Need help with TM warthog script
lxsapper replied to hreich's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
As mentioned before in other treads. There are several reasons to do this. The main on for me is the ability to center and Pause TrackIR with my HOTAS ,also to use TS3, but that can be done easely without TARGET as TS is definatly better designed than TrackIR software. -
Details? You're talking about wheel brakes right? Have you checked your assignments?
-
They only show once you get within guiding distance and position from the ILS station. Also make sure you have tunned the correct ILS frequency.

Detecting new keys while holding down others
lxsapper replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
NO there is no way arround this for DCS or any other game. You might get a "SPACE" and a "B" recognized at the same time, in fact you can have quite a few keys recognized at the same time. But once you start adding modifier keys like Ctrl, Alt, Shift, etc, how is your PC to know if you are holding "Ctrl+b" and "Space" or "b" and "Ctrl+Space"?. The way I do it in TARGET software fo my Warthog (I use TARGET for the A-10C to give me extra functionality like trackir commands and TS3 PTT), is I carefully consider wich functions need to be held and wich are momentary and leave all that need to be held and DX buttons and program those inside DCS to the functions I want. This requires some thought as the Warthog is 2 controllers that are merged into one by TARGET and you go down from 64 DX buttons to 32. -
Thought we were talking about combat. Who cares about perfect level turns when dogfighting? I could perfectly be banked over 85º or even 90º and still making a 6G turn.
-
The FoV on that Lockon setup is ridiculously narrow. From looking at that photo locks like the projection FoV must be higher than 120º or maybe even close to 180º to whoever is sitting in the playseat. Yet It's probably set to about 50º or so in game.

Or in other words: The problem is not how much you rolled the airplane, it's how much you are pulling the stick. Solution: Pull it less.

Very nice! Congratz!

I confirm. Had this problem on and off. I've been using the Mig-21 so I thought it was fishbed related but now I gess it's something that got broken yet again in the DCS engine.

Agree with the requests made so far, particulary the flaps and airbrakes. Would like to add that the Throttle off/idle needs a two position command not just toggle (it's actually sort of wierd that LD with their mostly no Toggle aproach left this as tottle only or Inc./dec. in case of the flaps).
-
Actually this is not correct. If you move your camera you will see what part of the throttle lever is hiting it's max range of motion (by the white metal on the side).
-
Great news, hope you can distribute the fix soon.
-
Confirmed broken with MSFF2 as well. High Freq. Vibration as soon as 3d world loads and remains until exit. Also total absence of stick forces.
-
Ah just like I imagined it! Thanks Kuki! Wish I had the dough to fork out. But someday those things will be a lot cheaper. Shame about those pixels. Over here most places have a return if not satisfied policy that I would be sure to take advantage of if that happened to me.
-
Cool let us know how you find it.
-
Well I can turn and look directly behind me without bearly twisting my back. If I use my back I can see toward my 4-5 O'clock when turning left. So I don't forsee as it beeing a problem. But even if you can't turn that well, you are refering to a potential disadvantage the oculus may give you compared to TIR and forgeting the advantages, chiefly the gain in spatial orientation.

Please help a noob take advantage of the sale
lxsapper replied to Cavemanhead's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Just one final note, If you do buy through steam you can use your steam key with the non-steam version as well. The oposite used to be true but it is not anymore. So if you buy outside of steam you have cannot decide you want to activate those keys on steam. Said like that it may apear that it's a better idea to buy on steam even if you want to install the non-steam version in the end. So as to allow you to change your mind latter. But the thing is, the sales that they sometimes have on steam for DCS products, are not nearly as good as the sales on ED's online store. So you have to weight that. -
TrackIR double bind problem

That's how some people have done it. -
Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS compatibility/thoughts?
lxsapper replied to Archer7's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The Padde lever at the front isn't actually the disconnect lever. But I use Mine as such. It's actually on the F-16C (called paddle Switch) and not present in the A-10C. The Other Button I think you mean the one just behind it. On the A-10C it's the NWS (Nose wheel Steering) Button. It engages and disengages NWS on the ground. But in the Air it works to manualy fire the TGP Laser. And as A/A refuling disconnect button (you actually have to press it to reconnect if you accidently disconnect and get the Disconnet light on the side brow). -
Or keep it and build a Collective with it... Pleanty of HATs two axis for collective and throttle! :)

Warthog key mapping question
lxsapper replied to REDEYE_CVW-66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The reason for this is that there is no DX button on the off position of the switch. So the command eighter in TARGET or through the LUA files is to generate a command for when the EAC witch is disengaed from the ARM position and not when it goes into the OFF position. Hope that makes sence. Basically it means all 2 position switches only see the forward/up position (there is actually no physical wiring to the down/aft position). And all 3 position switched only have full Fwd, and Full aft. The middle position not beeing wired. If you still don't understand go to the controll panel and start flicking switched on the device properties window and you will soon see what I mean. -
TrackIR double bind problem
lxsapper replied to Corrigan's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No, bad design of trackIR software (even TeamSpeak diferentiates DX buttons from diferent devices). This is the sole reason I started using TARGET. -
Maybe he can sell one of the sticks.
