If "keys" are what authorizes the game modules,then why do we need to download the other modules for DCS???Why don't they just include all aircraft in DCS world and "release" them as we purchase a key for that particular aircraft?Rather than having to download gig's of instalation files and taking up all the HD space, simply "authorize" them from within DCS world???
  2. Yes BUT...How functional and accurate are those fancy FCS systems gonna be after taking 2 or possibly 3 hits from ATGM's before it can return fire???
  3. Thermals can't see through hills.A flank shot in the turret ring at 2000-2500 metres will cause a bad day for any tank.True dat.
  4. The discussion is kinda pointless until we know what the time period of the engagements are or what the vehicle designations are..Is it an m1a2 tusk?...an HA,...a SEP? Are they using A1, A2 or A3 ammo??Are they frontal or flanking shots?... etc etc. And as far as the iraq argument...they had upgraded ERA T-72 tanks as well(not many mind you).The abrams cut through them like a hot knife through butter. ED has to get it straight in their heads what they want to accomplish and convey that to us,so as we know what to expect from this beta test.If they are going to live up to their reputation as sim creators,then IMO I'd say this is more like an ALPHA not a BETA.I hope they're not going to let this opportunity slip away to accomadate what ALOT of armor simmers are waiting for.Hell...even ARMA II has better simulation in armor than this,and it has no real FCS outta the box. I think most people's impression was that DCS wasn't meant in concept to be a flight sim per say.It just "Started" at that point cause it made sense as a start point.And I think alot of us are baseing our expectations on this idea.We want to feel like we're in a tank and right now it doesn't feel that way.Needs more developement and direction conveyed to its user base I think to avoid the negative impressions.
  5. 4 of us are trying to log in tonight and all 4 crash...we were flying saturday and sunday with some disconnects ,but atleast we got to log in,Blackshark 1111 is working fine though.Whats up with that?
  6. Would also be great if we could see the tracer round "lob" to target on sabots and heats.

  8. * Forests do not conceal ground forces and the AI begins shooting with missiles from T80s through them. Currently, there is no way to advance under concealment. Will forests be sight/missile blocker in future releases? AGREED!!! THIS TOTALY UNDERMINES THE COMBINED ARMS CONCEPT
  9. isometric views are porked on some vehicles,can't remember which ones as it was late when I noticed them.You get in the view and all you see is the 3d model as if your embedded in it/or just behind the pieces.You can't see anything in the enviorment.what exacly is the ismetric view purpose anyway?Also,some wierd things are happening in the blackshark cockpit when looking at certain places in the pit...it starts to wobble uncontrolably even though your not moving your head(kinda hard to explain really.but I,ve never seen anything like it before)It just "wigs out" at a certain spot(right window frame front and left down collective area.Also a request that when switching from 1st person view to external,it doesn't act as a toggle the external f7 is cycling (which its supposed to) but we need the same system as the other modules were it doesn't cycle until after you view yourself.In other words it sticks in cycle f7 even after you return to 1st person.Again hard to explain.I guess a dedicated SELF external view for ground units is needed same way the aircraft do it.Also ...can we get the missle view moved on the bradley to the OTHER side and FORWARD of the launcher as it obscures most of the front right side.Ya can't see shit with it like that. Just a suggestion...get a copy of steelbeasts pro for the office so the model/code builders can get an idea of what we need to see in our vehicles.Seems to me its a good resource. opps forgot to mention the the blackshark problem was with TrackIR on
  10. Now that were patched too 120,can we uninstal 1111 version? thats 14 gig of hard drive space.And if we can what happens when the next patch comes out...will it require a reinstall of 1111?

Aiming reticles need to scale properly with the magnifications...also the magnifications need to be adjusted to reflect their real world counterparts.We also need proper fire control systems for the tanks...we shouldn't have to take our eyes off the target to fire at practicle range tagets.ie 2500 -3500 metres.IMO..this is great to see but I'm also disapointed that they didn't take it a few steps further in its debue.The potential is enormous.The "It aint steel beast pro" song I think is just short sightedness.This could potentialy out shine SBpro if done properly.I mean if they can pull off as complicated fire control system like the A10C ...then tanks should be a breeze.I mean we don't "need" fancy 3d cockpits in the vehicles.A well done 2d pit emulating what a gunner or commander sees in front of his/her face will do,m1a1 tank platoon for example.If they could give us THAT fidelity then this would take off like a rocket.SAM's???...well maybe thats another story as I'm sure that would be a task.I just pray the the armour gods that a 3rd party dev reads this and jumps on the band wagon as they'd make a killing I'm sure.Oh and one last thing...terrain needs more hull down areas and smoothing.
  12. What does the c key do? cruise control. When I press it it just shuts down the tank?
  13. Fixed the problem...what I had to do was uninstall everything,clean regestry...reinstal.TrackIR included.Dunno what the problem was but all works fine now.

Before I do that I'm gonna compare notes with another tr user.What I also noticed by comparing the two instals is that in the control column for TR in version 1111...TR shows under ALL.In 1.2.0...it doesn't,its blank.Only in the axis command column does tr show up,its not listed under "ALL" as in version 1111.Its different.
  15. tried that too...and these keys were always being used in DCS,even in the other versions installed.Its just not getting recognized in this build.For example...default in TrackIR is F7 F8 F9...they worked fine in the previous build for DCS world.Now they don't.
  16. If I think what your saying is the desktop is "bleeding" through the game interface???Then try this...UNCHECK "disable areo desktop" in the options.It stopped it for me...if thats what your saying in the problem?
  17. I had done that already.I'm using the latest TrackIR software and drivers as well.It just doesn't recognize the input buttons set for TrackIR.And As I said before all other installs work as they should.

First off,I have A-10C and BlackShark 1111 installed as well as 1.2.0,and track IR works as it should in those versions.DCS world 1.2.0 however doesn't recoginise the function buttons in trIR...ie...pause/centre/profile/Precision.It does however track headmovements.Problem is though,how do I re-centre if the buttons don't work?The DCS world previous to this build work as it should.What happened?Is there a fix for this? I seem to remember something needed to be deleted in a folder in older versions of the game to get trackIR working,but can't find what it was??

  20. No no no...this is in air to ground mode.

I tried using the padlock in A-10C...and thought it was a new feature (never used it before) so I figured it might be "new" in Su-25t so I went in to try it.Crashed every time.I repeated it a number of times with same result.heres what I did...Switched to ground mode and called up weapon.Padlocked ground units in front of me,instant crash.This was in instant action btw. EDIT:Same thing happens in multiplayer.

Is there anyway we can get this to work with the Mig-29K,Mig-29ub,Seems every time I try to apply this mod with those other aircraft active it locks the game to the point where you can't launch it and have to reinstall.What we really need is a complete mig pack with all the migs working together and not conflicting.I simply wish we didn't have to choose one over the other.If anyone has managed to repack these migs for modman without any conflicts...please post it or how it was done:thumbup:,I don't think I'm the only miglover that would want this to happen.
  25. That worked;)...Now the question is ...why did it not install properly via Modman???What would cause that particular file NOT to be placed in the shapes folder???:huh:
