unfortunately by doing this my progress in my campaign is lost and that was my benchmark for my previous post...I even copied the missions folder back into the new save folder ...what files do I copy to regain that progress save so I can continue the test comparison? edit Oh wait...my mistake...I see I don't have to do the whole save folder reset....will try again

I will do this and report back...I also noticed that there are no meta shader files in the folder(I had cleaned out both fxo and meta upon patching) but I assumed a "fresh" meta file set would appear...would I be correct in thinking this?
-
I've noticed this also...drops for no foreseeable reason. frames are better than previous patch but are not stable...example...takeoff at 30fps...landing and 20 fps at same airport in same direction. Why a 10 fps difference? Cruising along at altitude it jumps from mid 20s to 40's.What would cause such a difference?

This just happened to me when jumping into wingman AC in instant action. Throttle to zero...still in AB in external view

Choppy Trackir View with Vsync off on 60hz monitor
Raven434th replied to Ram69's topic in Game Performance Bugs
My suspicion is it has to do with how and how fast the data on the drive is being accessed that's causing stutter. In my case on an HDD I always have to defrag and optimize the installation folder or it stutters...I also noticed if I switch to maps/missions that I don't normally use...it stutters...then I defrag and optimize then the stutter goes away. How this may apply to a SSD I do not know. Keep in mind this is all speculation and something entirely different may be going on, it's just what I perceive to be the cause. Again I use track IR on a 22 inch monitor@60hz and get smooth game play at anything above 24 fps...when it drops below 24 (and It does a lot of the time) ,is when I see the slow down(not to be confused with Stutter) -
Choppy Trackir View with Vsync off on 60hz monitor

I use trackIR as well, Are you using an SSD or HDD?? if HDD try optimize defragging your DCS folder ,I do this with every patch and it gets me smooth no stutter game play(this does NOT however fix FPS issues, that's a different animal.) -
Performance (FPS) loss from 2.7.6 to 2.7.7
Raven434th replied to Limaro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Just for shitsngiggles, I went in IL-2 and turned on 4k textures(thinking that this may be the problem with DCS of maybe increasing textures and me not knowing it)...and to my surprise it made no difference. Solid (external view) 60 fps (50 in the pit)with AA on. So I just don't get it why I can get twice the performance with twice the eye candy turned on. What makes il-2 so performance friendly on my older system compared to DCS?? -

Performance (FPS) loss from 2.7.6 to 2.7.7
Raven434th replied to Limaro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Gotta admit I thought the same thing...kinda can't help but think it ...but I also have a nagging feeling that this isn't the case because I have a hard time thinking Wag's wouldn't see these threads as well and make sure it got addressed. I'm HOPEING it's a "gonna give em' a great Christmas present" kinda thing and they don't wanna spoil it..........I'll be pretty pissed though if come Christmas I'm still running below 30 FPS. my wallet will close if that happens. Going from DCS at 20-30 fps and looking horrible to 60 plus fps and looking beautiful in iL-2 is taking it's toll. -
Performance (FPS) loss from 2.7.6 to 2.7.7
Raven434th replied to Limaro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
And at the VERY least tell us so if they in fact have given up OR if not, tell us what they think will solve it down the road... -
Has anyone tried running DCS on a rysen 7 5700G APU??

Performance (FPS) loss from 2.7.6 to 2.7.7
Raven434th replied to Limaro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I would like to know this as well -
I think they should simply go for "conflict appropriate" aircraft with emphasis on the most notable conflicts.
-
Anything that a dev would ask himself in context to the problem....
-
I find it kinda strange that no dev's have asked any questions in this thread??...not one.
-
I'm not really convinced its a "yer puter got no umph" thing...I just went in and flew A flight sim that begins with i...and ends with a 2... on high settings WITH AA on compared to DCS with high and low with NO AA and its the other guy with constant 60(with vsinc for 60hz) and DCS its 30ish or lower.
-
hey WHY can they not just roll back to 276 graphics and add the aircraft fixes in and say "yeah we know there's an issue with 277 but we can't figure it out so here's an interm fix" doesn't seem to me as an unreasonable solution. AND I'd like to know if this isn't something WE can do ourselves??
-
Or to put it simply...they introduced a feature/code/enhancement that took a system that ran 50 fps to a 30 fps...however way you cut it it was THEY who caused the issue, not us...and I expect them to fix it on their end and not me having to go out and spend another (and I've done this twice now) large sum of money to run the same way I ran years ago on the same modules purchased.
-
worse for low end
-
now that its been more or less "verified"...It must also be said that the the % of performance loss is relevant to the system specs...its NOT just a 10-15 %..its much more. In these last so called updates I've gone from 50 fps in the cockpit to 30(jet) and 40 to 25 in helo's. That's more than 10-15%.
-
Seems to me the solution is simply roll out a patch with 2..76 graphic settings/code and 2.77 aircraft fixes....am I wrong here???
-
I was flying around in the blackshark 30-32 fps for about 30 mins testing an over clock...turned on the targeting system and dropped to 7..and stayed there.... just to be clear I have NEVER overclocked a gpu ever in the 20 plus years flying ED products...until this last 2 patches
-
I was getting 35-40 BEFOE the patch on WIN 11 with my system...its not win11...its the patch that caused the loss in FPS
-
runs better IMO...that was the point of upgrading to win 11...they (the internet) were reporting an increase in performance for OLDER systems...but what they didn't take into account apparently was the NEW systems having issues. They have fixed that from what I've heard though. On a side note...that I can run the blackshark on medium and high settings and get 35-40 fps at tree top level(pre patch 2.7.7.14727) is a testimonial to the 8350
-
BUT...you also have to account for the fact ED is "pushing" our modules out of the parameters compared to when we bought them. I have modules that were bought years before my gpu even existed.
