  1. Thanks for information m8. 6dof on GearVR, yes but I'm not using phone gyro at all. Opettrack and IR clip do the work. Now I will try experimenting to use EDtracker (Arduino 9250 based DIY for few $) for directional tracking with clip using for positional tracking only. EDtracker have perfect directional head tracking. There is as well alternative using Aruco printed markers.
  2. Didnt try anything. Generally speaking from consumers electronics perspective everything happened like I say. It was just parallel. About OSVR I don't know what to say. Forum is dead and you can see I'm the one who try to start some discussion about DCS on OSVR. No real answers same as on this forum. I know some people have experiance and those on Youtube was just trying Free version with SU 25 and they are nor realy competent because they are not real players of DCS so can't providew proper answers. To mee OSVR is look like in some sort of financial problems because forum is literary dead. No sign of any dev there. Someone mention something about latest update fix problems with tracking but there is nothing official about that update. So I will put on hold anything with OSVR for now. Same goes ti Pimax 4K, they need to fix some problems first. CV1 or Vive works but too much overpriced, not worth it. I was experimenting with Gear VR and got great results with DCS for 200$ based on 2560x1440 so until something better come out worth of the money they ask I will stick with my LG G3. If you want something better try LG G5 because USB3 connection. S7 don't have usb3.
  3. With i7 you wil not get much because DCS is not supporting muti cores. It is working on 2 cores so better choice will be i5 and diference in price invest in better GPU od SSD.
  4. @metzger I don't force Pimax or any other VR and money it self is not the problem. I will pay 1000€ if it worth it. But Rift is to expensive for what they give. And the worst part is this is it no place for improvement at all. Pimax have place for improvements because display. OSVR I see only as cheaper version of Rift not true improvements only full RGB display and price. Vive have better tracking and sharper picture but higher SDE and price. Personally I'm not interested in room scaling VR experience not even standing just seething. 3Glasses S1 Blubur is complete enigma. Specs are really promising, 2560x1440 704PPI display and display port shoving which way should VR go But there is no single proper review out there so no judgment about it yet. This will be really interesting to see it practical use in games. This is show why is Rift major reason why VR is not advancing any more and major reason why I will not support it. It is more matter of my personal principals and common good.
  5. 6DoF not existing, true it is fact and reason for some individual to buy it or not. Tracking in general is bit of problem but this is mostly connected to the Rift standards. But someone who is playing siting sim games this is get better results with pseudo 6DoF. I will not goes now in details about it because I was talk about it on this forum to much time but google is your best friend. But about picture quality it is proven with reports, reviews and video on Youtube. There is no doubt about it at all. this is fact. Not exactly, maybe just in DCS but in general there si lot of videos which prove something. Only you have to search it and this is more Pimax marketing issue. Rift videos jump out from every beer can. But even on that high number of videos you can't see much because it is hard to represent 3D experience or SDE on video because it is based on subjective impressions. Closest way to get most real picture is watch video recorded trough lens of VR to see SDE. Pimax 4K is not working properly yet in DCS but working to the level to see benefit of no SDE and higher resolution display. Problem is with virtual menu not the game so this could be DCS problem not just Pimax or OSVR who have similar problem. Some more support to the OpenVR standards from ED will be appropriated. With other games like Elite Dangerous, Asseto Corsa or Project Cars working like charm. Here is some videos recorded trough lens to get picture.
  6. There is no person on the world who can convince you in anything about Rift so why bother at all.
  7. Now maximum resolution is 1440p not 1080p and proven better picture and no SDE like on CV1 using as reference.
  8. We could expect positive things with it. Even Pimax 4K prove one thing with 4K display with 806PPI running only 2K (2560x1440) on 60Hz and quality of the picture is much better than on CV1. Much sharper and crisp picture without SDE. But, ther is always but I do not recomend it buy yet because of two major reasons. There is no positional tracking and it is not fully compatible yet so hard to play DCS because of some problems which could be fixed but we don't know when. Could be tomorrow but could be in a year. There is no clear answer. it is connected with SteamVR and OpenVR so it is not depending only on Pimax. My point here is about PimaX 8K. 4K display is worth it. In 8K we could expect Positional tracking and this OpenVR standards improvement so should be fully functional. They workinh on implementation of Display Port instead of HDMI so will work on 4K on 60Hz. Also have some technology which will reduce hardware requirements in half so will work as today CV1 working with 1.8 DSR/VSR technology. Check the details here about PimaX 8K and see prototype. Also there is other Chinese VR named Blubur S1. It is already based on 2K 2560x1440 display on 704PPI. Which is already much advanced than CV1 but same problems with compatibility like PimaX 4K and OSVR. Interesting thing with Blubur S1 ia that it is already connected true Display Port not HMDI like others so proving this is doable.
  9. You need to calibrate position of your camera for accuracy and corect translation of your movements. It is in Options under Camera.
  10. I don't know exactly for OSVR but I think should work true Opentrack. Pimax is working in Opentrack using Rift runtime 0.4.2. Try using some of Rift runtime maybe 0.7 or 0.8 used with DK2. Opentrack using as vell SteamVR as input too so maybe this will give you better results. I was experimenting with GearVR but didn't use mobile for tracking. Third part as EDtracker or Track clip true Opentrack work perfectly and with pseudo 6DoF in sims and seething position you don't miss positional tracking at all.
  11. How are you dare to say is playable when mezger say it is not working at all? Lets put it on a side and stay with facts. Totally agree with you. I don't own HDK2 or any other VR but I was almost buy CV1 but before I made decision I do some research of VR technology. But when I realize how cheep CV1 actually is as it is just matter of time when OpenVR will start to be major standard implemented in all games you don't have to be smart to realize that future belong to others VR. Soon as this happened CV1 is outdated. I will compare this situation with 3D graphic 20 years ago. Major brand then in GPU was Matrox no one was close then voodoo fx come out. Matrox was doing similar things as Oculus in VR trying to close 3D technology just for them self and didn't go with the flow and sccept OpenGL or DirectX 3D standards. In just two years they vanished like never existing, till then was leading GPU. About OSVR I'm worry about. There is no much activity on the forums or news about it so look like they are in trouble. I don't like it. Better will be if they upgrade HDK 1.4 with 4K display like in Pimax connected true Display Port what will allow sharp SDE free picture and shouldn't be more expencive, maybe cheaper. Here some my thots and facts whot we could expect in future with VR with already existing and available technology. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3036222&postcount=14
  12. And what is on video I post before, Super Mario? Come on it is not funny any more. How many prows you need. It is ridiculous continuing after all proves I publish. DCS don't need Steam VR or some other platform and if you conect your VR in direct mode DCS do it by its self. I even sebd you link of the software my friend use on the Video. Yes and he do it on purpose detail with rockets when DCS drooping FPS massively. And it is running on GTX 680 old GPU and Xeon OC on 3.4 MHz. Do you need more embarrassment?
  13. Come on give me some facts or stop spiting on other technologies thrn OR. You are constantly forcing individual subjective impressions without covering it with technical preferences. Video recorded with cheep mobile camera true lens is not fact but your nonsense is? If you are trying to prove your self that you are not ripped of by Oculus then don't do it to the others trying to convince them like Jehovah witness. And average pilot pleas do not quote just part of my sentence and thoughts and put them completely out of contents I was write. Read everything or do not read at all. It is your choice but don't twist my words please. I send you lots of links and data to show you what I'm talking about and please if you want go more deeper in that pleas learn basics about VR tehnology and not base your clame on facts that "it is working" and "it is in black color". Only thing I try to say that we need general VR standards so you can plug in in your PC and will be recognized as VR not as OR as it is now even for the Vive and you can't say Vive is bad product. Vive have best tracking system among all VR. Steam is already working on sharing Steam VR as some sort of general VR standard so soon all this VR will work same as OR with general standard and than OR will drop in half of the price. Same way as it was with some other standards. And yes it is not about software it is about OR hardware signature and if you know the basics about OR tehnology and how it is made then you will understand what I'm talking about. Mean while you can't turn me into OR witness just based on facts its working and its black. The only facts you provide. Over and Out.
  14. I'm asking again, based on what facts? This is all based on subjective individual impression. If we implement same principals to all VR sets in that case Pimax is the best because there is no SDE and have best picture so stop glorify Rift as some God. So if we compare CV1 with Vive and DK2 CV1 have smolest SDE but most blurred picture because they using plastic film to reduce SDE same as HDK2 but not Vive and DK2 which have more sharp picture but increased SDE. So answer me how same thing is good when it is implement by oculuc and is bad when it is implement by OSVR even on better quality display? Why I cant respect OR? OR cost in production way less than 100$ and low tech is built in. For example EDtracker is based on way better sensors and if you buy it as individual parts for build it is around 10$ but is you buy it for production this price could drop in quantity on just 2$ per piece. Here is example of really cheep VR based on crappy old 720p mobile. Video made by my friend Bobby who tested with some DIY VR and it is true lens recording by mobile phone camera.. This is VR under 80$ made by this parts: VR Box LG Optimus 4X HD P880 EDtracker Remotr I'm not favoring any of this VR and completely agree with Wolf8132. HDK is Hacker Development Kit so as the name say it is not final consumer product and it is depending on individual set up and if you are not ready to invest some time and knowledge do not buy HDK2 but be fair reach CV1 results with HDK2 is doable. But personally I don't like OSVR because they focus to copy OR CV1 same as Vive. I will more like that HDK2 was upgraded with single 2560x1440 704PPI single display. Results will be much better. Best performanse VR today is 3Glasses Blubur S1 but. It is based on 2560x1440 704PPI single display conected true Display Port which give you best performance and it is not depending on HDMI. But don't purchase it because there is no proper support or compatibility. This Chinese HMD shows there is proper technology already exist and only what is block it from proper use is general VR standards and only one who is blocking progress of VR is Oculus who is forcing his product based on third part outdated cheep hardware available to everyone. Only advantage of OR is plug and play product but the way it is reach in not fair and it is not good in general for proper progress of VR in general.
  15. You are so wrong. First of all AMD and Nvidia already have technology but they are not implemented how from VR as well from Software developers. You have possibility that cards in SLI/CF work in the way that one single GPU work only for one eye. Also there is technology which are rendering picturewith diferent quality. In focus is rendered 100% and how it is spread to peripheral vision this render quality drooping what increasing GPU performance. Technology which allowing 4K per eye with mid range GPU is already here so next generation of VR is not depending on hardware. It is only on VR and software developmant.
  16. Who say is useless and why? OSVR and Pimax didn't fail. They are usable even Pimax have better potential than CV1. They got only 3DoF right now but they working on 6DoF and working on DP 1.4 conection which will allow 4K native resolution on 60Hz. This are based on tech specs not subjective impression. CV1 is advanced only in one thing, positional tracking, every other aspect is much expensive and inferior product. Oculus in fair competition with his product will not have chance. Your only argument is Rift is working but check why. Even Vive need to fool computer it is Rift just like everyone else. This is not standard. We need general standard in VR not Oculus as standard. That is for our benefit and right now Oculus slowing down progress of VR. Wit experience as pioneer in VR field they should be leader in developing new technology not in dirty games behind scene slowing down progress of VR.
  17. You obviously not listen what I'm talking about. I was say on other zhread that to me is look as OSVR in serious problem if its not dead at all. But problem OSVR got coming from Oculus not from OSVR quality. Oculus is forcing his own standards so here in VR we got situation similar like it was with TrackIR and Freetrack. Sorry but I can't respect company or product who sell their soul to the devil betraying everything they was claim in the beginning. It is simple. how much was cost DK1 and DK2 whose production cost much more than CV1. CV1 should be lower price than DK2 and we got opposite situation. It is in our interest as consumers to have one general standard for VR so let the Oculčus compete with VR rivals based on product quality not based on dirty play blocking true pushing own standards without sharing it. It is called monopoly. Ngreedia at least have best GPUs even they are greedy company and overprice they products but they have best and who don't like it can buy cheaper AMD GPU. But they don't lie or trying to stop competition. Right now Oculus is doing opposite and in fair competition HDK2 or Vive and especially Pimax will have much advanced hardware and probably took a lot of market. After researching a lot start to be disappointed because Oculus is biggest threat and breaks for VR progress in general. Today we are already have lot of VR technology available so we could have 4K per eye dual screen, 210° FOV without SDE which will work better on 8K than today rift is working.
  18. My bed. So that means everything actually present all the time same way?
  19. Yes simply HDK2 have better specs than Rift display supporting full RGB 4:4:4 chroma compared with 4:2:2 chroma on Rift display. This is tehnical specs and no one can convincing me with his subjective opinion. Also fact is that HDK2 tracking is not near good as Rift. I don't know about changes because I don't own one and there is no proper review out there to judge and no much facts especially related to DCS. I don't factorizing anyone but Rift is not perfect either. It is overpriced half product.
  20. That's good. This could lead finally to break Oculus monopoly on VR standards. That will lead to better competition and more realistic and lower prices.
  21. For me is more wait then rush to buy half-product who will be outdated soon or competition will fix some of their problems for significantly lower price. Pimax is 3DoF but you can use opentrack and pimax there is recognized as Rift runtime 0.4.2 so you can set up pseudo 6DoF who in DCS completely can fool you and give you 6DoF feeling.
  22. This is Hardware issue not DCS. DCS already work perfectly in VR. Try it with GearVR. Better experience than Rift if use Hi quality mobile with 2560x1440 530PPI display and USB 3.0 standard like for example LG G5 and all this in direct mode using DCS 3D in VR.
  23. I wil not trying to compare VR with 4K large screen 40" to 43" which is sweet spot for use it 4KTV as monitor for work and gaming. Both solutions need simmilar hardware for support and cost around the same but philosophy of their advantages are completely opposite. 4K goes on high details and VR goer on realistic and immersive 3D so all this what someone prefers is individual and subjective. VR is actually secondary display and only for gaming and it is not cheep so doubt about "should I get it or not" are legitimate. So I will just give you some facts about VR in general without favoring one individual product at all. In essence Rift made some standard here but there is no general standard in VR at all that is the reason why something working Good on Rift not working that good on other VR's. This is specially affecting OSVR and Pimax 4K which are basically have better hardware but have problems because most of the standards trying to search Rift or Vive but not just standardized VR. This lack of general VR standards forcing us to choze inferiour product for high prize what in essence CV1 is. Why? I will try to explain it now. CV1 using HDMI 1.4 and two screens with low PPI comparing it with Pimax. Pimax prove that 4K screen with 806PPI don't have SDE and even with out rezolution of 1280x1440 per eye give much better results than CV1 for 200$ less. Problem is Rift standards because of which OSVR and Pimax don't work properly especially in tracking so for this 200$ less and some benefits be ready to constant tweaking and updating and manually optimizing if you always reach satisfied results at all. Today we can see that CV1 is fail in some area but we are forced tu use this failed trail not real product because they have to exit and establish standards for future market. They already could put some half product CV2 out in version with 1280x1440 per eye on 700PPI combined with already existing CV1 hardware will give much better results than it is now almost without SDE removing plastic filter which reducing SDE now but blurring picture. Such display connected true DP 1.4 standard already exist in Chines 3glasses VR. Pimax 4K already working on connecting true DP as well which will allow full 4K resolution in 60Hz what they will use in new Pimax 8K (4K per eye with over 200° FOV. But the real star here is StarVR which will implement some new technologies and will be real improvement and new standards in VR. All this showing direction where VR is moving and I believe Oculus already have something similar but also need to sell all stock of CV1 too so there is why they don't really announcing anything about future plans. First we will have droping price of CV1 in two reasons. Competition is better and better and initial balloon of gadget freaks are almost empy now and rift will be come more affordable especially if competition as OSVR and Pimax make some significant improvements. How strong are this competition? OSVR is open source but right now I don't see any benefit from it at all and didn't see that something happened there at all. Right not to me looks like they burned out copying Rift/Vive direction with dual display with similar specs. There is no new things since release of HDK2 even on forum nothing happened at all. Pimax is small company with limited resources and even with good ideas they need a lot to even smallest improvement need lot of time but they are doing their best what is just simpatico but not productive. That is the reason why Oculust and HTC will forcing they half product for long time. Future? Future is really bright because we already have technologies available to create 4K per eye VR without SDE which will be less hardware demanding and will work better than now. We will get two new axis which will tracking eye movement what will have two benefit. We will get natural movement without back pain when you check your six. We will use that tehnology also to send data to the GPU which will fully rendering just focused part of the picture and peripheral view field wil be rendered in lower quality whot we will not noticed at all because our vision work in similar way in nature. Right now we are rendering in full quality whole picture full FOV and simulating motion and periferal vision with adding bluer which is not realistic and wasting GPU resources. So check it out by your self and I believe we could have such VR in next two years max especially StarVR is now sponsored by IMAX an we all know who they are. http://www.roadtovr.com/hands-pimaxs-8k-headset-proves-high-fov-vr-coming/ http://www.roadtovr.com/starvr-interview-starbreeze-cto-emmanuel-marquez-e3-2016/ http://www.arvrmagazine.com/chinas-3glasses-launches-new-blubur-s1-headset/
  24. There is some activity on Pimax forum on this issue, also new Piplay version but for DCS do not upgrade because in new version DCS is not working. Peoples post some trick how to enter in game and in game everything is working OK.
  25. I post something there to support you will be good if others join us even just to make growing numbers to rais problem and get higher priority. Come on guys support us! thanks. :pilotfly:
