  1. And here is a little tune RobinHood made of it, enjoy. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14096482/Partage%20divers/Twas%20the%20night%20before%20VFAT.mp3
  2. You're welcome Tyger. It's the least we could do for them and you guys. Also a little something to get us in VFAT mood: Twas the night before VFAT, when all through the house. Not a pilot was stiring, not even a mouse. The helmets were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that VFAT soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of aircraft flew in their heads. And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a diamond formation high in the air. With a young spritely driver, in a nice polished hat, I knew in a moment it must be VFAT. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name! As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky. So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With birds and clouds and the sun brightly too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard in the sky Those magnificent jets, all flying by. As I drew in my breath, and was turning around, I heard loud thunder, now what was that sound. A jet roaring past, you said, you know, Well it must be VFAT, on with the show! The sky filled with smoke, the jets in their might, Roaring from the ground, as they all take flight. He sprang to his jet, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. As I stood in awe, as they flew out of sight, "Happy VFAT to all, and to all a good-night!"
  3. Thanks Bengo and yes it's amazing how many great aerobatic pilots there are in the community.
  4. The VFAT Staff and over 100 virtual aerobatic pilots would like to invite you to the Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams 2011. The Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams or VFAT is a big international airshow like RIAT or MAKS and spectators will be able to watch the demonstrations flown LIVE through our VFAT TV. The pilots mostly simulate the displays of real aerobatic teams like the Patrouille Suisse, Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, Red Arrows, Russian Knights and Blue Impulse, however, many teams also create their own spectacular displays instead of simulating real life counterparts. Witness the result of another year of hard work by the pilots, simply for the enjoyment to the general public! ---------------------------------------- VFAT 2011 Dates: December 02/03/04 Watch LIVE here: http://www.virtual-airshows.com/english/vfat-tv-europe ---------------------------------------- The VFAT 2011 Performers: Team Performers: Virtual Blue Angels Virtual Blue Impulse Virtual Red Arrows Frecce Tricolori Virtuali Patrouille Suisse Virtuelle Advanced Precision Aerobatic Squadron Virtual Thunderbirds Virtual Patriots Jet Team Patrulla Aguila Virtual Rafale Tactical Display Patrulla Acrobatica Helibelula =RAF= "Virtual Sky Hussars" =RAF= "Virtual Russian Knights" Virtual Falcons Aerobatic Display Team The Jet-E-Sons Guard of Russia Virtual Aerobatic Team “Ghosts” Solo Performers: HDF 59th "Szentgyörgyi Dezső" Virtual Air Base Virtual European Air Operations Virtual Viper East Demo Team Virtual Solo Türk VAT "Berkuts" Mig-29 Solo Display EAV Alas Rotas L-39 Solo / Biele Albatrosy VAT Virtual F-16 Solo Display Team & Virtual Apache Solo Display Team Slovak Air Force 1st Sqn. display team Belgian F-16 Solo Display Team VFA-122 Super Hornet Demo Team "Virtual "Rhino" West" Flanker C Demo VFA-192 F/A-18C Demo Virtual F-15C West Coast Demonstration Team Hungarian Gripen Demo Team Polish Air Force MiG-29 Demo by APASQ Ukrainian Air Force - Virtual Su-27 display team 1 Sq. 5. Apologies for the delay in posting this, we had a few technical issues with the video rendering. The original video quality isn't the best so it has been rendered in 720p. TFC and the VRA had a stand at Les Mondial De La Simulation in Le Bourget, Paris back in early October to showcase LockOn. The first 5 minutes is the Virtual Red Arrows pilots showing off to the public some formation flying on the dome screen and then the remaining time is showing off the JTAC functions. 6. Lovely shots there Paul. How we like to do things on this side of the pond...
  7. Lovely shots there Paul. How we like to do things on this side of the pond...
  8. I don't think he knew that part Peter, but I had the same thought lol Sooooo back on topic, I think DCS:Frisbee would be great Look it's even got landing lights... And based on what Yo-Yo said about Nevada (read Area 51)...well, there you have it...
  9. Second star to the right and straight on till morning... DCS:Tinkerbel Fairy Dust or DCS: Peter Pan
  10. DCS:Atlantis Now I'd buy that in an instant ;) To flick a switch on my Warthog and watch the SRB sep in F4 view...ah man
  11. LMAO Frazer. Awesome promo guys, looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks.
  12. Well said Pete :)
  13. Everything TFC/ED has done has been done for a reason. I've always trusted that even before becoming a tester. Of course a TFC fixed wing will not be everyone's choice, but then a lot of people said that about the A-10 when it was released, but I wonder how many are flying it now.
  14. We at VEAO tried it and decided not to pursue it for a multitude of reasons, despite the many man hours of learning how to get her off the ground in VTOL would put most people off. Trying to control the thrust nozzle direction in the cockpit with your mouse whilst controlling throttle and stick would be a tad challenging lol
  15. Bear in mind you have to use a lot of graphical processing power to do that. Looking at terrain will use the 3d rendering engine and 2d map view obviously not. To then move objects around in "real time" would then take a lot more processing power to carry out all the calculations for collision model of the object, ground mesh model, etc.
  16. Digital, as in "not real world" We live in a digital age, or so my iPhone keeps telling me lol
  17. I agree and disagree. I did a lot of modding back in the day in Battlefield Vietnam and BF2 which both had great editors but the 3d version I found was actually harder to place objects than a top down 2d one. Granted you could see the terrain to place your objects on, but simarly the opposition could just fire up ME and use it as a tool for terrain masking their attacks. Food for thought.
  18. And think about how much a prop would show up on radar and any IR missiles would surely hit the jets more than me when they light their cans?? Give me a Spitfire to fly, over a Typhoon any day. I love Tiffy but there is something about hearing a prop fire up that warms the heart. Disclaimer: Anything I've written has nothing to do with anything. These aren't the planes you're looking for. You can go on your way. Move along... F18....pah, everyone knows it's an SR71 cause I saw one at Duxford, mind you I also saw Concorde there too along with quite a few others jets. I do love the speculation game you guys play with each other :)
  19. Cheers buddy. Here's the replay in case you missed it. http://www.livestream.com/vfat/video?clipId=pla_abb57597-7720-4080-b72f-58ee435a3b91
  20. WATCH LIVE AT: http://www.livestream.com/vfat Hello aviation fans, We have been very busy over the Summer in preparation for the Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams on the 2nd 3rd and 4th December 2011. We are always excited about this event and would like to extend our thanks to all of the VFAT staff who dedicate countless event hours to make VFAT a huge online success each and every year. As we build up to our main live performance, each team participating at the event are required to provide a LIVE "fly in" for final sound and video tests. Although the Virtual Red Arrows have been training hard on our main show routine which will be performed in early December we have also prepared a short arrival routine this evening (13th November) at 20:00 GMT. We would like to dedicate this flight to Flt Lt Sean Cunningham, Flt Lt Jon Egging and all of the service men and women who have given their lives protecting our freedom, we will never forget you. We hope those of you who can join us for a short while tonight enjoy the flight and the special surprise we have planned for you. Thank you once again for all your support, you guys are amazing!
  21. Today is the VRA's 6th birthday. It is amazing to see how far we have come in 6 years flying regular displays for our fans and attending live events like the recent one in Paris. The dedication and enthusiasm of the entire team is second to none and I would like to thank them, and you all, for your support through these past six years and for many years to come. On Sunday evening at 20:00GMT we will be broadcasting a live arrival flight for VFAT, with a special surprise, in dedication of our fallen comrades in the RAF Red Arrows. More details will be posted shortly. RED8|Ells
  22. Rest in Peace Sean. There is a condolance page where you can leave a message here: http://www.raf.mod.uk/reds/teamnews/fltltseancunningham.cfm The Virtual Red Arrows have sent a message on behalf of ourselves and the virtual aerobatic community.
  23. And change is good ;)
