  1. Copy that, good luck with the recruitment and the team.
  2. ...against a very strong current up a stream...merily merily... Pougatchev and Cali, We have always released our mods (and models) to the public, in fact we recommend it to fly on our Phantom server. We just don't release the current models we use for the current year's training and live shows. Last year's mod is available on our website, if you cared to look before winging about not getting this lovely new 3d model. And here is the link: http://www.virtualredarrows.com/register-to-receive-free-mods So back on topic...the reason for the post is to show off the huge amount of work and dedication that went into making the model by Crow and what it looks like in an awesome flight simulator.
  3. Errrm Maverick, have you checked with Crow on this as the VFJ was part of the VRA recruitment process??
  4. Our 2011 refurbishment programme for our jets is underway... (not for public release, sorry)
  5. Whether these tools are outdated or not, the point remains that ED are still supporting the modding community, even when the team that put the tools together many years ago have left. I'm sure a lot of us have been asking for these tools for a long time to get custom cockpits into FC2 with full functionality, my team and I are very grateful.
  6. There is a Viper mod that salutes I saw in a video today. You need the original 3dMax file to be able to do it, of which you can't do with the stock models.
  7. yes, as an example: Kabina-F-15.cmd
  8. Haha yeah Trig, that's what I meant ;)
  9. Crow managed to find 3.1 last night I think, earliest I have in my collection is 7. No problem Olgerd, I'm sure the modders can figure something out. At least it stops all the hacks of the code to get cockpits working which will be neater.
  10. Many thanks to the ED team for these, I can see some really great cockpits coming out for release soon!!
  11. I can fly DCS:A-10C in very close formation and shoot off some missile or drop some bombs if you want. Like Beaker said, hit me up on PM Also I have full fraps registered. British voice, but hey, we all have pilot exchanges right ;)
  12. The Virtual Red Arrows would like to thank all the staff at Airplane Geeks for their invitation to be a part of this week's aviation podcast. A special thank you to Pieter Johnson for giving us this opportunity and for his very kind compliments on our display routine. This is what Pieter had to say on their website... "The Virtual Red Arrows I watched the nine Hawks in close formation and I was riveted to my screen as they pulled into the turn and then burst apart, each jet screaming across the airfield............. Then I came to my senses and another thought entered my mind; "What am I doing here sitting in my lounge at home watching a virtual air display..... Well the answer was easy, I was totally transfixed by the flying skills of the pilots flying for the Virtual Red Arrows, a formation flying team with one real difference.... It all happens in the Internet somewhere instead of above our heads at an airshow. Committed to find out more, this week's Across The Pond on the Airplane Geeks podcast is an interview with Red 1 (or Petter Hovland as he is known in the real world). Find out how they train, what the challenges are and how nine pilots manage to fly such perfect formations. I know you are probably thinking, this is not real, but trust me these guys are good and if you watch one of their displays, you will share my enthusiasm for Flight Simulation on this scale. This is really 'seeing is believing' stuff and whether you like it or not, you simply have to admire the skill, precision and quality of the performance. Break Right.......Smoke On............ Roger Out!" You can find the Virtual Red Arrows on Twitter and at http://www.VirtualRedArrows.com By the way the website is one of the best aviation websites around. Here is a link to the website: http://alphatangopapa.blogspot.com/2011/06/virtual-red-arrows.html And a direct link to the podcast: http://www.virtualredarrows.com/ells/Airplane_Geeks_-_Episode_153_-_Sun_N_Fun_Radio.mp3 Thanks, RED8|Ells
  13. The afterurner can be placed anyway by modeling your own in the 3dmax file and assigning the textures to it. Or do you mean the heat blur?
  14. Your wish, is our command.... Hud messed up due to model scaling, will be fixed though.
  15. Hey Zoom and welcome to the community. We all help out here, so just ask away at any questions, or try the search function first but sometimes therer are multiple threads all asking the same stuff and can be daunting. Best way to start like the guys said is the training misisons and flight manual and then multiplayer. If you want some coaching, I have a basic training mission that I fly with my team mates on and you're welcome to join us (UK time though), just hit me up on private message. Good luck, and don't give up, it's worth it, trust me!!!
  16. It's still being researched by a few mod teams Peyvolt and somewhat restricted.
  17. I haven't tried it, but Tomcatz ground crew mod may work with A10. Just hazarding a guess and like I said haven't tried it.
  18. Hi Guys, On Wednesday of this week I was invited to talk live on SkyHigh radio about the Virtual Red Arrows following the FSC event we attended in Weston-Super-Mare last month. You can listen to the interview (or download) here http://www.virtualredarrows.com/home/1-vra/89-shr-interview-replay Hopefully this gives you some information about the team and what we do. Thanks, Ells.
  19. Hey, Well short answer is, this is on hold at the moment. There is no feasible way to do vtol in FC2. At the moment we are concentrating on the Typhoon projects but I'll pist up any news about the Harrier when we pick it up again. Thanks, Chris.
  20. haha I was joking Loz. I didn't really get a chance to fly any other sims as was busy for the 3 days, but there was some great stuff there. Will def go again next year.
  21. Thanks buddy, I had to get into "the zone" quickly with all the distractions. I was amazed at thed Hind too and the smell of oil on the gun and rocket pods gave me a real "OMFG" moment. Glad you enjoyed it Loz, did you come over and have a go? Virtual Sparrows, why I oughta.......
  22. Screenshot attached showing where to do it. Open up the MP mission in the editor. Select one of the MP planes, either by zooming in on the airfield they start from, or from the Unit Selector list icon on the left. Change the Skill drop down form Client to Player. Re-save the mission, then go fly it. Make sure you change an existing plane as this will give you all the waypoints, etc. Any questions, just ask.
  23. Thanks Spitfire, I updated the mission and added a few things for multiplayer and posted up as an intelligence gathering mission. VRA Rustavi Pipeline. Again great mission and idea, and try out the VRA team race one, that is a blast with 4 aircraft all starting same time and racing to get in the air and down the course lol
  24. Rustavi Pipeline Multiplayer 4 ship The Russians are building an oil pipeline along the Zavodsky Rustavi river. Our satellites have picked up a new technology jamming source in the area which is distorting our images. This intel is vital to our operations in the area and you have been tasked with gathering it. Your mission is to fly reconnaissance along the pipeline route recording the route and any enemy defences with your TGP pod and Radar Warning Receiver so ensure both are switched on. The Russians have installed markers along the route of where the pipeline will be laid, follow these markers. Waypoints have been entered into your TAD to guide you along the route but the jamming signal made the placement of them inaccurate to the pipeline actual location so stick to the river. There are heavy ground to air defences along the route so do not deviate from the markers or river. Start recording at WP1. The last marker is in the town of Rustavi close to Vaziani airfield. If you are spotted, enemy fighters may be scrambled. Rules of engagement: If you are fired upon you can return fire. Do not attack through any towns or villages as collateral damage will not be acceptable. Your jets have been fitted with MK5 rockets and guns, use them wisely. Intel: ELINT suggests that the route is protected with AAA Located on hillsides, MANPADs believed on ridge tops and Multiple Tors in area so stay LOW and on course or you will be shot down! HUMINT has reported movements of ground troops and river patrols but their location at this time is unknown. It has been unconfirmed that a high altitude bombing practice range is also in the area. An E-2C AWACS (Overlord) is on station to provide early warning of any aircraft movements. This is a fast and low mission. Good luck pilots!! Thanks to Spitfire2170 for the original mission and concept. I'll be getting into triggers and coding to add some dimension to the mission and feel free to leave any comments for improvement. I've tested the mission pretty well, but again any issues report them back to me to fix. Cheers, Ells. VRA Rustavi Pipeline.miz
  25. Thanks for that Grimes, now we gotta work for it, is that what you're saying haha Also thanks Druid, I'll check it out
