1. That is the forum. My point is there is no content on it for we are interested because there is no proper threads. I notice devs answering on most of the stuff even start working on some issues. If we DCS player organize something and start pushing some issues there is more chance we could push some things in our favor. individually we cant do nothing.
2. About opentrack I was thinking did you try to set Pimax gyro somehow true input not true pointtracker. Something like EDtracker is connected like joystick or some arduino or SteamVR option. Check the video as an idea.
3. Thanks to answer waterman. Some technical answers I got on Pimax forum. You right they could run 4K but only on 30Hz what is not good for gaming only for movies. Problem for this is MIPI board which connect display with PC true HDMI 1.4 Some Pimax Dev told me they are working on connection true Display port 1.2 which will allow 4K on 60Hz minimum. I'm wondering is this could have some benefit from AMD Freesync tehnology because could work on 75Hz with much smooth picture. Also they work on Pimax 8K and positional tracking. 8K is actualy 4K per eye with 210 FOV. Prototype is already there and will start sun kick start campaign for it. http://www.roadtovr.com/hands-pimaxs-8k-headset-proves-high-fov-vr-coming/ About your problem with 1440x2560 I think we could raise it on Pimax forum and I will support you there. As I see Devs communicate a lot with consumers and using this information's to implement some fixes. If we push it we could get priority to fix it.
4. @watermanpc, you could give us some more detailed experience with Pimax 4K. I know there is some problems but I believe could be fixed. So I got some questions. Are you able to start DCS in full 4K resolution no matter on fps? Did you try Opentrack head tracking freeware and is Pimax recognized inside at all? There is option for arduino gyro so maybee.
5. I believe combining arduino plus LED and web cam we could get 6DoF. Arduino i doing head moving and just one LED and cam doing positional tracking. Similar like PS move works.
6. This could help you.
7. No way. Only difference and CV1 optimization could be in more user friendly advantage to CV1 Picture quality no way. Only way for CV1 to be better is if HDK2 failed to run game in full resolution and run it in 1080p to not use this hardware advantage. I don't know is this case because there is no proper information from HDK2 users. If this is the case than even Pimax 4K is better than HDK2 because it is proven that 4K display don't have SDE. Agree. We need proper review for DCS on HDK2 and comparing it with CV1. There is some review in other games and goes in favor to HDK2 with picture quality. HDK2 still working on head tracking. Here CV1 have clear advantage more in matter of user friendly. HDK2 is pain in the ass to proper set up tracking and still not using all LED HMD have.
8. I think it is but I'm afraid you are asking this on wrong forum. Check on OSVR forums or contact OSVR support.
9. Spectre flaying so much so he don't have time to post some review from real experianced DCS pilot. :music_whistling: Read comments on this videos
10. Come on Spectre, we want comprehensive report about HDK2 in DCS with comparison to CV1/Vive.
11. If you can wait at least 6 months for upgrade. Reason? RX 490 and GTX 1080ti coming on GPU market. ZEN is coming at CPU market. You don't need to buy this specific product but they will shake the market in general and chamge the price to other products as well. So be patient you can save some money or buy better hardware for same budget.
12. maybe you dhould think about GTX 980ti. It is with performance maybe better than 1070 and not having bottleneck with older generation CPU. Also if you can wait you should wait February. RX 490 announced for November and 1080ti for January. You don't have to buy it but this will shake the market and lower the price to older models.
13. Google is your best friend. There is several sources and benchmark videos on youtube where same graphic card have different performance on new or older generation of CPU. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=1070+bottleneck
14. GTX 1070 and 1080 have bottleneck on older CPU like your. For 1070 you need to upgrade MB, RAM and CPU. I7 will not make difference over I5 in DCS and similar CPU intense game who make 75% work on one core. Just be sure your future CPU have good overcloacking potential and put it on stable overcloaqck on 4.3 - 4.5 Ghz. If you want to stay with your I7 920 than max GPU is GTX 980ti as single card.
15. Did anyone get his HDK2 already? Whot is verdict?
16. Maybe you can fix your problem by changing head position in game. Feeling of space could be individual as well as connected with wrong central head position. Check this video, it is not DCS but problem is the same and I think could be fixed with little tweaking in game.
17. Did anyone try to use Opentrack with Oculu/Vive for headtracking? If you use Opentrack you will be able to set natural head move forward as zoom setting up this axes with more then 1:1 same as trackir.
18. I think this will solw your problem. For multiple planes you need multiple profiles or always use default profile and everything set up true the game.
19. OPTO TLN115A IR-LED Water-clear 42° 5mm 950nm 100mA 1,35V I file the top of the led to increase angle. Such IR LED is used in remote controllers and its god as SFH485P for which say is the best one for clip. Here is link for SFH485P
20. This is not real hands tracking actually. According to video this is gyro sensors like on mobile plus some sort of buttons. This is actually work like mouse only gyro axes simulating mouse movement. This could work in DCS as mouse emulator. Less precision will be strictly DCS issue.
