This on wiki: R-27R and ER variants can be used in any meteorological conditions. Launch can made at less than 5 g overload and less 50 deg/s roll rate.[3] It is allowed to redesignate targets during flight, or sharing target illumination with other aircraft. Regarding the ka50 ,the context was target info sharing and designation

well I was thinking more AWACS really....but any data should apply as far as the launch aircraft KNOWING where the target is ,and then sending that data to the missile. Which is what I believe this guy is saying...I think. And even if he is wrong I still wonder why the Russian systems don't take advantage of this data for a "pre intercept" track to gain advantage on said intercept. I mean doesn't the blackshark do something similar??
 -
Theres no problem...except that this guys says different...and makes sense given that the launch aircraft has SA on the target via data link and hands it over to the guidance system onboard the missile for loal launch...so who's right?? You or him. Cause your both on different tracks in a big way. I simply don't know who to believe.
 -
what I mean is...he says the missile gets target info based on data either from the data link...or radar. And in the case of data link (described as mathematical targets)...the missile is capable of flying towards the target based on that data alone , therefore can be locked onto target AFTER launch. Which makes sense IF the aircraft utilizes the data link data for targeting...which you say it doesn't ...is what I'm getting at, and that makes me wonder why it doesn't.It would make sense as a silent launch or surprise attack for BVR.
 -
So its not broadcasting data link data to the missile then?(makes me wonder why that is since the launch aircraft knows where the target is) I wonder why this guy says what he says then...it puts his statements in the "extremely wrong" category...providing he is wrong of course.

On a side note...I found this on a thread as listed above by Fri13: The SARH models of the R-27 do have inertial navigation to fly toward what the Soviets describe as mathematical targets till the launch aircraft paints the target and the missile homes on the reflected energy. That means they are lock on after launch and fly towards a point in the sky where the target is calculated to be when the missile gets there. The IR models don't have INS systems and require lock on before launch. The inertial guidance period of the R-27R and ER is described as being up to 60% of its flight trajectory. (Note for the R-24R that figure is given as 20%). The R-77 is 80% and has Lock on after launch capability. My question is how are they launching missiles without radar lock???What mode?
 -
Ahh...I did not know that...then is this missile mod locked to 1985 data as well?? Valid question I think.
 -
But my question isn't can it carry R-77 active...but rather can it carry R-27EA active? Which is already of the R-27 family...
 -
What exactly is being said here??? That they employ 2 missiles to do one job...One radio missile and one IR missile? Or that the missile has two different modes of intercept? Radio guided then IR taking over... Or IR guided with a final burst of radar emission from the head to detonate in close proximity...Or Radio command guided with a final burst of radar emission from the head to detonate in close proximity?? Which also begs the question "Where does the R-27EA come into this?" Why no active radar missiles on the Su27's?

X-55 rhino users update for ghosting buttons Just an update on this issue that users with this problem maybe interested in.I just got off the phone with tech support, and they infored me that the Fix mentioned in this forum of adding an external 'Powered' usb hub to solve ghosting issues was NOT repeat NOT something they knew about or were aware of (as of today).Hopefully this brings us to a proper fix from saitek in the near future.

How are we supposed to taxi in and out of hangers if we can't see our wings?????Or around anything for that matter...
 -
Mig 29 has no wings or tail in view This realistic?? Is the pilot to far forward to see the wings?

PADI certified here. most memorable dives...hmmm Wall diving off the coast of Victoria Island British Columbia,Beautiful.First checkout dive for Cert down around 60 ft...panicked...damned near drowned.I lived tho, heheh. Scallop diving for Scallop with shells the size of dinner plates on the east coast of Nova Scotia(fried them up with garlic and pepper for the girlfriend...she was very gratefull I recall...not sure which was better that or the dive??) Thinking a SunFish was a Great white shark in Peggy's Cove Nova Scotia (wanna see a diver fly??Don't think I touched the side of the zodiac...when you see a big grey fin pop outta the water ya don't ask questions! felt very silly afterwards, but we laughed our asses off, went back and petted him or her on the nose and looked it the eye) Also did a moonlight night dive there as well where I just sat on the bottom and watched the fish swim by...very cool. Discovering a tunnel like rock formation again on the east coast Nova Scotia. Called it the "Church Isle" cause it looked like being in a cathedral. Cavern diving in Florida, the water was like air you almost wanted to breath it...met a Russian Cave diver who had paid for his trip with titanium D rings. He was with the US caveing Team and when you looked at them in contrast It was really kinda funny. The US team all had spiffy new high tech stuff while the russian looked like he just crawled outta the 60's. My deepest dive to 120 feet for a wreck...dark...cold...loved it. Ahhhh...memories...I feel like I need to get wet.

	Is that what thirdwire did?
 -
There's an f-4 in the game already, all it needs is a cockpit...whats the problem? Thirdwire did it.

ground crew not acknowledging loadout change
Raven434th replied to Raven434th's topic in Multiplayer Issues
My own mission ,friendly airport...it DOES reload though...just don't get that "confirmation COPY" we used to get. Which is important as it told you if you where able to reload or not depending on the situation your aircraft was in.Was it taken out? I was in a Su-27 btw, using latest patch. -
Ground crew doesn't acknowledge load out change requests anymore on ramp??

ECM INDICATOR LIGHTS,Where are they???.Nothing lights up when pressing the ECM key. edit ...never mind...I found them.(didn't have the pods on in instant action.)
 -
NO..It completely disappears at about 10:30 11 o'clock ,no circle what so ever. EDIT...I figured it out...if you have "show mini hud" enabled ...it causes the problem.
 -
At what point in our field of view is the HMS circle supposed to remain in view? As it is now it disappears around where the cockpit frame ends...are we not supposed to be able to target something at say our 9 to 10 o'clock??

Between Esim and Ed??...don't think its needed...and to be honest I'd rather they didn't as it might kick Esim in the ass to start supporting and improving their product to suit their "lesser priority" customers more. Competition is a mighty incentive.

	God I hope your right
 -
I edited my post to reflect that as well.

I have no doubt that ED can implement Armor to a high degree of realism...judging by the A10C...my worry would be that they can do it with a terrain to match. Cause if you can't do the terrain right ...you haven't got Sh@#. Having said that a "micro terrain" is concerning as well. Imagine the potential frame rate hit that might be.
 -
That's probably because they do not need the help...they have gone straight to the horse...general dynamics(in regards to an M1a2)...as for a Russian tanks...who can say.Same for other MBTs.
