Yea you right. It is first preview of my work and this is now just part of fine tuning. About fuselage roundel I think size is correct only need to be moved few cm more to the middle of plane. Pleas send me some link if you know as reference point for wing markings so I could determine proper size and position. This is anyway WiP and now I will join forces with *NOB*WeparSestrunjski who start to work on same thing to get best results is possible. But to be honest for real finish thing I will wait for official template because working on skin from flat bmp and you want full details and accuracy is major pain in the ass. There is lot of tiny details to fix as we think MIG 21BIS deserve high quality skin same way as this is high quality module.

I was play a nit in PS with this and here is the results. You notice white squares. It is place holder for serial numbers. I will need some help to learn how to fix it in "description.lua" file. Also is it possible to set different color, size and font for that serial numbers and how to do that if it is possible? Thanks.

I'm still not believing this is happening. I got feeling I will be disappointed after I wake up. :pilotfly: :pilotfly: :pilotfly: I already download it and try it and it is awesome. Can't wait F4 now I guess this will be next project from Leatherneck Simulations to put MIG 21 real opponent from his time. Thank you all one more time.

So we got it in DCS too but not yet for Dora? If this is the case I will release first with full markings on skin and update it when this will be available in Dora. To be honest I don't know how to do this or is it possible at all. As I mention this is my first skin so need help with such technical details. It is spiral I made it on texture but I'm not sure do I need technically set up something. On the texture there is spiral pattern and blurry non spiral which I guess representing cone in rotation. I'm not sure that cone is really rotating at all so rotation is represented with static texture and I guess on high rpm this any way visually melt in similar shape. Pleas correct me if I'm wrong. Also I found some other sources and need to check it out to made it much as possible authentic. This skin is based on real plane colors used in WWII.

Now when I can tell I master taking off the ground with Dora and have success in 95% of the time. Even in this 5% I could tell exactly what I did wrong and why I failed it. If I could concentrate without experimenting to see is it possible to do some other way I think I could reach even 100%. The point is now I know exactly what I have to do. I even try some different approach as you can see here some people do it in different way. Now I manage to do it almost all way it was described here so every way is possible so you have to chose what is working best for you. All this way have two thing in common and that is: keep plane go straight forward as much is possible without high deviation in direction using Rudder. when plane is ready to lift around 200Kph keep your wings straight horizontal by adding right rudder and stick to the right. this two things are the key for success. There is no exact amount how much you just simply have to feel it. It is hard because this is game and you can only see it visually so need to practice. Also it is depend on your joystick you got and how it is set up so all this is individual and you will learn it true practice. This is the key feature as in real life plane have tendency to drag you left and left wing down you need to compensate it with rudder and joystick in opposite direction and you have to do it by the feeling and that is why you need to practice, to get that feeling for this plane as every plane is different. So be patient and practice, practice, practice. Good luck. :pilotfly:

Yea unfortunately. In some other games like for example Il2 CloD or ArmA you got place holders for such marks which could be added true some in game option or even like in ArmA your clan patch true XML. This will be nice addition to the game. Something on what Devs should think about it definitely. It is weerd that whole squadron have same markings on plane or to avoid need separate skin for itch individual plane. OK I will place that number directly on skin and publish it soon.

Similar is with Spitfire. Spitfire don't have taking off flaps position only full raised or lowered. When you taking off you should put your nose trim one notch down same as rudder trim little bit to the right. There is no ailerons trim in Spitfire at all but the point is the same.

I'm working on FW-190D9 II-JG1 from 1944. It is my first skin and need some help guys. Need some details to be ready for published. Originally should be red 21 number on side. My question is should I put this number directly as part of skin or you can change markings true description.lua or something so we could use same skin with multiple markings on plane? Thanks. I'm a living prove that take of is possible. I couldn't take off at all but after 100 crashed planes now I'm taking off in more than 80% case. In other 20% I'm recognized error but mostly is still imperfect flight model. Most of the stuff is good and some other on what we could complain is just matter of tweaking what is normal in Beta phase. Keep that in mind P 51 is final product FW is not and that's the price of early access. I certain point I could agree with you but not completely. In my opinion based on some logic with higher speed tail wheel should reducing effect on direction according to speed increase and I didn't notice it dose. In same time with speed rudder should more effect on turning but with reducing tail wheel effect al in all should be easier to keep plane straight. Also you should give some compensation with wings too. I'm not real pilot but what I was told and notice on RL TO videos people have much more smoother taking off and landing than it is in DCS. I think the problem also laying in the fact that in real plane you receive visual information same as physical true your controller. Here in game you got only visual information what is going on physical information is only center spring or FF which is not properly programmed even this is possibility to simulate those condition to the player but I didn't see it working properly in any game not just in DCS. I think Devs should think about that fact that realism is also limited by game engine possibilities and even sometimes most realistic and accurate features could have opposite effect and create more unrealistic feeling in general. Same could goes in opposite direction too and some not realistic feature could increase overall realism compensating some bad effect on other realistic features make it more balanced and keep it more realistic in general not feature by feature. I'm saying it again I'm not real pilot and my observation is based on game play experience and discussion with real pilots. This is made in good intention I'm not trolling so if I say something wrong I will like to be explained why and what so we could leave it behind and clarifies this. Thank's Dev's.

Sound logical. To be honest I got to the same idea so I start rolling and than lock the wheel. Also I reduce rudder curve to 12 didn't put it to 0 and actually find out it's depend on how you are use to rudder sensitivity. Curve is set most for smooth and small movement for aiming. I increase my success take off's to about 70%. Sometime still losing control and end up out of the strip too soon but some of take off's are straight and like pro. What could be problem when plane in middle of taking off or before lift start turn to one side but plane continuing go forward so start to slip sideway?

Maybe I could prow it. I do the same with throttle and reduce curve on rudder to 19 and number of successful take offs increase but it is still under 50% but it is huge improvement. :pilotfly: Still discovering some answers in non logical behavior of the plane. I don't know why plane goes straight from beginning right and not reacting on rudder or start to react too late. Tail wheel is centered and locked.

OK thanks guys. More or less I already follow most of the stuff you mention here. Yes I watch all available videos on Youtube even study those with MP on DOW server where I could see take off. How I can turn on that control input HUD? Any suggestion about axis tune on Dora? I got hot ass G940 BTW. Right now I got Pitch: curve 25 and Y sensitivity on 54 because of FF Roll: just 25 curve and Rudder just Curve on 30 Rudder assist is Off and TO assist is 0 It was 100 before when I started but someone told me that is my problem and should be 0. Didn't mention any difference. Maybe because I set up default Simulation level not Game or Custom. I was even try to "dance" just watching turn indicator and giving input of rudder to keep it in center much as possible but instead of waltz it was break dance I will try that you are advice me tomorrow and keep you informed with progress.

Right now lot of us have same problems but unfortunately after 23 pages of discussion didn't yet find proper advice which will help me realize what I did wrong to correct it. It is harder to land than other planes but if I failed it I know exactly what I did wrong and it was my mistake and next time avoid the mistake and all is good. But here with taking off I don't know. I try every advice here and follow procedure from official video. try with max 2500 RPM same as 3000 or max similar results really don't know what I'm doing wrong. Bitch just doing on her own. Sometime like there is no input from rudder than at all than input is to hard. Sometime you put correction on rudder but plane continuing goes where it was like speedway motorcycle. How I could practice when there is no logical explanation what I did wrong to correct. Of course we are talking about sim level without any AI help in Game mod she taking off by her self.

Guys take it easy. My intentions are good. Even it is critics but with good intentions. I'm aware this is Beta but if we don't discus about it how could be better polished as final product? I got Dora and Mustang in same time and start first with Dora and have more hours spend on Dora than on Mustang. So Mustang is piece of cake from first time. I'm not such a noob to not know how to take off but handling Dora is impossible mission for me. Rudder just not react the same every time. I have about 5 take off with P 51 and all was smooth and easy with perfect straight direction. On other side with Dora I have at least 50 take off and I'm not sure if I put her in the air 5 times and every time with heavy struggle. Just before I rich half of the airstrip I end it out of it no matter left or right. Lot of people have exactly same problems, also I did'n see single video with smooth take off with Dora on Youtube. About breaks and that what I give aspect and send video to prove the point what I hear real Luftwafe pilots who fly this plane in real life so that is full realistic feature no descust about it at all. I just mention this and that is on DEVs are they try to implement it or not but if this is possible and even demands in real life than should be implemented in flight model if as you say this is realistic sim.

I was watching some documentary about FW 190 and pilots say they have trick to get more stability and better view. After they star rolling the quick step on the breaks what rise tail much more sooner and than they have better control. Check this video on 2:05 when FW 190 start rolling. BTW I have problems only with FW 190 not with other planes. For example P-51 I take off more easy than Spitfire in Il2 CloD. FW is definitely over done and check the video to prove this issue. Pilot imput is minimal to easy keep plane steady. Same way like is the case with P-51 in DCS.

All this mess and confusion around DCS WWII is over. Now we know ED took control over it and this is now regular DCS modules by plane as part of the DCS World. Backers are get what is not promise in the beginning but what DCS could realistically provide to us and that is not question here at all. I just wonder as backer when and how I will get keys for my planes I got right depend on my backer level? For example I'm 40$ backer and got right on two planes and I want to activate P-51 and FW 190 which both are now released. When and how will this happened? When all this mess for backers will finally end? Thanks.

I still got 6 planes in Backer page. I don't think this what we got in the end is fair. :( As I understand instead of 6 planes (40$ backer) I will got only 2 and I can't chose which one I want. Will be only P51 and FW190 Dora. We support this project now almost year and half ago and still don't got nothing. I think should be fair that we got at least 50% discount on rest of the planes we promised in the beginning. It is fair and logical, in year will be anyway 50% discounts on summer or Christmas sales. We support this project in front so ED should give us such discount in front too. I think this will be fair for both sides, same to backer as ED. Other way I don't think will support this project anymore. Il2 CloD for 10$ now give away much more in content as in pleasure. Think about it ED.
