  1. On sort of a related note, is this why Jester sometimes says “two ship” when in fact is just a single? I’ve noticed this happens a lot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  2. Oh okay! I remember that. I thought that was just the film industry just doing its usual thing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  3. I see. So I'm guessing, the best technique then is to fire just one Fox 3 and wait for any possible separation before fire another?
  4. Asking because I haven’t came across this in a manual and also ran into this problem in engagements. Is there a zoom or expand function for the radar? I find that when enemy flights are closely spaced that a Phoenix shot gets easily spoofed/confused. Wondering if I’m missing something or my technique is flawed. Thanks all. 5. Tank drag Okay, so it sounds like for my mission I have to incorporate a refueling stop then even though the patrol area isn’t 500 miles away. Because by the time I get to my patrol area I’m already at about 6000lbs. The problem is I know for certain that there will be extensive maneuvering from ground attack as well as possible AA combat and waiting for relief flight before RTB. Thanks for putting in the time to verify the sim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Tank drag Again, I’m not denying it’s not possible in the real world. What I’m questioning is it doesn’t seem possible in DCS. The drag values seem to be a bit too much. My whole climb to 26k (intended to climb higher) was mil power climb and by the time I was on the Iran shore my bags were empty. That wasn’t anything close in distance to this mission you all keep referencing. Something doesn’t seem right. I don’t know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  7. Is there any proof or something to back up that the taxi/landing light is correct? Seems illogical to use such a narrow focused light for landing, while the wide beam for taxi illuminates better. Maybe its just a DCS thing, but that doesn't seem very well engineered with what we got now.
  8. I'm sure the real F16 can do deep strike missions. I was asking if our F16 and the drag values for the tanks were correct. Currently with the load out I have, I would require refueling going to and from to go from Al Minhad? to Iran, patrol for 40 minutes, then RTB. It seems odd. Also this isn't doing a "deep strike" into Iran. This is on the shore of Iran. So again, I ask does this still seem right for the DCS jet?
  9. Has anyone else been able to get the F16 to work for calling an FAC? Also, is it the same editing for the LUA to get flight group to go to tanker? That seems to be missing again. Thanks!
  10. I got the jet loaded with three tanks, 4 97s, 2 9s, 2 120s. The jet hardly climbs with mil power to 26000. About 800fpm. Is this right? Hardly capable of deep strike if so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. Ordered as well. I need help with line up for cat launch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. Steerpoint elevation I just noticed this as well. It also seems to be tied to the altitude bug for the HUD. Wx is set to pressure of 30.31. HUD says -200 ft on start up with 29.92 set on altimeter. Select correct pressure on altimeter, altimeter goes to correct indication but HUD stays the same. Now I can't get my steerpoints to display because they are all underground because I set them in mission editor to ground level. Notice when steerpoints are invalid because the steerpoint diamond remains on HUD and doesn't move. Just stays fixed on center of HUD. I guess using standard pressure or lower will have to suffice. Damn bugs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  13. That’s my understanding as well. For catapult takeoffs you push TO trim button then manually set trim according to GW. Field takeoffs, you just push the button. All takeoffs are done at half flaps. Okay, thanks for backing me up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Really? I’m able to lock up pretty good with TWS. However that’s locking at co-altitude. I haven’t tried in the worse case scenario of being higher than bandit with ground clutter. Also playing SP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. Of course it is, but my post was seeking confirmation if it indeed did not work or if I was doing something wrong. It sounds more like it’s just not finished. Is there another way to engage bandits in WVR without relying on dogfight mode? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  16. Dogfight mode Is it just me or is dogfight mode completely useless? I do TMS up to put the radar to boresight and it brings up the symbology on the HUD, but it won't lock anything. I did this with a Mig 29 coming right at me and passed me head on. No lock. :dunno:
  17. From previous history the next update would be mid to late January. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. I don’t really remember that much because I rarely do cold start in this bird. Can’t really do it on a boat because you’ll slide to the bow waiting for INS to align. I rarely takeoff from a field because, hey, what’s the fun in that? I really wish HB would fix that. Most of the time it’s “hot ramp” for me. Simply because it’s the closest I can get to taxiing to a catapult without crashing on the ship. Oh well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  19. Don’t feel bad, I made this mistake too. Forgot the O2 switch on startup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. Shortcut for Jester ACM commands. When the ACM switch is open or up, Jester menu defaults to ACM only associated commands, example jettison stores, tanks, etc. since the ACM button is linked to whatever stores are selected from RIO. That way, we don't have to hunt through the Jester menu when things go to pot.
  21. I'm not crazy, just old. Ah, it wasn't a sticky. I knew I saw something like that. Thanks.
  22. Wasn't there a wishlist thread before? I can't remember if there was one or not. Anyways, this is a feature that maybe HB could look into.
  23. Ah! You're right. I just checked the manual to confirm this and sure enough exactly as described. It doesn't mention Jester, but it probably shouldn't because Jester has his own command for jettison tanks and what not. To me, this is a very task saturated situation with Jester. Oh well...I guess get really good at that Jester menu. Maybe they could make a shortcut for when the switch is flipped up that the Jester menu defaults to ACM commands or WVR menus? I'll mention it in the wishing well. Thanks!
  24. I’ve tried searching the bug thread to see if this was reported. I didn’t find anything, so I’m asking here. From how I understand it, moving the cover up puts the sensors in an ACM state. Pushing the button underneath the cover jettisons stores for dogfighting. My question is this currently implemented? Due to the recent threads about this feature, I’ve been playing around with it and for some reason I can’t get anything to jettison from pilot seat via the ACM button. I tried this in one of the instant action dogfight missions. So everything was armed, selected, AA mode, etc. Flip the cover, push the button. Nothing. Push and hold button. Nothing as well. 25. I didn’t. Someone else did. Credit where credit is due. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
