you will have full use of your whole AXIS range of motion. To restore default funtionality, just run the tool again and follow the instructions correctly this time around. Now some of you may ask why would you need this. Well in some sims it will work very well out of the box. Falcon BMS is one of them, or an airliner sim where you have the reverse throttles engaged in such a way. Other than that comunity members like Debolestis https://www.shapeways.com/shops/debolestis are 3D printing custom parts to replace your throttles detent piece. Some of this parts can give you a smoth travel trough the entire physical range of the axis, usefull for WW2 birds, or to have a detent at the physical middle of travel (Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, etc). The possibilities are great. Anyway, just wanted to make people aware of this, what you do with it is up to you.

In search of Microsoft Sidewinder
lxsapper replied to ebabil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The going rate for online sales for them over here is usually around 30-35 euros. I bought 5 of them (traded one with a friend). Two of them cost me a mere 15 euros each! Unfortunaly I'm not parting with any of them, they are going to be used to do a PeterP kind of setup (been holding off on it for years) and the extras are reserve if anything goes wrong or I get a malfunction with use over time. But a quick online search did reveal two one asking €30 the other €90, I gess some people still know what they actually have sitting at home. -
This has been discussed before. Yes the head position is way forward in the A-10, if you look down you'll see your head position is about above your knees, it has mostly to do with being able to read the whole hud without having to move your head about (like real pilots have to), wich is a bit impractical even with trackIR (I've tried it). But since you are on VR it's probably not a problem. You can edit the default Head Position in a couple of ways, eighter by saving it to where you like, of a manual edit of the file that stores those numbers. There's a thread about it somewhere.

you don't need that pop up to install your modules go through the list, you will see some modules have "purchase on them" others will say "install".

Thank you this finally resolved the issue!

Having the same issue and none of the solutions posted here is working for me. I updated the updater with the one from updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com and it downloads and updates fine until about 4 or 5 Gbs are remaining, and then I get the same error as the OP. Runing the update again aparently resumes the download but it gives the same error after a few seconds. I tryed closing the antivirus, the command line solution. Nothing works. Running windows 7 64 by the way.

I have a GTX 680 like the OP, updated drivers but no DSR options. Also on Nvidia page it states that compatible GPU's are the 970 e 980 families, how in the world do I get this working on my 680?

Full Start up, but usualy ignore things that you wouldn't in real life, like checking gauges, cockpit lights etc.

Awesome work!

Ok Like promissed here is my implementation so far: This was my desk originaly, it's missing a satelite "stand" for a printer that I attached on top of it after modifying the desk Here is the desk how it stands prensently exept that I have not yet painted it. This is how I use it for general computing and gaming. Basicaly What I did to it was to shorten it. Added the satelite Block on top of it, cut the a square on the table top, and moved the sliding keyboard tray up to just bellow the table top. Also added another shelf on the bottom, ussing one shelf for holding my rudder peddals and the lower one (not visible) for cable management. I'm using a 32'' FullHD TV for main display, and a 21'' Touch monitor for secondary. For Flight Siming it's still a work in progress and some of the things shown here are not yet built or built in a "prototype" form to help me figure the dimentions for the definate versions. So far the keyboard tray gets removed and the keyboard moved to the side. This was part of my original design as it was meant to be used with the long center stick. But I'm still figuring a better solution for the keyboard. The Seating arangement is not yet built and it will be redesign before I do. But it will include the atachment for the central stick. At present I built a prototipe stand for the central stick that helped me figure the exact position I need it. And I'm using it with a non wheeled office chair similar to the one on the previous picture. The throttle stand is also not yet built, currently I use a make do solution with another chair to stand the throttle on, by my left side. The center of the 32'' TV is roughly at level height with my eyes so, it's just perfect for me. The whole thing is very much exactly what I wanted, wich is an ergonomy similar to a fighter cockpit with a big main screen and a long center mounted stick. And it all reverts back (after taking the seating and atachments away) to a regular looking desk.

I'll try to post later the solution I'm coming up with, already partially implemented.

Actually this behavior is changeble. Though there's no reason you would want to for DCS. It might be usefull for BMS, or to set a reverser range for FSX with FSUIPC. You need to change de device hardware calibration with TM calibration tool for the throttle though, and in one of the steps where it asks you to move the throttle to idle you should keep it in the OFF position. After that you will have axis response in the aft Idle range. To reverse it you just have to use the Calibration tool again and this time follow the instructions. I don't know if there's a problem with using the calibration tool repeatedly since as far as I can tell it flashes the hardware itseld, and your new calibration will keep itself over to another PC you might connect your warthog to.

Ars Technica reviews the TM Warthog
lxsapper replied to SDsc0rch's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
TARGET GUI is not very good at all IMO. In fact TARGET has a major drawback, wich is to combine all controllers in a virtual controller. Who ever thought that was a good idea deserves a punch it's only usefull for extremely outdated simulators that only about 1% of the already small flight sim comunity still flyes. As for TARGET GUI (I use it and create all my profiles by the way) there's tons of small little things that would improve the workload that you simply can't do. For example: You've just created a functions for a button, then you decide you want it in another button that's not yet programed. Well you CAN'T DO IT! while You can copy paste the function fine to a button that's allready on the programed list. You can't do it for one thta's not. That's just a tiny example but there's tons of things they could have done better. Sill my main gripe with TARGET still is, and allways will be the fact that you can only have that one virtual controller period. As for this guys review, I'm going to read it now... -
Hum not sure how that is even possible. Is it recognized and listed in windows controllers lists? Do they show up DCS controlers lists?

Need help with TM warthog script
lxsapper replied to hreich's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You're welcome to try this profile that I just uploaded https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/900691/ -
I got a request to share my A-10C profile as it allows to Control TrackIR and has a TeamSpeak PTT included. So I decided to Upload it to the users Files. It's only partially a TARGET profile and a .diff.lua is included as I tried to maintain as many buttons as DX as possible and necessary (speacially those that require long or continuous presses), to avoid function conflicts. I added a little extra when TrackIR is paused. I included an instructions readme. So if any have interest in cheking it out here is the link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/900691/ I'll also wellcome any feedback you wish to contribute.

I have one I did but it's from before ED fixed the FD bars behavior. But the rest shouldn't vary too much.
