  1. All Windows MR models work with SteamVR now. Check how Lenovo work with Asseto Corsa and listen comparison from CV1 user in this video.
  2. For some Flight Sim VR user Pimax8K is the answer. This will put you in natural position as real pilot have with helmet on head. With Pimax8K you will be able to check your 6 with turning your head on side for minimum 90° and for same results you need to turn your head on gen1 110° VR you need to turn your head on minimum 140°. This diference maybe is not look much in numbers but in your body limitation it is huge. This make whole new immersion on natural movement like 1:1 headtracking in VR made compared to TrackIR.
  3. I hear that a lot. VR is based on real 3D subjective impression. You are blown away with that sens or reality and immersion but after while especially if you are flying in MP PvP missions especially WWII warbirds where you are depending on spotting enemies on time and read instruments VR could put you in huge disadvantage where you stop be competitive to monitor users. Most of the people who use VR and playing PvP are using VR only in SP missions or MP COOP missions but not in PvP. That is what I hope could change with WMR or even better with Pimax5 or 8K.
  4. All this is based on subjective impressions. It is hard to tell but we need some testing in the way for example how this difference in specs which is obvious impact on our subjective feeling. My point is maybe on some use this difference is not that much visible but in some specific details could make huge difference like spotting enemies on horizon or be able to read instruments much better. If you don't own VR than definitely is better to buy WMR today because difference is noticeable definitely but it is not that big worth to jump from CV1 or Vive to WMR. Owners of CV1/Vive should wait to see how things going on with Pimax8K which brings something completely new with much higher specs difference especially with potential. I'm also mantion WMR because diference from Odyssey and rest of WMR is really minimal and it is questionable is it noticeable at all because how much display is cowered by lens because FOV is the same so no one still answer how big difference is 1600x1440 vs 1440x1440 and that is the only real difference between Odyssey and rest of the WMR's.

  8. No one should be pissed in few reasons. First of all as I know all of this was explain from the beginning how on Pimax forum even before Kickstart campaign starts and on Kickstarter campaign as well. This is normal for any kickstarter campaign not just Pimax and you have know better there is no finalized product yet so even delay is possible to expect in some kickstarter campaign. That is why Kickstarter is exist at all. Just remeber how DCS WWII starts and how long was need to finalize and it is not finished even today. Remeber whot you plagued and what you get in the end with DCS WWII. There was even worse with Oculus Rift campaign. So guy you have to be reasonable and if you want to expect final product straight away you should be wait then consumer version to be released to buy it regular way for increased price.
  9. Guys look at this as positive. Obvious if Thick8 can't stop playing it there is some conclusion as well. Obvious it is working, it is good and there is no nausea.   13. Yea it is closed beta and you need to get key for it. I dont know how but in 4 days will be opened, so we all have to survive this 4 days. :music_whistling:
  14. Just passing official Pimax statement not some subjective impression after few minutes in Fruit Ninja. After all lets focus here on Odyssey not Pimax. Pimax here is just for comparison and you have to teki in mind 5/8K is still prototipe made more for prove conc3ept than a finished product. Right now I'm waiting real in use review after SteamVR will work properly in some serious usage in DCS for example. How it is in compaction with CV1/Vive with reading instruments or spiting targets in distance. That is only thing I'm waiting right now and I hope we will see some first impression in a week.
  15. Pimax 5K and 8K is still prototype. V3 reach stable 83Hz and unstable 90Hz. So it is proven that display is capable for 90Hz but real firmware is still developing and going well so don't worry about 90Hz this is just matter of time when will be stabilized. Such issue in this stage is normal especialy they just start to use DP. Even Vive or Rift didn't reach 90Hz over night. I don't know why doubt about it. Pimax4K was at 60Hz because display limitation and HDMI 1.4. Now it is completly new hardware which is capable to reach 90Hz and developing is going much faster than it was with Rift. This 90Hz is just trolling of people which didnt read nothing about Pimax5 or 8K.
  16. I think this will work same way as Pimax4K. First run Piplay then SteamVR and after that combination DCS recognized Pimax as Rift. I don't see the reason why with Microsoft will be different. Only you will run some Microsoft "MRplay" instead Piplay.

  18. first of all try this: About 4K it is just another gen1VR which only prows that could be better results with just one better display. CV1 will be better product if they will use in that days Note4 display split i two. This results will be close to today's WMR. Pimax4K was far away from perfect but was prow some point. At first was cheaper alternative but after Oculus and Vive price drops after all this is questionable because tracking and controllers. And here WMR combine best of both worlds. I'm not backing Pimax5K or 8K but tracking progress and just comparing specs. So far everything I was guessing in past based on known technology and specs of VR WMR and Pimax prows in reality. Personally I believe Odyssey will serve you well even much better than CV1 or Pi4K if you will be satisfied with 110FOV only. Once again good luck and I'm supporting your choice as long as you are satisfied. Hoping this video could help you to run DCS soon as possible. :thumbup:
  19. Maybe only for Pimax4K but for new 5K, 8K or 8KX I will not bet on that in few reasons. Samsung is best gen1VR but Pimax 5K is next gen VR definitely. I'm talking about 5K because ony 5K will be fair comparison. If we not take in consideration almost double difference in FOV all others specs goes in favor to Pimax 5K. 8K and 8KX even more. So Odyssey have 16 PPD if this 1600 pixel per eye is for horizontal, 5K got 17 PPD. Also SDE index (PPI/lens magnification factor) for Odyssey is 183 and for 5K is 235. Remember higher is better. One other importhant issue too is chroma color. Odyssey got 4:2:2 and Pimax 4:4:4 which is result more crisp and sharp picture. But for gen1 probably best choice between Vive, CV1 and Pimax4K definitely.
  20. No matter who is doing review all of tham are importhant and give you some perspective. Point is we have to take them all in consideration and than learn to read between the lines. Major point are proven true all of this reviews. So all facts telling us this is truly next gen VR. Even 5K model is huge step forward. Comparing some specs with first review of Samsung Oddysey and impresion tells us that even 5K model is better then 1st gen VR. First impresion about WMR tell us about less noticeable SDE even on brand new Samsung Odyssey is the best and valie we use for PPD and SDE to compare it in numbers are going in favor to 5K vs Odyssey, not much but noticeable. For example Odyssey PPD is 16 and 5K is 17. SDE factor is for Odyssey 183 and for 5K is 235. To remind you for SDE factor higher is better same as for PPD. So conclusion from 5K if we focus only on PPD and SDE without taking in consideration FOV even 5K should be significant step forward even compared with latest gen 1 VR like Odyssey.
  21. Nice! Most important thing is that you are happy with it. Your first impressions just prove some our calculations about how this could look like was right. I'm also think this is big step forward compared to CV1. Just like from DK2 to CV1 was even specs difference was minor than CV1 to Oddysey. With OpenVR and SteamVR support will work in DCS in same way as other non Rift VRs, no problem. Did you try some of those apps for VR like VorpX, Riftcat or Trident or what ever. A little bit superficial review by Linus what is comon to people who doing reviews of almost everything like Tested guys without focusing on some important details or without fully understand it. But if you compare it with others reviews even Tested one have some in common conclusions. It is worth it and this is definitely next gen VR no matter what someone want to say. Even 5K model have significantly reduced SDE compared to CV1. SDE on 5K is closer to the Pimax4K than to the CV1. Reason is in display PPI and magnification factor of the lens. Because twice larger display per eye nad only 1/3 larger FOV per eye. Because of this diferences 5K have better PPD than Pimax4K, 17 vs 12.8 or 17 vs 10.8 compared with CV1. Same reason is for smaller SDE. PPI is some sort of physical resolution of display so CV1 got 470, 5K got 530 and 4K/8K got 807 PPI. benefit here is magnification of the lens and because 5K and 8K got only 2/3 magnification of CV1/Pimax4K this display greed is less magnified what make it less noticeable.

  24. Got it. Microsoft promise support for SteamVR so DCS will do nothing and this should work in same way as Vive true SteamVR. Unfortunately Microsoft stil working on SteamVR support for WMR.
